Correct on all counts Craig. In my emails with him I did everything but say "I will make sure I find you" (but in a non threatening tone), and he stands by the fact that my case will be sent.
I've talked to SVU18 on the phone, although that was regarding my original paypal payment, nothing to due with the recent delivery issues. But as of early January, his phone number in Ebay was current.
I did order a back up case from LRCards, and I am no naive huckleberry, but I think svu is scrambling to make as much right as possible whether it be refunds or delivering product. I'm also not trying to be his apologist because he has $550 of my hard earned money in his pocket, but he is trying to be "stand up" by answering emails and not running away. All I can say is we shall see.
Actually the 06 stuff is becoming hard to come by! I've been looking for cheap stuff and its not out there like it was all the way up until last summer.
I'm thinking about buying some 05 loose packs. I'll let you guys know the prices when I hear from the gentelman. He has 04 05 and 06.

I'm curious what the long term effect on heritage packs and boxes will be. We all know every year more and more people get hooked on this stuff,but they also see that past releases had more value to them. 07 might be an exception..neither a really strong auto list or a chrome list. I would love to open some 01, 02 or 03 again.
I just got done checking svu's feedback , more negatives but looks like refund was received. He now does not have anything up for sale. His phone # is on the Paypal history where you look at details of your transaction.
I sent him an email in which I was very nice , wished him the best on dealing with his problems but also asked for an update on whether to expect product or a refund. Let's hope he responds.

I opened a bunch of 02 in 02, but then I kind of got sidetracked with life and didn't open anymore until last year. I've built my sets mainly on singles, lots and near sets. i'm hoping to open a bunch of 08 stuff this year, as well as finish off my 03 and 05 sets.
I've asked this before, but didn't get (or at least didn't see) an answer. Are there going to be Baseball Thrills cards this year? That's absolutely one of my favorite subsets in Topps' storied history. I sure hope they bring it back this year...

That does not make sense at all! The only thing I can think of is that your seller refunded the buyer his money and the buyer was just so happy to get his money back that he left positive feedback to show that aaaaeeeeee is someone who at least takes care of his customers with a refund although he did not deliver on product. If you look at all of svu18's feedback I believe the same thing happened.

If you look at his feedback comments he is known to deliver the Sp Authentic football to people that ordered well after some people that he gave refunds to so he obviously has no method as far as how he refunds or delivers product. Maybe he just picks and chooses randomly...

Same with me although I haven't actually filed a dispute yet. I ordered 1/22 so still have some time here.
That letter is a form letter because it's exactly what I received when I sent him an email yesterday. I'm looking to wait until my 45 days is nearly up then filing a dispute with Paypal.
I sent him an email last night and he responded this morning. I asked if he thought he would be able to ship the product and he said he would know more on Monday.
I didn't buy any cards for LR Cards this year, only because I found a cheaper source near where I live. (I'm already sweating it although we have swapped emails and he said no problem.)
However, for the last three years I have purchased cards from LR and for the last three years I highly recommend them on this message board. He won't screw anybody. He'll send you tracking numbers so you know exactly when the cards will arrive. And it was always quick.
Funny story. First year I ordered cards, I got the tracking numbers, and expected a 2 p.m. delivery. He called me on the phone 5 minutes before they were to arrive and said there was a mix up. He sent me basketball cards. I gave them back to UPS and the next day my cards arrived. Later, he also sent me the sell sheets with a nice letter thanking me for being so understand.
Opened 1 box at lunch so I figured I'd share what I saw. Going to finish up my half case tonight.
Didn't get a buyback, but got an advertising panel instead. 3 cards wide x 1 card high. Going to be a pain to ship.
Black backs = pulled 1 per pack. Always the last card in the pack.
Inserts = Always the 2nd to last card in the pack, in front of the black back.
SPs = After 1 box? You're kidding right? If Topps holds true to previous releases, then the SP will be located also in the 2nd to last card slot in the packs. I'll let you know after I finish sorting which cards I'm missing and which I only have 1 of.

Also hit a David Wright Chrome Refractor. If memory serves, it was /559.

Well, I'm still frustrated that after years on eBay with no problems, the time I dump $600 on a product I really wanted the deal goes to hell. The guy I bought from has completely disappeared and his feedback has taken a major league nose dive. I don't know why a guy with 1200 positives and 1 negative would make this the week he has 18 more negatives. It's a shame. I filed my complaint with paypal and sit here now hoping I recover most of the money.
On a bright note, I may be back in the game to some degree. I haven't bought a card in a year, but with my birthday next week and an eleven year old boy dying to open cards more than I am, I couldn't let this bad transaction take me totally out of the picture.
LRCards had single boxes for $62, no cases left (and I couldn't afford another one anyway with my $600 gone), but I emailed Larry and he gave me a price break, $55 per box for 5 boxes.
Not a case, but a real good start anyway. It leaves me and my son a little less disappointed, and gives me the chance to jump back in the hobby by buying and trading with you fine people again.

I hope that you and everyone who ordered from aaaeeee(?) and svu18 get their money back at least. It is a shame that we all can not share in the opening of boxes together.

I talked to my friend who's handling the case purchases - he's expecting his shipment tomorrow at 11 a.m. If it doesn't arrive tomorrow, then it'll be Wednesday for sure. Tomorrow is my Friday; I'll try to hold off on ripping until I get home (9 p.m. Pacific), but I might not be able to resist busting a little. I'll take some pix with my cell phone and post what I can as soon as I (hopefully) have product in hand.

I'm only doing quick math in my head, so maybe I'm completely off. The odds look real tough this year for good pulls. Chrome will be a tough, tough set.
Do we know how many 1/1 cut signatures there are? Could we then theoretically back into the number of packs produced? I guess we could get to the same answer using the chrome odds too - 100 in the chrome set, 1959 of each (right?), so 195,900 total chrome. 1 chrome in every 8 packs, does that mean 1,567,200 packs? That would imply 16 1/1 cut sigs... Can you tell I'm looking forward to this set?
I'd like to echo Geordie too in saying that I hope everyone gets their case, or at the very least a full refund - hopefully we'll all be ripping before long!
You have to take into account that the cut sigs are ONLY available in hobby packs. The retail packs may have different odds for the various pulls, and of course no odds for the cut sigs. So, 10 cut sigs ~= 982,000 packs are available in hobby. That would yield 122,750 chromes....which would be out of a total of 195,900 chromes out there, so there are 73,150 chromes leftover for the retail pack seeding. Once we see a published retail chrome pull rate, then we can safely calculate a reasonable estimate on the number of retail packs produced.
Consider there are 50 total dual flashback relic cards. if 982,000 hobby packs, and the seed rate is 1:55000 for these, then I would say 18 of the 50 are in hobby and 32 of them are in retail. Another data point to help arrive at total retail packs.
Don't forget to consider that retail vs. blasters have different seed rates, so until both players are heard from, no calcs can be too useful yet.

The dealer near my house will want anywhere between 75 to 95 bucks and I paid less than 60.
