Finally - I'm starting to get several cards back that have been outstanding forever. I received 2 1988 Fleer cards signed by Ralph Wilson that have been outstanding for over a year, 2 cards signed by Lawrence Taylor (1982 rc and 1984 Topps), 3 cards signed by Ted Hendricks (he signed a 1976 Topps, 1979 Topps and 1984 Topps but not my 1972 rc), plus I received back my cards from the Oaks, PA show (including a 1963 Topps signed Larry Wilson and 1961 Fleer signed Don Maynard). Overall - not too bad. I wish that Maynard signed his rc in a sharpie color other than silver...but it still looks ok.
By the way, Don Coryell is signing within the next month for $100/per flat...in case anyone needs him for the future HOF auto set.
I now have 91 rc signed plus 10 outstanding TTM and 2 being signed at upcoming shows.

I'll be attending the Chicago Sun Times show next month on Saturday. Look at the autograph guests and tell me who you need. If I get enough interest, I may get a few items signed for people (flat items only...I don't want to drag helmets or jerseys).
FYI - Biletnikoff is signing for $29!!

Homemade. Have had the IC for a few years, wanted to get a prettier IC, but couldn't find one. The back is the back of the SP card, so it looks like the real thing, only larger.
Looking to have some custom cuts or plain custom cards built? PM me.
Just added a signed John Mackey rc from the recent private signing. You can tell that his signature has really deteriorated over the past several years. We're lucky that he's even able or willing to sign.
I also bought a signed 1976 Topps Lynn Swann for $20..which was a great price (considering he charges nearly $200 to sign).

Forget about Tittle TTM. I'd tried twice with no dice. I've heard that you may be able to get him to sign something through his Insurance agency, however your best chance is at the upcoming San Jose show (which Reese posted).
McElhenny is a great TTM signer. I've had 9 separate successes (9 for 9) over the past 2 years (most recent in August) and I always include $10 cash per card and have never had a problem.
Even though Butkus has been signing more TTM lately, I'd rather pay for an auto at a show...to avoid the autograph being personalized. I think that he normally charges b/t $50 and $70 depending on the location/promoter.
Hope that helps.

Pretty sweet to have that many done, Reese. I'm at 30 with 14 out in the mail and Biletnikoff being signed in Chicago this weekend. Of my mail ones, I only expect 5 back (I have a Mackey out too). The crazy thing is that I have a bunch of the raw cards ready to be signed (Deacon Jones, YA Tittle, Mike Ditka, Don Maynard, Bobby Bell, Larry Wilson, Dick Butkus etc.) but really can't afford to pay big signing fees.
Some of the ones that have been out in the mail forever and don't expect back are Mackey, Andy Robustelli, Lee Roy Selmon, Joe Delamellieure, Herb Adderley, Bob Griese (someone told me he pockets rookie cards recently), Ken Houston, Jan Stenerud and Randy White.
Ones that I'm hopeful for a return on are Joe Greene, Gale Sayers, Art Donovan, James Lofton, Hugh McElhenny and Bob St Clair (but paid the standard low fees for these guys)
You are right, some of the fees are crazy especially at shows. I refuse to pay some of these high prices when you can find a rc card already signed on ebay if you are patient for a portion of the price.
I'm really surprised by some of the guys you haven't got back, especially Robustelli and Delamellieure who are both great signers. Hopefully you'll get some of those cards back!
During this journey, there has only been one card I missed that I really regret and that was a Joe Stydahar 52 Bowman Large. I really think I screwed up by not bidding more and letting that one pass. Hopefully another will show up! Other than that, I'm really happy with the progress I've made so far!

