Feed Ms. Andrews a few nice dinners and she will be nice and healthy looking like Heidi.

Looks like Lugo is starting to see the writing on the wall. I really felt bad when I heard he might have had a setback in his rehab. image

Yea he is certainly welcome to take as much time as he needs- hopefully enough time to ride out the season.
  • ctsoxfanctsoxfan Posts: 6,246 ✭✭
If he comes back, he'll split time with Lowrie. I know this isn't popular, but they won't just let him sit there.

In the off season, they could trade him.

I agree with you: they will have to play Lugo if he comes back, at least part time. If they don't play him it will drastically diminish his trade value for the off-season. I'd like to see them try to showcase some of his versatility too. If Pedroia needs a day off, they could swing him over to 2nd like the article suggested. Maybe utilize him as a pinch runner more (assuming the hamstring is healed).

Saw Hazel a few weeks ago in person, I was not overly impressed. I think she just got out of work and had about 6 lbs of Bronzer/tanning crap on her face and is about 5'1"...

I'd hit it, but Heidi WANTme takes the cake by a mile on this one...and for the record I like foreign/dark hair girls better but Hazel in person let me down a bit.

    Hazel Mae......Hazel Mae not!

Could be Von had something with that poking Heidi thing. Varitek, BTW has filed for divorce in a county just north of Atlanta, maybe he lives here in the off season. He was a GA Tech star with Nomar.

Anyway, it is NICE to see Tek on the ball again. A good win, but we gotta keep going. Twins and the "we can't lose" Rays are winning again tonight.

BTW, Tropical Storm Fay is less than 100 miles away, but barely a damn drop here and we need it so badly. Crazy to see all those orange and red rain bands so close, but no go.

    Have a good weekend all.

Nice to get a little payback on those freakin' Jays!
  • MCMLVToppsMCMLVTopps Posts: 4,861 ✭✭✭✭✭
Screwed again by Directv, no Red Sox game for me today. How on earth could they not broadcast the damn game when it's a fairly important series with the Jays, yet broadcast games that mean absolutely nada? Odd how many times this happens on a Saturday.

For those that will get the game, enjoy. I'll be checking from time to time.

  • ctsoxfanctsoxfan Posts: 6,246 ✭✭
It's B.S. - you can blame MLB and Fox for this. They have an "exclusive" window on any games played on Saturday afternoons and ESPN has the same on Sunday nights, so they can't carry these games unless they are on either Fox or ESPN.

Wow, 11-0 in the 8th. I guess the wheels came off today, kinda glad I didn't watch. I am still amazed at the number of Red Sox games on Saturday that I didn't get to see. I sure as hell ain't gonna watch the Braves at St Louis on Fox, I'd rather watch grass grow...and I live in Atlanta, wouldn't go to a Braves game if I could sit in any seat for free. What PATHETIC fans here!!

    There's always tomorrow.

"The answer was in the Patriots eyes. Gone were the swagger and c0ck sure smirks, replaced by downcast eyes and heads in hands. For his poise and leadership Eli Manning was named the game's MVP. The 2007 Giants were never perfect nor meant to be. They were fighters, scrappers....now they could be called something else, World Champions."

Gotta Love PAPI! He made a statement that was repeated in the Herald today- "Make sure you wave at us during the Parade" LOL He is confident we will win the World Series this year! Again I love the spirit but HE needs to start smashing the ball to help us do what he thinks we can do!
  • ctsoxfanctsoxfan Posts: 6,246 ✭✭
Awesome game! We needed that one.

And yeah, why are you posting here JS? You're a Blue Jay fan now? Why don't you go and check ESPN and see how the other 82 sucky teams you root for did today.

Talk is cheap, didn't he just go 0-8? He needs to let his bat do some talking. There's plenty of time for rah rah, but there's barely 30 games to go and much work ahead, especially with our injuires. Good thing we have a day off to let Jacoby heal up a bit. Thank God the sunglasses didn't break and go into his eye when he slammed the wall. What BUSH LEAGUE, CHUMP-ASSED, LOW LIFE FANS in Toronto to boo while they were tending to Jacoby.

