Jason - I don't have a sense yet. I'm halfway through my case, and I've been busting at work. I've been putting every 7th card aside, which is where all the chromes and inserts are located. I'm making an assumption that the vast majority of what's left is a SP, but won't find that out until I'm done busting and sorting (hopefully late tonight).
I'll put up some scans as soon as I get home (hopefully about 90 minutes from now).

You da man tonight Geordie, the most popular guy on the block by a long way. Here's hoping the black refractor you pulled is Kemp, Martin, or one of your other young boys in Blue (since I know it's not Brett Butler)...
As far as SVU18, I sent him an email the other day through ebay (before he was NARU'd) and filed a dispute. I'll have to give him a call this week. Disappointed but right now I just hope to get my money back.
Goes to show that you can't go wrong with reputable dealers even though a guy has perfect feedback.

Joe - so far I need 'em all except the Ortiz and Cabrera. Five more boxes to go. How'd you do on the rest of your case? Any more ink?
I put in a lowball offer on that Minoso seat - I think $100 is a pretty fair price for that card.
And I haven't seen any patches show up yet - I think they were on the sell sheet. A part of me wants to see them surface, but a bigger part of me is hoping that Topps kept patches out of Heritage. One more thing that separates it from most of the other sets out there. Patches look nice and all, but the potential for forgery is pretty tempting, especially for a highly collected set like this.

Nice Dice K & Wang refractors. Those'll do well either in trade or sale.
Did you get any kind of handle on SPs? I thought I was doing well with the extra 7th cards. I found a Pujols there once, but if I'm not mistaken, I also saw a Pujols in spot 5 or 6. I'll bust my remaining boxes, and then get to sorting, I guess.
I'm actually employing a different trading strategy this year. I'm trading for refractors first, then chromes, then SPs. I always end up with a TON of extra SPs, and short on both the chrome and ref sets. Should have some goodies FT in the next couple of days, but keep me in mind if anyone pulls any refs they want to trade.

Jeff - I saw a couple of seats go for $45 - Kurt bought one of them. Are we sure the Minoso seats are going to be as tough as the regular relic, though? I didn't see group odds on the seat relics on the bottom of the box.
Box 8 yields three chrome (Rollins, Smoltz, Kinsler), 1 refractor (Bannister), NAP Arod & Howard (NAPs always seem to be the toughest set, don't they?) & 1 seat relic (Frank Robinson).
edit: forgot the buyback, which broke the number streak. This one was #234 Chuck Tanner. Not unhappy with that one.
Box 9 yields four chrome (ARod, Cain, Miggy Cabrera, Bannister), NAP Ortiz & Wright), Dmitri Young relic, buyback Moe Thacker (2nd straight Cub) which is seriously OC.
Box 11 was a bit of mixed blessing. This is the 2nd box of the case that did not yield the promised relic or auto. I will be sending some UPC codes and wrappers to Topps it appears. I did pull another buyback (Del Rice), three chromes, the normal coupla NAPs, Flashbacks & the like, and this:
My first nice Dodger pull in Heritage history! Pretty nice-looking card!
aaaaannnnddd done. Last box is ripped - Miguel Tejada relic, Dontrelle Willis refractor, three chromes (Rios, Vlad Guerrero, Papi), all the other standard stuff. Got my first damaged card in the third to last pack, which looks like it might be a Moises Alou SP.
All in all, a fun rip. Two blacks ain't bad, especially when it's one of my guys. A total of 10 relics (8 CC & 2 FB), one blue ink, 7 refractors, 35 chrome (all different), a whole mess of black backs, and Lord knows how many SPs. Can't wait for the SP list to post. Gonna start sorting now, starting with the black backs. Oh, for the inserts, it looks like a case should get those done, unlike last year. I only ended up missing one insert, which is NAP13. I did end up with six dupe NAPs, so it'll be easy to kill that off.
I believe it was reported that the black back set was 88 cards - it is actually 110. I only had one of 6 or 7 of them, at least dupes of everything else.
OK, finally got everything sorted out into 100s. OK, this list is now updated from #170 on up. The following cards only appeared once (a few of them not at all) in my case. The list below contains cards that only appeared twice, so some of those may be SPs, too.

I can't understand the value of the buyback cards. An old, ungrade '59 -- that you can purchase on EBay for pennies? I'd rather just have the 3-player panels and a checklist so I could put together an entire set. Or is it just the same three-player on the panel?
Geordie Great job.... I almost hate to ask, but did you notice any lightback, dark backs in the cards ? I understand the '59s had that feature Regards, Charlie G
Paul Didn't you post the sequence and features of the '58s last year which matched up to the 2007 Heritage ? Do you have the same list for the 59's Good hunting on your case (s) Regards, Charlie G
