So for the recent lucky people - was it shipped Fed Ex, United Parcel, or Pony Express? And, did you actually have to sign for it, or did they dump it on the door step and dash off?

Just received this e-mail from the Mint at 3:30 EST...Customers’ orders will be shipped on a first-come, first-served basis:
Dear Customer,
The United States Mint is pleased to announce that we will resume shipping of the 2009 Ultra High Relief Double Eagle Gold Coin during the week of February 22, 2009. However, because of production problems with the Companion Book, you may receive only the COIN and presentation box at this time. If you are a customer who receives the COIN without the Companion Book, we will ship the Companion Book to you, at no extra charge, when it becomes available.
If you ordered your 2009 Ultra High Relief Double Eagle Gold Coin between January 22, 2009, and February 9, 2009, you are under the 30-day return policy. If you ordered on or after February 10, 2009, you are under the seven-day return policy. The return timeframe for the 2009 Ultra High Relief Double Eagle Gold COIN and presentation box will begin on the date you receive it. If you are dissatisfied for any reason with your 2009 Ultra High Relief Double Eagle Gold COIN, you may send it back to the United States Mint within the applicable return period for a full refund or replacement. If you return your COIN for any reason prior to receiving the Companion Book, we will cancel your shipment of the Companion Book. If you receive the Companion Book within the applicable return period, you must return both for a full refund.
If your Companion Book is shipped separately, the exchange timeframe for it also will begin on the date you receive it and under the same return policy – 30 days or seven days – as applicable. We will make no refunds for the Companion Book; we will make exchanges for damages only.
Customers’ orders will be shipped on a first-come, first-served basis. You will be notified by email when your order has shipped. If you do not receive the Companion Book with your COIN, you will receive a second e-mail notification when we ship the Companion Book.
If you ordered the 2009 Ultra High Relief Double Eagle Gold Coin between January 22 and February 23, 2009, we expect to ship it by April 24, 2009. If you place your order for the 2009 Ultra High Relief Double Eagle Gold Coin on or after February 24 (and up until March 24, 2009), we expect to ship it by May 24, 2009.
Thank you for your interest in United States Mint products.
Amazing! I do believe nobody in shipping understands FIFO at all. Thanks for posting the pics. >>
Yeah, the only thing I can figure is that they pulled a chunk of 2000 or so UHR orders and are slowly working their way backwards?? Would be way too hard to work front to back... still glad to see folks getting more coins though
I haven't received the e-mail update yet and I'm a 30826XXX, ordered at 12:08, so hoping its first chunk by alphabet or something...
UHR Ordered on 1/22/09 @ 12:08PM Status: Received ... sent to grading
Maybe only people who call and complain three or four times a week get theirs. I haven't called once to complain and havent received any kind of emails about anything.
So for the recent lucky people - was it shipped Fed Ex, United Parcel, or Pony Express? And, did you actually have to sign for it, or did they dump it on the door step and dash off?
UPS not sure about the sig yet, I'll find out when he gets back from the P.O..........update..NO signature, box was left on the front door step
Here is a heads up on the package...................the bottom was NOT taped..see pics..you could easily remove the contents and put them back
edited to remove shipping info at the request of the owner of the coin
Wow, I read the order number wrong... 30864XXX, so they jumped past about 38,000 prior orders! PBGS is deliberately screwing the rest of us, sweet... and is it any coincidence that the later orders were placed at a higher price!!
UHR Ordered on 1/22/09 @ 12:08PM Status: Received ... sent to grading
To those with experience in UPS Next Day Air service: Are they delivered first thing in the morning separate from the normal UPS deliveries which can be in the afternoon and early evening?
This will not make PCGS happy about all the "open" boxes, I imagine.
Doesn't this mean, therefore, that BY ALL MEANS people should open their boxes before the delivery driver gets away, to make SURE what is, or is not, in the box?
*Boy, that First Strike of Charlie's is getting more valuable with every other shipment!!! How can PCGS label FS for a bunch of "opened" boxes?
About the UHL they have made three hits on my card my order number is low 30827xxxx have not received no email except the one that said Feb 22, getting sorta mad about the way the Mint is processing orders, right now no hits have been made to my card, just checked.
No, it's not acceptable, but who in our Mint/government CARES?? No one. They're IT, we can take it or we can leave it. Collectors need them so we bend over and take it.
No dings on my CC yet either. 30835### 1:08 when I finally got my order through.
Got the email from "customers" also and they're talking out both sides of their mouth again (shock!) They resumed shipping the week of 2/22 (translation 2/23 because they don't ship on Sundays). "If you ordered the 2009 Ultra High Relief Double Eagle Gold Coin between January 22 and February 23, 2009, we expect to ship it by April 24, 2009."
By April 24, and they're shipping now? So it doesn't seem to matter if you ordered on 1/22 at 12:01 or 2/23 - you can expect to wait up to 60 more days. FIFO has NO meaning. Anything that makes sense does not apply.
Just WHEN is Director Moy being replaced? Won't be soon enough.
Have bought and sold on BST, many references available when asked.
I just found out something that really ticked me off and made me cuss at the USMINT agent..
I had my CC hit with a pending charge, this is twice in the last three weeks and no coin.
I called today and asked Juanita the agent that answered the damn line at the USMINT, she told me the reason my card is being checked all though my coin won't ship until 4/24 another bull$hit theory, she said, they are making sure people have money available for purchase, if they don't their order will be cancelled.
I think the mint is way out of line folks.. They are doing something that is totally illegal in my mind. Juanita told me that if someone gets a cancelled order, they can put in a request for another coin, but must pay the new price..
Someone should take this matter to the attorney general office if this happens to you. Also the agent told me that people are getting mad and cancelling their orders and this is a good thing for people like me and you because she said in a meeting at the USMINT,they are having a difficult time getting more Gold vs the in stock quanity that has not been shipped yet and customers Credit cards not charge..
So, I am mad at the fact of this unlawful practice and I, guess I. will wait whenever to receive my coin..
Ordered my second just under the wire - yesterday, 2/24... saved some dough, but shipping on THIS one pushed out to 5/23... no early release on this one, clearly, but the first one I ordered - at $150 less!!! - supposed to ship 3/6... dream on, Obiwan!!
By the way, was that video warehouse accident truly within the MINT warehouse, or just some convenient footage from elsewhere?
UBERCOINER
A Truth That's Told With Bad Intent Beats All The Lies You Can Invent
After many tries today, I finally got through to the Mint/PBGS phone reps and was told that my order (#30836xxx) had been sent to the warehouse on Monday. Still no more info on when it might ship, nada.
I wonder, too , how a 3084xxxx order gets filled before the many that precede it...FIFO my a$$
My original pending charge from more than two weeks ago is still there. That was the day the Cancel boxes went away and I thought the UHR was on its way. Glad I didn't hold me breath...

Almost.

Some customers have sent me email from the US Mint?
If it wasn't for the fact I recognized (sorta) the UH1, it would have gone in the trash.
