Very nice T3 Collins (highly underrated player), '1915 Cracker Jack A's, Big Papi sig. (the nickname my grandkids gave me), that T206 Cobb '4' is a looker and those Willis's up above are great finds too.
M114 Black Sox. What a team... What a shame. Some sly smirks here but Swede Risberg and Chic Gandil sure look like something's eating at 'em
I just got this from another board member, and I love it!
Collector of 1976 Topps baseball for some stupid reason. Collector of Pittsburgh Pirates cards for a slightly less stupid reason. My Pirates Collection
Recent Pickup from the recently broken up Complete 1914 Cracker Jack set from REA ....i love the crispness and clarity of the image and sharp corners which make up for the slight OC....
No Mike. Sadly, my 'Everything' won't let me display baseball stuff in our Nuevo Deco house. She thinks baseball stuff is too "dorkee". It goes into a dark locker at work along with the others... She is, however, a crazed Sox fan and I think she'd allow a plaster cast of Varitek's butt on the coffee table!
Goye, that Gretzky figure is pretty cool... what can you tell us about it? When was it issued, was it only available up north, and how rare are they to find in the original box?
Schr1st, some nice sigs there, especially that Jimmy Brown!
how rare are the boston backs as compared to Famous & Barr? >>
They are probably fairly close in numbers...I would think with a few less Boston Store cards, but thats just my opinion. Hard to put the 2 up side by side though with the F&B being an M101-4 and the Boston Store being an H801-8. I like them both
Got this in today,I am checking to see if this may have come from TTM pioneer Gil Jonas who lived in Brooklyn. He would write to mainly college football players and ask for their autograph as well as asking them to be part of his National Sports fans club. Don't know what that was but the players would write back that they would like to be in the club. Almost everything from the collection is in fountain pen and is dated no later than 1948 when he went off to college.
