Okay, once Big Papi comes back I think Theo should start shopping Coco again and I think he needs to look for a quality reliever to bolster the pen. I would contact the A's for starters and see if they want to trade starter-turned-reliever Chaud Gaudin.
That's not a bad idea, especially for when he first comes back. It would be a good way to ease back into the game and keep his inning count down (not that the prolonged DL stint hasn't already done that) for a playoff run.
Who would have ever thought JD Drew and 'one of the hottest players in baseball' would have been used in the same sentence? Another nice outing for Lester!

Ortiz will have to fight for that #3 spot the way Drew is tearing the cover off the ball! Unbelievable. Theo is breathing a sigh of relief.
It couldn't hurt. That's why we've got Cora, isn't it?
BTW, I looked up Papi's career stats as a #5 hitter. They aren't quite as good as his #3 hitter stats, but they aren't bad. I think with Lowell hitting behind him he'd have enough protection that he would still see a lot of hittable pitches.

<< <i>Go O's. Keeping my fingers and toes crossed. Preparing for heartbreak. >>

By the way, the O's won. I prepare for a serious beating tommorrow night.

Speaking of relief, we need some in the pen
<< <i>Papi should take one for the team and agree to hit 5th while Drew is being Drew and not "Blew." >>
I hate to admit it, but I agree.
Ellsbury (L)
Pedroia (R)
Drew (L)
Ramirez (R)
Ortiz (L)
Lowell (R)
Youkilis (R)
Varitek (S)
Luso (R)
not a bad lineup when you see someone like Youkilis in the seven spot. Could provide a good mix of lefties/righties too
