Mike, it is a 20 card set. Not sure about distribution but has about 12 or 13 Hall of Famers including Kareem, Wilt, the Big O, Maravich etc. Just started putting it together.
Looking for a Glen Rice Inkredible and Alex Rodriguez cards
Ah, sorry about that. My understanding was that the boxes were identical to the base sets, and that you had to open each one to find the gold sets. Similar to the gold 1992 and 1993 Upper Deck sets seeded in cases of regular sets, they had to be cracked open to find the gold. I don't recall hearing anything about the bar codes being different, they may have been. But I seriously doubt it, that was when everything was under the microscope. If the there was distinctive difference that set the sets apart I would have heard about it, I was into the hobby pretty deep at that time and knew a lot of what was going on. But you can't know everything, it would be interesting to see the boxes they came out of, I have never actually seen one.
My first submission (I think) to this post. Just got this in today. My first Big Blony checklist. Already cracked out so that it can join its two Bazooka brothers in the '57 box.
Perry The Etch-o-Scketch cards were from 1998 Topps. Not part of the base set but as a insert . I just bought the Alphabetical Checklist book so if anybody needs anymore info LMK. Mike I like those Fanfest cards but it seems the corners are always rounded? LMK if you have a Griffey and Ryan without round corners? I couldn't resist but I got about 100 diffrent Griffey cards in the last month so here are a few more that I just love! This will be my last post from the mailbox of old anything else will be new!

To what checklist book are you referring? Is there a checklist that keeps track of all these insert cards? Collecting used to be easy.
First - those are great Star Trek Auto cards. I didn't know they had those - and now I wish I still didn't know. I might have to find a couple of those.
I didn't know that OPC had the deckle edge cards either. How do they tell them apart from their regular roudh cut cards?
Sting I see you keep plugging away! Great additions - IMO, Topps always finds great shots of Montana!
Mucky Congratulations on the Taylor!
Sandman Can't wait to see what you and Knucks come up with!
rbd I'm actually a fan of the partidge family set and the brady bunch! Do you plan to rip that box? And nice hockey! How many sets are you working on?!!!!!!!!!
thanx for sharing guys this is always the highlite of my day! especially for a recovery addict! mike
These two were in the mail today. My '61 set is raw, but the All Stars are tough to find in decent condition. The PSA 6 will fit in well with my set.

That Susuni album is really great too! Nice find! >>
The OPC Deckles are bigger than Topps, and I think I read that the facimilie signatures: topps are blue ink and opc's are black ink. I think the "deckle cut" is also different between topps and opc's. but the major difference, IMO, there is only a fraction of the opc's (i.e., "print run"), compared to the topps deckle series, but I guess that goes for all the opc's vs. topps?
rbd
edit: yes, I can't wait to get the Susuni album! I'll post my thoughts about it, when received!
Sting There is a big gap because he was an All Star in the Topps but OPC extended their set and had their own seperate All Star cards of the players like Potvin,Drydan and Robinson.
Sting, Nice Montana Scott, Those are really cool! I know I said I wasnt going to buy anymore bgs cards but I made an exception for this one. c'mon its Emmitt
I posted this on another topic already, but I was pretty excited about getting this card. All of a sudden I am working on the T201 set. With only 50 cards, it shouldn't be too difficult or outrageous to work on a low grade set, especially since I just knocked off the big boy!
Mike, the set was issued by central Fl. BK's. I dont have the set but I am thinking of doing it.
The cards in the set are the Florida Gator Football Team, Jeff Roth, Albert the Alligator, Louis Oliver, Galen Hall (coach), Huey Richardson, Stacey Simmons, Chris Bromley, Willie McGrady, Rhondy Weston, Charlie Wright, Tracy Daniels.
The helmet came with a certificate of authenticity and was purchased locally from a very reputable dealer.

We're talking about the box it came in also - do you have the entire set.
My recollection is that you can't tell the gold from the regular sets by the box although there was a rumor about the bar code on it?
mike
Those are superb looking cards!
I don't know the set - how many cards?
Is it regional?
What stars?
thanx
mike
<< <i>2000 lol i just had to have this post! >>

That Kaline is a real beauty-- but that card's always bugged me, since I can't tell what base he's running to. >>
Ballparks used to have dirt cutouts from the dugout to home plate. Here is an artist's rendition of the Polo Grounds that shows the dirt cutouts.

Question on that Potvin, why the big gap between his name and his picture? Is that how OPC 78s were made?
Like this Topps Clarke:
