Ted -- I only do that so I have track of what I've done -- like I said I apologize to others for that -- but the Topps web site, which should have had that feature did not --
BTW -- Your Red Sox box will go out later this week image

Does anyone know if the ALL autographs are prize cards? Someone just accepted an offer I made for 2 extra 56's for a 2002 Chris Chamblis Topps Archives Autograph, which, if it is a prize card, I am ecstatic about b/c it saves me about $50 in shipping fees. I'd just like it if someone could confirm this. I'd ask Topps directly, but know I'm more likely to get an accurate answer here image

kshorton says: i gots an Empire State Building card... seeking advice.. is this better and worth more than my psa 3 franco harris 1973 topps card which i defouled by trying to make a baby with ? Please advise. the franco card is graded.. the ESB card is not yet, and I do not want to have a baby with the ESB card.

So far anyone whose requested shipping with an auto card got free shipping. Mine was a 2002 Jose Cruz which I had traded for...the free shipping IMO is worth it over a couple of vintage cards--especially if it'll save you $50.

On a side note, I tried to get that Chambliss and couldn't pry it away with an offer of a '55 and 4 60-65's.

what about orig Mantle's wouldnt they be considered prize cards?... It doesnt make sense if topps only made auto's prize cards, maybe they have a system like any card that books over $100 is a prize card? what are your thoughts?

The regular issue cards are an original part of the giveaway. Those are cards your mom threw out, the newer stuff is what you threw out. The auto cards are something you wouldn't throw out.

I've called Topps twice. The person with whom I spoke this week said he "couldn't understand why my cards hadn't been received" after four weeks. He was going to "look into it" and get right back to me; fortunately, I haven't been holding my breath waiting.

got a very large stack of '68 Tigers now. I can make it worth your while if you have any, so contact me. I've got a large handful of cards to trade from everything from '52 to '74, commons, minor stars, stars, and HoFers, or even modern crap if you prefer that.

I've traded about and now how many teams represented as well. Lots of Red Sox, Orioles, Giants, Pirates, Mets, Rookie Stars, etc. I have something from every year as well. I've thrown my trading based on book value out the window and just looking to trade for what I'm collecting. Makes it a lot less of a negotiation if there is something you are looking for.

Cards are moving fast though, so let me know.

On a side note, I completed my 284th offered trade last night.

It's now been 31 days since I requested my cards, and, while they have yet to arrive, I did receive today a somewhat beat up 1956 card from Topps. It was not part of my order, not was it ever in "My Collection". Stranger and stranger. Anyone have any similar experiences?

I'd need some directions on posting a picture. The card has three rounded corners; the bottom right corner has a crease that goes from about 1/4 inch up the right side to about 1/4 inch in on the bottom. The lower right corner itself almost looks like a small piece was cut off. Since I was 10 years old and actively collecting in 1956, this could, indeed, be one of the cards my mother threw out.

It was down last night (apparently from the looks of things, the last process ended). Looks like 85 commons are quite a few of the fillers now

While it's a great trade offer. I'm not sure I'd be able to move of those easily or have personal interest in one. I'm trying to keep my options open in case I need to move medium sized cards quickly for the '68 tigers contest.

Got the first of my 4 orders the other day. Had to split my 289 cards into four shipments, becuase the site kept timing out when I tried to order all at once. For the weak at heart, these are scan intensive. Here are the scans:
                        image

                        image

Notice anything different about the Pagliarulo, Rice, Niekro, and Christensen??? How about some back scans, should be able to tell then....

For those of you unfamiliar with 80s glossy, parallel sets, those are Tiffanys. Anyone else get Tiffany cards for your mid 80s stuff?

                        Matt,

Overall, your cards appear to be in better condition than the ones I received. Since my new computer and old scanner are "incompatible", I still can't post scans.

Is there a driver available for your scanner? You can usually find them on the web.

I was shocked I got these in the mail today, it only took a week. From what I've seen I wasn't expecting much with the older cards and I was right. The '56 Wilson has two heavy creases on it and the '57 Lennon has a registration problem. Very happy with the '70 Alyea,'77 Chalk, '78 May,'88 Dawson and a Mint '90 Ripken. Can't complain, and it was fun. Doug

I'm junking my attempt at a 56 set. They are all available if anyone wants them. My goal is to shrink this down to as few cards as possible, so I'd prefer to trade several of these for one high dollar card or several mid range cards (In other words, I don't want to trade a $10 56 for a $10 57 and I don't want to trade one 56 for "as many cards as I can get" image

Any takers? These are what I have in my account with Beckett values

After seeing those scans etc. I have to say WOW! Alot of junk there.

I have a bunch of EX to EX-MT commons from the 60s and 70s, for $2 each I'll mail out a random bunch. There might even be a star or two included. Shipping will be FREE but cards must be bought in lots of 5. image

definitely good time to get 60's commons, but last week when everyone was scared of getting the '83s and 85's was actually a great time, depending on your timing. In between the mid 80's commons were stars and semi-stars. I entered 4 codes over two days and got a '61 High Number, a '61 Don Larson SP, a '69 Yastrezemski, and a '58 Piersall.

Already traded the '69 Yas for a '73 Willie Mays.
