Seriously, the beer idea makes sense, you know it does
Actually, if I had to guess, based on what you mentioned at FUN I'd have to say it has something to do with original surfaces. I'd guess that you're going to designate coins with original surfaces as such?

How about PCGS is going to use advanced imaging techniques and digital mapping to create accurate 3 dimensional computer images of the coins being graded. These images could be turned, rotated or whatever to examine the coin in detail from any perspective. Got to admit it would be cool.
PCGS has signed a deal with the US Mint, where the MInt ships freshly-minted coins directly to PCGS. Any coins grading less than MS or PR69 will be returned to the Mint for recycling. PCGS will market the coins only to collectors, thus eliminating the need for dealers in new US coinage.
$1000? Ok here are my guesses. Pcgs will be grading the "Black Swan" shipwreck coins. Pcgs will be grading the 10 "Langbord" 1933 saints. The U.S. mint will now be selling pcgs graded coins.
Make a much better attempt at some sort of pricing mechanism that would be available to collectors and dealers alike, something like the Greysheet but more up to date and available electronically if desired.
PCGS will set a market price floor on its graded coins, similar to the concept that the green sticker company does, therefore making stickers irrelevant. I am surprised that PCGS has not done anything to date to set prices for its graded coins.

I'm torn -- not sure how to think big picture enough for this one. Perhaps it's the return of regency slabs, but taken a step further -- pcgs coin albums, with interlocking square 2x2 sealed slabs, made feasible with minimal fees for holdering (but no grade assigned) for the vast majority of "widgety" US coins?
I have no idea, but looking forward to the announcement!
PCGS will announce a new "conservation" service where they will be able to restore any worn/damaged/corroded/AT`d coin back to MS/PR condition no matter how severe it`s condition.
I think PCGS will do something along the lines of removing all possible air from the slabs making them completely air tite. I know there is a major problem with coins turning in the holders and air has a major factor to that turning.

PCGS will allow members to list their pcgs coins on their Cetified Coin Exchange thereby greatly expanding the market for coins offered both bid and ask and therby reflecting a truer price for both bid and ask.

It wouldn't be something that would affect every coin they have graded in a way that you would want them all reslabbed--that would be a huge cluster. Logistical nightmare.
A new way, the next step, the big one??
Hmm, and only $1000.00 for guessing closest?--must not be a fantastic revenue generator.
Okay, here is a guess, and this would be only if you wanted it, not something that you felt coerced into participating in.
Drum roll please.........
Album page sized slabs for your coins obviously capable of holding many coins (as compared to one, or the somewhat available 4 coin multislab holders.)
Think replacing Dansco holders, Whitman holders, etc....you have your "collection" in a manageable and organized system rather than strewn all over creation in individual slabs.
Just a guess, but it would be nice to have a lot of PCGS coins in a reasonably small space to admire with less muss and fuss!!

Slabs with tiny video screens so you can see exactly when and how your coin was graded, thus ending any question about authenticity or grade recieved.
PCGS has purchased the San Franciso mint and will produce Proofs themselves under contract with the US Government, and the best of the best will be marketed as MS71, made especially for collectors. First Strike will then truly be the FIRST strike, as in first coin made.
These MS71s will have a long waiting list, and sell for a very high amount of money, to be able to own the documented first coin made. Furthermore, PCGS will allow the person who made it to the top of the waiting list to come to the mint, make the first (of three{!}) strikes, and watch the coin being encapsulated.
PCGS will form it's own country where the only legal currency is slabbed. The more scratches it has, the less face value it will carry.
PCGS bought the ANA.
PCGS will moderate an American Idol like event to find new coin designs from the general public.
Some sort of device that when passed over a coin, it detects if the coin is a genuine example or a counterfit, thus making every single coin collector, dealer and investor need one in their possesion weather they collect PCGS, raw, non-PCGS graded coins or any combination of above. Said device would probably include lasers and a built in knowledge of all US coinage, with some sort of data jack for plug ins from other countries' coinage.
PCGS has convinced the government to make new, circulating coinage from gold and silver, the silver coin bearing a $100 value, the gold a $5000 value, used mainly for interbank purchases and as show-off items for athletes, limited to 100 coins struck a year. Any such coin not issued to circulation at the end of the year transfers to PCGS, which gets to grade it, sell it and keep the profits.
