  • Thank God that the Yankees didn't cave in to the Texas threat that they would trade Gagme to the Red Sox if the Yankees didn't trade the Melk Man for him.

The ump on first called Youk out on a foul ball 2nd/3rd strike when it CLEARLY was a foul ball!

Gagne is better than he's pitching. Pressure is getting to him. He had "ZERO" pressure in Texas.

I am at the point now where I think it would be best to just release him, enough of this crap.

Schilling shelled, but Big Papi finally gets the big hit, something he did often last year and rarely so far this year. Maybe his shoulder is improving.

I say put Gagne through an MRI, then a psychiatrist, then send him down to Pawtucket until he gets his act together. Costed us 3 games already, all days that the Yankees lost, we would have been 8 up on the Yanks right now instead of 5.

Clemens looked sharp tonight for the Yankees- watch out.

Watch out? How about being STRESSED OUT! This is going to be a division deciding series coming up I believe.

He looked sharp? He got rocked for 10 hits in 6 innings....hardly a sharp outing, just fortunate he didn't give up more than 2 runs.

Well, the good news is Gagne pitched a scoreless inning today.

Does anybody know if his Red Sox ERA is less than 15.00 yet? Anybody?

2 runs isnt getting rocked, and he walked no one. Solid performance and a quality start for the Yanks.

If you believe that 10 hits over 6 innings isn't getting shelled, well, sir, I suggest you go learn something about baseball. 10 baserunners in 6 innings is a miserable start.

WTF! I wake up this morning and realized I was NOT dreaming, we better pull our heads out of our A$$ for this series coming up or we are going to be the laughing stock of MLB

WELL the 11th biggest sports blunder in history was the Yanks blowing a 3-0 ALCS division series lead. I'll just hang my hat on that for another 6 years...kinda like the last Yanks world series win

Who would have thunk back in April that come around late Aug, Wakefield would be tied in the league for most wins. Go Wake!
  • If someone would have told me back in April that (on August 21st) the Sox would have a 5 game lead on the jankees; I'd take it in a freakin heartbeat. There wasn't any worry when we had that 14 1/2 game lead the end of May so there shouldn't be any worry now. The Red Sox still have the best record in the majors and they still have yet to play their best baseball of the year. As I see it, the pressure in not on the Red Sox - the pressure is on the Yankees.

The Sox and Yankees each have 37 games remaining (6 head to head). Let's say they split those 6 games - that means if the Sox go 18-13 in the other 31 the jankees would have to go 23-8 just to tie. And since the Sox have won 7 of the 12 matchups this year - they'd win the division based on head to head records. Therefore, the pressure remains on the jankees, not the Sox.
  • Interesting that the yankees have had to play .800 ball after the all star break and are *still* 5 games out.

Nothing would please me more than a postseason with Seattle, Anaheim, Boston and Cleveland, with the yank-mes sitting at home on their $200 million payroll.

Heard an interesting fact during last night's broadcast.

Everyone knows the Yankees have been the hottest team in baseball since the all star break.

But do you know which team has the second best record since the break? - Yup, the Boston Red Sox.

It definately has beenovershadowed by NY and their play. I meen yes we might be the second winningest team after the break ( although it definately does NOT seem that way ) The fact that our division lead has been chopped down to a series is not a good thing no matter how ya slice it...

the best way to get Gagme to pitch well is to put him on waivers.