Helluva win today!! HRs from Coco and Lowrie of all people. Rays lose. imageimage

You guys gotta see the final inning of the White Sox game!! Piersinski caught between 2nd and 3rd in a run down, but the Rays 3rd baseman was called for interference...Piersinski to 3rd, story over. Piersinski musth've gone to acting school, but it worked!

Boy oh boy, have you guys checked out the Red Sox schedule for September? ROUGH!! If they make the playoffs, they will certainly have earned it. The Yankee's schedule isn't easy either.

I've been in Alaska for more than a week, let me see if I understand how things are going...

JD Drew is regaining his Nancy Drew moniker and is out/headed to the DL?
Lowell is still out, hopefully recovering
Luso is almost off the DL but Lowrie has won the job
Beckett had a terrible start (or two?) and is injured, maybe on the DL?
Varitek did something good? Raised his average to nearly the mid 220s?
Still looking at five games in the loss column behind the Rays? One in front of MN for the wild card?

Where am I mistaken and what did I miss? Too much catching up to do in all things

    Barn -

Ortiz is in a huge slump and if I heard correctly, Wakefield starts game one of the Yankee series tomorrow. Buccholz has been sent to Siberia (Portland, ME Seadogs). Lots of hope that Colon is back in shape. Heidi has filed a restraining order against Perkdog for stalking. image

I think you are now caught up.

BTW, how was the trip and when do we get our salmon package??

thanks for the update! I saw Heidi interviewing Lowrie last night image

So Ortiz is a Varitek wannabe, got it. Glad Suchholz is in AA, that's where he needed to be in the last six games I saw him pitch.

This upcoming series in NY will be the last time the Sox play in Yankee Stadium, ever. How sad. image

But seriously, Lowell might be ready to play this weekend, and Beckett is slated to start Friday. I'm not sure what is up with Drew, and it seems neither does Francona. He has issues with his back, but they seem to be disagreeing on whether or not he's headed to the DL.

Phew! I think Im finally sobering up after two fantasy football drafts this weekend! Didnt watch much Red Sox action but caught our last comeback win against the Jays! That was a huge W! All these games coming up are huge in September, Im very dissapointed however that we havnt made up much ground taking advantage of the Rays losing some studs- ofcourse a few of us getting hurt doesnt help the cause.

I'll drink to that! image And then I'm going to say a silent prayer of thanks that we're not saying goodbye to Fenway Park any time soon.
  • ctsoxfanctsoxfan Posts: 6,246 ✭✭
Fenway Park isn't going anywhere. They just keep adding seats everywhere they can, but are smart enough to realize that the charm is in keeping the classic ballpark intact. Never say never, because money talks, but I think it would take a lot of convincing to build a "new" Fenway.

  • ctsoxfanctsoxfan Posts: 6,246 ✭✭
Jeez, looks like Drew is going to the DL - and Bailey is getting the start at 1b tonight (I guess Casey can't play). So, our 6-9 is Lowrie, Crisp, Bailey, and Varitek.

    Enjoy your free outs NY!

let's put a positive spin on it (at least until the first pitch is thrown): hey, we got a bunch of righties and switch hitters to face Petitte! Sweet, good move Tito!

Fenway is a dump. Is it less of a dump then it was 10 years ago - certainly. Look, I've been to countless Sox games there but (and I promise I'm not Ted Sarandis) other cities have a distinct advantage with these new parks. Is the new right field underbelly much better than my first game in 1985, definitely, but have you guys been to other ballparks? The concourses and seats and pavilions at Camden, whatever they call Jacobs field now and other new parks put Fenway to shame. I love the old gal too. I went to at least 10 games/year for like 15 straight years at one point and didn't miss a playoff game at home for 9 years (95-03), but one of these days we need to shed a few tears and usher in a new park.
  • TheVonTheVon Posts: 2,725
Come on, Lowrie is much better than a "free out." He is hitting .362 against lefties this year.
  • Cheers - I propose a toast to a Sox Sweep!! image
  • They just showed Tiger Woods at the game, who do you suppose he's rooting for?