Thanks for posting your list. By the way, Charley Taylor signs for $10 TTM. I sent him 4 cards, $40 cash and a sharpie and he signed all 4 beautifully. It would be cheaper than the show. Also, I think that Rayfield Wright signs...although he normally takes a while. I'm going to send off 4 or 5 cards plus $10 per auto soon...as soon as I can find a reasonably priced rc.
Mike,
Here are my comments on the outstanding TTM's that you listed:
Mackey - As of Jan 2009, he has stopped signing TTM (although there are still occasional private signings) Andy Robustelli - I'm surprised...I just received a signed rc last week. He may take up to 6 weeks to respond Lee Roy Selmon - he's hit or miss. I sent 2 cards to USF Athletics and he hasn't resonded. Joe Delamellieure - he signs TTM for $5 per auto. Did you include a donation? Herb Adderley - he signs TTM for $5 per auto but may take awhile. It's taken up to 6 months for him to respond to my TTM request Bob Griese - I did have a rc swiped, however I sent 4 cards. I bought another rc and mailed it along with a $10 donation. I haven't receivced it back yet. Ken Houston - hasn't responed to TTM in nearly 3 years Jan Stenerud - I think that his business closed because my TTM request was RTS earlier this year. You'll have to wait for a new address to be verified because he does sign TTM (and charges $10 per auto I believe) Randy White - I wouldn't waste the postage. He is very inconsistent and has practically stopped signing TTM since 2006.
Hope that helps.

That Stydahar was amazing. He also has an Otto Graham and Norm Van Brocklin that I was drooling over...but couldn't pull the trigger. What's amazing is that was the second 52 Bowman set that I've seen broken and I still haven't seen a signed Steve Owen card (besides the one that you bought which was rejected by PSA).

I'm falling way behind you! LOL! How did you get Swann?
Has anyone every seen any of the signed RCs from the National Chicle set? I stopped looking a long time ago for those!
I really wonder at this point if we are going to come across another Owen. I've saved scans of that card and everyone I show says it looks like every other Owen signature they have seen. In retrospect, I should have probably sent it to JSA, but that card was so expensive I didn't want to risk not getting my money back. That was a really dissapointing transaction though, and I still wonder whether it is legit or not.

Had my Matson finally returned with a note stating the Mr. Matson is no longer able to sign TTM (one of my very few failures). They returned the card and my donation after holding it for about 6 months.
Adderley is notoriously slow in responding (6 months or more is not unusual), but he eventually gets around to it. Also, Robustelli is typically quick. I had to wait awhile on Griese and Fouts, but they eventually came through.
<< <i>Greg, how long has your Ollie Matson been out? I was under the impression that he didn't sign anymore. >>

Thanks for providing the Owens scan. I just saved it to my computer (I have around 100 exemplars saved to my computer of NFL HOF auto's). That really, really sucked because I still question whether that autograph was good. It it was a fake, then it was a darn good one.
Thanks for pointing out the Swann - that was a mistake. As a matter of fact, I only have 91 (not 94) because I sold my Adderley (I have another one out TTM) and I sold all 3 of the Newsome auto'd rc's because the auto's weren't very nice. I need to buy another rc and send it out. For some reason, all 3 rc's that I sent to Newsome were signed w/ crappy markers.
I have never seen a signed 35 Chicle of any player. I'd like to get Kercheval to sign his Chicle card but can never find one for a reasonable price. I really should just break down and get him to sign it. He's the only player left alive from the set. I think the 35 Chicle set wasn't widely collected which is why you don't see a ton of cards out there.

Greg M.

If anyone has interest, I do have a PSA/DNA (blue flip) 1948 Bowman Sid Luckman that I'll part with (it was certified earlier this Spring). I'm still looking for one from the Leaf set, though.
I picked up another low grade Robustelli. I had sent one in June with no success so far and someone said they got one back recently. Does he need money for his signature?

I'd like to get a few cards signed at the San Jose show including Willie Brown, Len Dawson and Dan Marino (I also want to get a Marino GLA signed).
I also have a ton of signed future HOF rc's including Floyd Little, Dick LeBeau, Chris Hanburger, Tommy Nobis, Ken Anderson, ect...
Rgs,
Greg M.

<< <i>You are right, some of the fees are crazy especially at shows.
Reese,
That Stydahar was amazing.
Rgs,
Greg M.

Since Feb 09. I really hope that I get my card and $20 back.... There were a few successes back in Dec 08 / Jan 09 but those may have been secretarial signed.

Greg M.

Rgs,
Greg M.
