just to be clear... I'm not looking for full order numbers for those who already received the coin unless people want to give that out... I'm just looking for confirmation of the first 5 digits and time&date of the order from those who received the coin...
so if anyone reads this who has received their coin and is willing to provide either the full info (best, since it can be used to prove fifo is not followed, or the partial info, please private message me. I'm going to complain about fifo.
Also, I guess I should congratulate the new lucky golden ticket winners....
no hard feelings... but someone's gotta straighten out PBGS fulfillment ops. it takes leg work and proof that rules aren't being followed.
Since the OIG, along with Mint management, are obviously not avenues to pursue... we're back to my suggestion re: a congresscritter or other well-connected Beltway swamp-dweller.
So: who in Congress is a numismatist? Or who in Congress is sleeping with one?
pp
P.S. I'll give you my full order # and time if/when I ever receive mine. As contrary data point, you can use 30829xxx and noon-thirty-ish as one who has NOT yet received a shipping confirmation (let alone a coin).
i have order number 30826xxx and I was confirmed at 12:15PM and nothing yet. Still on hold with the mint or PBGS whatever this crack heads are called now. 22 minutes in so far
Received mine today UPS-no sig. Order 30828xxx. I really did not expect it do to all of the delays. The box was kind of heavy so I thought it was some Eagles that I ordered. The box is quite impressive. Of course, so is the coin.
Gold and silver are valuable but wisdom is priceless.
the REAL Mint people CAN make things happen... the PBGS people are the ones at 800-USA-MINT and are dropping the ball.
The OIG CAN help... but investigations and results are confidential.
As for congress... there is a palladium UHR bill HR 5614 that was introduced by "Mr. CASTLE (delaware) (for himself and Mr. GUTIERREZ)" and i read somewhere else: Rep Gutierrez, Luis V. [IL-4] - 3/13/2008 Rep Paul, Ron [TX-14] - 4/9/2008 Rep Rehberg, Dennis R. [MT] - 4/9/2008 It was sponsored in the Senate, S.2924, by "Sen. Max Baucus [D, MT] and 1 Co-Sponsors Sen. Jon Tester [D, MT]"
My order number is very low 30826xxx. order confirmed 12:15PM
I have a authorization out for 1189.00 for the coin
The mngmt is aware that the warehouse is not going in any order regardless of order number.
She said to me when they stopped shipping coins like two weeks ago and then the resumed shipping they kinda set our orders to the side and do the more current ones. This is what I interpreted it to mean. She gave me no ship date because they aren't going in any order.
well folks this is just another problem we can assign to this coin.
Calling the PBGS people will get us no place all we can do is sit and wait for that charge on our credit cards and the next day wait at that window for the UPS Or FEDEX truck whatever their using now
Somebody with clout needs to get on the a$$es of management at the warehouse and get them starightened out. This is ridiculous! Orders made well after the initial surge are being filled!? Complete idiocy!
Now that it is confirmed that these are shipping, if I were in Charlie's shoes I'd be selling that First Strike 70 ASAP while it's still the only one... Will likely be thousands of First Strikes by the time early March rolls around...
<< <i>She said to me when they stopped shipping coins like two weeks ago and then the resumed shipping they kinda set our orders to the side and do the more current ones. >>
"Set them to the side" ?? Seriously, what the hell does that mean? These orders are tuples in a fargin' DATABASE! It's not like someone is carrying bushelbaskets of little yellow tickets around. How difficult is it to SELECT * FROM Orders ORDER BY Order_number?

I've contemplated offering working for them for free or for $1.
PCGS has a "Public Friday" every month where you can hand carry in submissions. The next one is March 6th from 10am to 4pm, so for those in the Southern California area that want to make sure they qualify for the "First Strike" label, you can drive down to Santa Ana (it's more like on the border of SA & Irvine) and walk it in.
Collectors Universe Lobby Area 1921 East Alton Avenue Santa Ana CA 92705
PCGS representatives will be available to answer questions and accept submissions for all levels of service from 10am to 4pm. Please call Customer Service for more details. United States call toll free at 800-447-8848.
Just got off the phone with Amex. Charge for the coin is still in the same state it's been in for weeks (i.e. since the CANCEL buttons went away): approved by Amex, but not settled/charged yet.
are any of you actually surprised by what she said to me. this is because they are not going in order so they are just pulling orders and filling without regards to order number. Those who have contacts in DC start your engines
<< <i>are any of you actually surprised by what she said to me. this is because they are not going in order so they are just pulling orders and filling without regards to order number. Those who have contacts in DC start your engines >>
So if I were to order another tonight I should get it bye Friday? Sounds like their sending newer orders first.
What I find kind of funny, you guys sound like a few of us sounded when we were getting bent over by Microsoft casback. I don't remember too much sympathy here. I'm waiting for a UHR also and since they have none of my money (unlike cashback who had over $750 of my money) I'm not worried about it. I'm just sitting back watching the show.
...Yep , my cashback set and waiting for my UHR. Glad to see any movement on the shipping. Perhaps some may have sold these aready and are concerned about buyers canceling...who knows.

I'm new here so I claim ignorance regarding the M$ issue. (That Redmond should be screwing anyone, somehow I'm not surprised.)
I don't have any intention of getting the UHR slabbed so I suppose I don't really have a dog in the fight, per se, but... it's the principle of the thing, dammit! I, along with several thousand of my closest friends, got our orders in within the first hour and, per the rules, we should have received our coins first. Washington seems to have a problem with the concept of "rules" lately. Methinks we needta re-learn 'em.
...."Cashback" didn't have any of YOUR money......you weren't forced to buy anything and it was a rebate.....it wasn't like you sent "Cashback" any money, now was it?
In a way I did send them money. I paid the full price because of their advertised rebate. Sometimes you buy things because they are on sale (or a rebate) OK so I'm a brainwashed consumer but I expect the advertised price.
I called and asked about the coins that were shipped out AFTER my order was placed and mentioned this board and the proof that they were shipped out not in order. She said they were told to not believe message boards and blogs because the information provided there is not true. Worthless conversation... No information on my order at all. She said they should have some shipped in time for Barak Obamas' re-election campaign.
<< <i>I called and asked about the coins that were shipped out AFTER my order was placed and mentioned this board and the proof that they were shipped out not in order. She said they were told to not believe message boards and blogs because the information provided there is not true. >>
Were we dealing with reasonable people, I'd suggest getting a couple of affadavits from recipients and non-recipients. (Then they'd claim, I'm sure, that they no speaka English.)
Call your Critters, people. And yes, this is about more than a silly release of a coin by the Mint. The lizards have gotten away for way, WAY too long with this sort of nonsense. (Insert witty remark about torches and pitchforks)

30827XXX order confirmed at 12:22 and nothing yet.
After seeing the picture posted here, I am extremely pleased with the design. It really does look exactly like the original and rare 1907 ultra high relief coins. The slight modifications do not in any way tamper with St Gauden's Liberty. Now the big problem is placing this coin next to my flat as a pancake 1927 $20 piece. This new UHR really does upstage any "made for circulation" gold coin.

Ps....the trouble with the way this one worked was that it wasn't MS advertising the price, or really paypal, or really ebay.....it was the seller on ebay advertising the price.
