Now the joke is on you guys. The Sox can't seem to get a upper hand on a Rays team with a FRACTION of the payroll of the glutenous big spending team from Boston. A one and done will certainly bring great joy and laughter for many.

I have been impressed by the Red Sox out in California. Now I am thinking that a Sox / Rays ALCS will be thrilling.
I have not read back posts to see if the obvious Sox fan hacks have been lambasting my ONE and DONE posts. Afterall, Sox fans do not follow baseball historically after the Sox are out of it. They think it is payback of some sort ... anyway.

Dan thanks for stopping by, classy move showing your mug here after your ONE and DONE comments
However this series is NOT over by any stretch as I dont think we have seen the Angels best play so far, I like our chances but like I said we got alot more baseball left!
Nah, not classy Paul. Just reality. What am I supposed to do? Yell that the Sox SUCK after going to CA and take two on the road? I thought the Angels would handle the Sox. Yeah its not over but in a 5 game series and the road team takes the first two ... well .... that is impressive.
got home at 3 AM from Fenway last night (this morning?). Certainly got plenty of entertainment for the price. The Sox need some punch 7-9 (hell, after last night I might add 2-3 too). If Pedroia and Ortiz get one hit each, the outcome is different. Dustin needs to wake up like a certain second baseman did back in 2004!

Pedroia actually has hit the ball well, but so far right at an Anaheim/LA/California Angel!
What is going on with our lineup? If not for the little guys, and bay we would have been swept! Our bats better get crackin or get packin. I was disgusted tonight..Go sox
Congrats fellas! Anothr ugly game. Oh well, hope we can sign Tex this off season and with Escobar comimg back, I'm sure we'll see you next year. No biggy if we lose Frankie and I hope the Kids, Kendrick and Aybar, get some experience out of this and play ball like they did all year

The Angels have one heck of a team, fantastic starting pitching and a great manager - they will definitely be back. Texiera would be a great signing, maybe they sign him and re-sign Vlad, and let K-Rod go. They played a tough series, and the Sox were fortunate to come out of there tonight with a W.

Its an option year for Vladdy, and I'm sure the Angels will pick it up. Vladdy has stated that he wants to retire as an Angels. Garret Anderson is one that I can't put my finger on. He's an FA also
First...a BIG high-5 to the Angels team and management!! They played us tough and it could easily have gone their way. It's the uniqueness of baseball, one inning you're on top of the world and seem like you've got a lock, then fate steps in and the pendulum swings the other way.
I think the suicide squeeze was a bit of poor judgement, the Red Sox were well aware that Scosia may well try that with their best bunter at the plate. I would rather Tek had tossed the ball to Youk, but it worked out nicely for us. How about the two catches by
I REALLY enjoyed the after game antics in the outfield with several Red Sox players spraying the cop that always sits in the bullpen and opens the gate for the incoming pitcher with a knuckle bump. He got royally sprayed with a hose and champagne. Papelbon was of course, Papelbon, spraying the crowd and acting like a kid at Christmas, just fun stuff to watch. I'm not sure I get the champagne all over the place in the clubhouse, but that seems to be a thing all teams do, for reasons that make no sense to me...much like they do after a NASCAR win. They could probably make a fortune on eBay by selling those water goggles.
I'm now a BIG Phillies fan. You can bet your last dollar that the former Red Sox player who wore # 24, is salivating over the thought of hitting some over the monster and crush his former teammates. Seeing Lowe and Nomar back at Fenway in LA uniforms would bring back the memories of Wade and Clemens in pinstripes. GO Phillies!!
Helluva game, great win. I'll go Red Sox in six. IF Ortiz and others can get their bats in action, I think we have a better than even chance to repeat as WS champs.
Question of the day how many pieces of bubble gum does Tito chew in a game??"
Edmund - I would guess it would go Dice-K, Lester, Beckett to start with. Normally I'd want Lester going 1st (since he's the ace, but if he pitches Friday that would be on 4 days rest and it seems unnecessary since it will have been a long time since Dice last pitched. I don't know if Beckett is injured or just off his game, but it seems like the extra rest could be good for him (or it could just make him rusty?).
Al - I loved watching the celebration too, especially with Papelbon and the cop. Papelbon was so juvenile, but I thought that including the cop in the celebration actually showed some down-to-earth class too. And for the record, I don't have a problem with juvenile celebrations. I think it's a good reminder that there's always going to be that kid in us that dreams of winning games in October and I love seeing that come out in the guys that we root for all year every year.
As for the Rays series? Well, it doesn't seem to be getting any easier for us, does it? After taking on the best team in baseball (record wise) we've got to take on someone that played us tough all season. While the Angels series should teach us that you can't put too much stock in what happened during the regular season, I think that the lopsided home victories for both teams suggests that the Rays should be slightly favored in this series. If we can manage to split one of the first two games in Tampa though I think the Sox will come through. It'll be more important that Beckett steps up in this longer series though.

Ooops hold on...................
What's everyone having for breakfast ?
Well, I'll be having 3 eggs over easy, with 3 links of sausage, and perhaps 3 pieces of toast. I'll probably wash
that down with 3 cups of coffee.
Afterwards, I'll probably sit back, enjoy reading boston.com, and ask the wife to sweep up the mess
