That's a great list, Greg -- thanks for posting it. I follow the HOF discussions on PFRA and Zoneblitz pretty closely, and while the Senior Committee doesn't make any official announcements, there are a few names that you might want to consider adding based on info that has been leaked from the past couple meetings. Specifically Ed Meador ('63 Topps), Roger Brown ('63 Topps), Mike Curtis ('69 Topps), and Joe Klecko ('78 Topps) have been rumored to be in the top 10-15 the last couple years. Of course to get an actual nomination they would have to jump over the really strong candidates like Howley, Kramer, and Robinson, but the committee does make odd choices from time to time.
You might also want to consider putting more contributors on your list beyond Sabol, Tagliabue, Wolf, and Young. Those are all excellent choices, but the HOF is putting added emphasis on contributors and will send eight of them directly to the finalist stage of voting in just the next five years. I could see quite a few nominations from the following: Modell, DeBartolo Jr., Robert Kraft, Jerry Jones, Bill Polian, Bobby Beathard, Art McNally, Jerry Seeman, and Gil Brandt. Some of those guys don't have cards, but McNally and Seeman are in 1991 Pro Set, Polian and Beathard might be in police sets, and Jones has a 1995 Pacific Crown Royale.
Finally, I will take one more opportunity to voice my support for keeping the Action Packed cards for Sharpe, Kennedy, and Seau. It's been my understanding that the Score Supplemental was only designated an RC for Emmitt Smith because he does not have a card in the 1990 Score regular set. But Kennedy and Seau do have cards in the regular set, thus their Supplemental cards are not technically RC's. The Beckett website does not have the RC designation by the Supplemental cards, for example. Surely we should prefer that the choices for the signed HOF rookie card set be actual rookie cards. (For this reason, I am also against using a 1991 card for Sharpe.) The Action Packed cards are a pain, but they do seem to best fit the criteria by which all the other choices were made.
I'd like to get a rookie card signed by Cameron Wake. What is everyone's opinion on his "best" rookie card? The three possible cards are 2011 Panini Adrenalyn XL, 2011 Topps or 2011 Score. I don't think any one is better than the others. My vote is for Topps. Thoughts?

I don't have one nor have I seen one. But I know one exists because a large lot of signed All Americans sold in a 2005 Mastro Net Auction and he was listed. The lot came both PSA/DNA as well as JSA authenticated.
Really nice stuff Nevets . I have 17 All-Americans signed. I regret not getting Don Hutson signed before he died . Even guys that died from 1996 to 2003 are somewhat tough to find . I wish I got them signed earlier. Only 2 players are still living Lujack and Donn Moomaw. I don't know how many died before 1955 . I saw an Albie Booth on Ebay go for $99 and it was obviously Fake .

Thank you and there is one more Bo McMillin 1952 . There is 11 or 12 of the 100 that aren't in the College Football Hall of Fame . Brud Holland is the Only African American in the set, he was ambassador to Sweden under Nixon . Chub Peabody was Governor of Massachusetts , Cotton Warburton won an Oscar for Editing Mary Poppins , Aaron Rosenberg was a movie producer , and of course Byron White was a Supreme Court Justice .
Red Cagle was the last card I needed when I built the set . I got addicted to the set when I bought a big lot of them on Teletrade .
Any idea what JJ Watt's "the card" to get signed should be? Topps Chrome? Donruss Elite? Score? Panini Certified? He's doing a signing and I was thinking of sending something in.
OK, cool. Appreciate the input. I'm going to get a Topps Chrome signed. The SP Authentic has him in a Wisconsin uniform. The Topps Chrome is at the Combine but that seems a bit better. For the record, if we wanted to proceed forward from 02-14 with two qualifying cards, it wouldn't upset me in the least.

I think that Edelman has two "mainstream" rookie cards - Topps Platinum and Gridiron Gear. I don't think either of those are numbered. He also has a SPx rookie card - but I think those are numbered below /999. Do you have access to Beckett pricing to check whether the Topps Platinum or Gridiron Gear are more expensive?
As for Antonio Brown - there seem to be quite a few unsigned rookie cards. Does someone have access to Beckett pricing to check which unsigned rc is more expensive?

I think that Edelman has two "mainstream" rookie cards - Topps Platinum and Gridiron Gear. I don't think either of those are numbered. He also has a SPx rookie card - but I think those are numbered below /999. Do you have access to Beckett pricing to check whether the Topps Platinum or Gridiron Gear are more expensive?
As for Antonio Brown - there seem to be quite a few unsigned rookie cards. Does someone have access to Beckett pricing to check which unsigned rc is more expensive?
Rgs,
Greg M.
As for Brown,
<< <i>Greg, with regard to Brown, I think this may be the best
Donruss Elite
either that or
Donruss
But if we're going by the /999 or more rule, the Elite seems like the right choice.
For Edelman, whet do you think of:
Topps Platinum
What's the circulation on Topps Platinum? It's really the only unsigned mainstream card for Edelman in 2009. >>
