<<Nah, those aren't die polish lines, just the bonus you get from the fulfillment center's extra buffing and cleaning service that they have added because they felt so bad for delaying shipment.>>

I thought about polishing the reverse, which has no lines, so they match, ya know.

    looks like mine did.

<< <i>Did you pay the $14 hanling fee for the return of the mint box etc? >>

    FS was $10

then when they stopped and started for club members they said one complaint they had was returning the box, etc. They restored FS to the club at $12.

    Now it is $14.

Dealers never wanted the boxes back? They stopped taking in boxes before FS and still raised the price?

You have to declare FS and the $14 fee on the form. E-mail PCGS if you did not.

  • Thanks again for updates.

    Wow, is this confusing.
I did however look at the site and sound the $14 for FS fee, which I did put on form.
Also as added procation put a sticky note on form asking that all packaging be returned.
Did not know of extra cost.
Last time I did not pay enough they were nice enough to call me to OK extra charge.
So we will see if they look at my submission funny and do me right.
I'm more concerned about getting a good grade out of it than anything else.
Could I be so lucky to get a '70 ??? or an '69....
Let's hope mine will do OK............

  • I SEE THE BELLY BUTTON........YAHOO
  • To slab my UHR first strike or not. that is the question.

It looks like a 70 to me under my loupe.

I can get a pcgs member to confirm the thought on Monday locally.

    I can get another.

But this one is very special.

It is in hand and I love it as is.

No slab will make it look better.

    Thoughts

I guess I can crack it out down the road as well too.

    Thank you for any advice

Do you have a link for the pop reports that show this? I've been looking at the PCGS pop report for gold Eagles 1986 to date and it doesn't appear there. Link I know that there is at least 1 MS69, Submission #3900942

On the right upper part of the pop report page you can look up pops by coin number.
The pop report is only updated once a week so even thou there is a known 69 it may not be listed on the pop report yet.

If you go through the shared order pages you will see that more than just 3 were graded ms70. There is one submission where there are 4/4 ms70's. I also saw an ms69 on one submission.

<< <i>Chill imron, I'm responding to the guy flippin chit about flippers. Guys who want more than one are glad some people are willing to sell theirs. If your pissed at flippers blame the mint limit one is why flippers exist. >>

He's just a former flipper, now a self proclaimed anti-flippite, the hiprocracy is astonishing....image >>

If you are referring to me, you should get your facts straight.
I flipped some, and I still flip some. I just don't go out of my way to get 5-10-20 of something and screw others that way. I pretty much play within the mint's rules on this and do things that way. Nothing wrong with staying within the guidelines and flipping as long as collectors get a chance, I say. And, yes, the mint's inadequacy adds to the problem for a true collector.

I also don't appreciate the ones that buy, inspect, say "not a 70", and return it. I have never played that game.

Same for those that buy, counting on PMs going up, and return within the old 30 days to play that game.

It's ones like that that have ruined things going for the rest of us. Not hypocritical at all. Maybe you just wanted to be negative on it or attack me? Or you felt guilty at doing the above, Casman? >>

I was responding to your unsolicited rant, and I think I got it right, you stated in response to who knows what: "Great....more flippers who know nothing but trying to flip...so they can just complain when things don't go right.......great....I'm sure all the collectors who haven't gotten their stuff yet because others crowded it JUST to flip, appreciate it".

That seemed like a complaint about flippers, and since you were or now admittedly are one, and have complained in the past when things didn't go right.

Odds are that anything listed above $4k will remain unsold...
most recent completed eBay auction prices so far indicate....PCGS FS 70's ............. $3000 - $3500 range
    NGC ER 70's... .......$2500 - $3000 range
Those prices will not hold and expect a drop by next week.

  • I wish I had the money. I would give it to 5-10 different friends/relationships and grade them all. Sell what is best, keep 1-2 70's if I have them and that is that. No returns. 10 coins max. I missed out on this game until now and don't think I will be able to play for other personal reasons. I could have but no longer. I really could use the money. I am disabled and have to go through a separation from spouse. Bad timing on that. Bad economy.I keep NOTHING at home. It is all somewhere else. I also borrowed alot of money from mom and she has the notes and needs to be repaid. I could have made the money and paid her. I would have claimed it all on my taxes as well. That would also allow me to take associated deductions (ie:traveling to a show, shipping harges, computer, G3, etc,. ). I have special needs. They include a trained defensive/service dog, and other security measures which I will not discuss but you wouldn't want to mess with.

I think most in our interest are honorable to a degree but I know of ways to track and pin someone. That is why I protect myself.

Do I send my ONE for First Strike grading. PM me please.

If I could get another I would rather it get graded and keep this one. Timing does not permit (or funds)

I can always crack it out.

    Again thoughts please pm me..

I see a few MS70's near completion at EBay with current bids under $2000.00.
Too bad Charlie waited as long as he did as the competition is heating up with one dealer offering a number at $2600, yet shipped.

Think I will keep mine sealed and FS Eligible untill I see a shift one way or the other.

    Really?
The circulating $20 was a major artistic compromise, contradicting St. Gaudens original intentions. The 1907 circulating High Relief was an acceptable compromise, but comparatively speaking, the standard 1907 through 1933 $20 coin is a steamrolled, lame piece of crap. The high relief process is an absolute necessity when portraying a frontal human figure moving forward. The reverse, however is still aesthetically pleasing in low relief.
Although the low relief pancake was a practical alternative, the artistry was lost in the process.

Just got mine too. The magnet that holds the coin up for display is pretty strong. It snaps the wood holder out of my hand. Lots of packaging for just one coin. I'm going to take pictures and........

  • An open question.

Some members have reported problems with the UHR orders (damage of some type).
Some members have said they will hold the sealed box. Seems like a sealed box
could be hiding an issue just as easily as a winner. Any guess on the percentage
    with issues (key word guess).

I see the person on EBAY selling pre orders, not in hand, for $2699.95. Does not look
bad at all when you look at the completed PCGS.

Just an experiment - received 2 UHRs last week. Called the US Mint number to track my received orders and they say that they are "In process". So, I guess even when there isn't a problem, the information from the automated tracking program is uselss.

Still no UHR, and I ordered at 12 minutes after they came out. My boss and sister have theirs, already on the way tp PCGS.

See! Now that's funny, clever but funny! And so it seems the Mint never misses an opportunity to embarrass itself.
