I just had a trade completed that I never initiated. There would be no reason I would have set the trade up....has this happened to anyone?

I sent topps a complaint message, but I am sure I will never hear anything about it.

That's why I don't hit the decline button, I'm worried that something like that would happen. The ever so great 87 Topps Rafael Palmeiro for a 52.....

not declining trades is prolly just holding up the website , the site is buggy enough without an extra 5,000 pointless trades. I dont think pressing decline would initiate a trade

It is a trade in my list that I initiated and someone accepted....
    I never intitiated this trade

    a 1960s card for a 1987 card

trades that someone sent me and I accept do not get listed on my pages...so I cant keep trake of trade offers that I accept....

I have noticed that if you start the trade process by picking your card(s) to trade and search for a card, click out of the trade because the site slows up and then go back to start the trade process again, the top card from the search will show up as a potential trade. But you would have to click confirm then. Question is, did you search for an older card of that '87 player prior to getting the '87 traded for?

never would have chosen allan anderson for any reason to start the trade or any anderson for that matter

When the system is "buggy" and does not let me decline a trade; I have discovered that closing the "trade" page automatically declines the trade for me so sometimes I just use that option

I tried that; but only the trades you start and complete show up on that; so there is no way of seeing every trade you make; which is why I keep track for myself on this thread. I apologize for those who don't like to see that; but that's why I keep track that way.

They do. Mine was a Dave McNally auto. I would assume all autos are prize cards

Correct. I traded a '67 Mathews and 7 other cards to nab a 2002 Jose Cruz auto. For me the free shipping compared to a $15 charge was worth it.

Most of your autos are in 2001/2002.

    Agreed:

There also should have been in that site (and please add your ideas to this list)

    1) A discussion group within that part of the website -- that would have centralized these discussions even more. This has been a great thread AND the facebook group grows by leaps and bounds ever day.

    2) A way to do trades for more than "1" card. You can send a trade of 2 or more cards for a trade but you can not specify a person to do a multi-card trade for. I think there would have been some more trading that way. In other words; a link to what everyone has -- would have been a cool idea.

A great idea, but given the fact that Topps' software would have to immediately cross reference every person's account to allow for a request of more than one card to be verified and confirm that such a request could even be completed might open the site up to more delays and other issues.

Allowing "access" to others' inventory would be great, but also concerning at the same time.

I think I'm going to stick in the contest a bit longer and try to do something different. My dad collected a partial 1968 set when I was growing up plus Topps is running a contest with that year. That being said I will trade for any and all 1968's you can offer. looking for equal value or better trades and I have A LOT of older cards to offer, I have 150 cards all Pre-1973. I'd estimate that around 146 of them are Cincinnati Reds. If you want to trade for older cards or reds and have some '68s to offer hit me up in PM or leave me a message here.

"SENT YOU PM REGARDING A TRADE OPPORTUNITY" PAEDOG
  • Options
I think I responded, but if you didn't get it, go ahead and put the trade out there and I'll accept it. It seemed fair enoguh based on my premium pricing!

Paedog, I figured out why you didn't get my PM, I think you have PMs turned off. So you were able to PM me since mine were on, but I could not reply since yours were off. Anyhow, you can fix that under 'profile'

I mis-stated earlier that I was trading exclusively for '68s. What I meant to say is that every deal should have at least one '68 in it, unless you are giving up more valuable older cards than I am.

Trades with a 1968 Detroit Tiger will be given preference.

Will also trade down some of the more expensive cards for $4-$8 cards of Yankees and Red Sox and whatever fillers it takes you to get a fair value trade

Anyone else noticed that there are very few 1981 or 1982 cads coming out.....I know these were not years that had many good cards, but it seems strange......maybe they are in the next batch , whenever topps decides to change it

I also have a prize card 2000 Carlos Beltran Autograph. I'd trade this if the offer were right (note: I gave up a lot to get it)

RCracer - your 1 for 81 card trade just isn't working in the Topps system. Keeps timing out........Need to do smaller trades.
