Yep - paid $50 plus I provided the sharpie. I don't screw arond anymore...I send the cash and the sharpie. Most (but not all) of the players happily oblige except for Adderley, Tarkenton, Hadl and Alworth who for whatever reason used their own marker. In every instance but Alworth, the auto turned out worse than if they would have used the sharpie that I provided.

Man...this thread has been quiet lately! I received my cards back from the San Jose show and the results were mixed. I'm extremely disapointed with the Rayfield Wright (the signature was smeared all over the bottom of the card)...plus two of the other autographs were feathered. I e-mailed the promoter and voiced my displeasure.

just looked it up -139 and 159- sheesh. thats 2 months rent for me... kapow!

I really hope your kidding about the 2 months rent. For me $139 and $159 (combined= $298) is about 5.5 days rent for my basic 2 bed, 1100 sq ft apt in the DC suburbs of virginia.

Some new stuff to show off!

The 74 IRs are what I would consider the first cards for Dan Fortmann and Lamar Hunt.

The Bills cards is signed by Ralph Wilson Jr. The 56 Colts card was TTM from Don Shula, and the other Colts team card was signed by Gene Lipscomb (tough sig!), John Mackey, and Raymond Berry.

Guys,

I'm going to start a new thread regarding a new registry set that Reese and I are proposing. We want to create a NFL HOF signed rc set....which will exclude any HOFers that don't have rookie cards. I love collecting the HOF auto set, however the frustrating aspect is that a handful of HOFers are currently imposssible to obtain (since they didn't have cards made of them while they were alive and card companies have not yet released cut auto'd cards of them).

Please read the thread and provide any feedback that you have.

Finally...2 new additions. Both were E-bay pickups last week. The Hickerson was simply listed as "Gene Hickerson autographed card" and didn't include the year or card company. I paid around $200 for the pair which was a good price.
