'57 guys, just letting you know that I have a couple well known ebay dealers consigning lots of Mint 9's and high-end or low pop 8's on ebay right now. Check 'em out if you're interested. I also have more that will be going up as soon as these end.
Thanks,
Matt

all us 57 collectors need to unite and keep close contact so as not to bid against eachother on ebay. Why dont we use AOL and AOL instant Messenger. Go to google, type in AOL IM....go to the website..setup a name and pass..
That's what a few of us '72ers and '84 Donruss guys try to do. We even take turns on those cards that are needed by two or more of us so that we don't drive the prices up on each other. I'm all for it here on the '57s as well. My AOL IM screen name is SCMAuctions.

I just wanted to post a few of many cards I picked up recently. I am very happy with the centering on these few. I dont think I will be buying any cards anytime soon due to how much I spent on a lot recently. Oh by the way this was an old school deal. I received an email from another collector friend that knew of someone dumping some 57's and the rest was history. Glad I didnt have to bid against anyone to get these.
The Drysdale is my favorite card of the four!!! Bottom right corner is touched or it would be cracked out.
That is an extraordinary group of cards - exactly the kind I look for (and want). I just got to get myself back in the buying and selling mood so I can do stuff like this as well.
Not to spam this board, but I bought the attached cards from another board member at a fair price, and thought that they might be more useful to you than to me.
If any of you need some/all of them I'd pass them back at the same price. They are all likely 7's I would think (a couple with an outside shot at 8's), with Garcia being closer to a 6 than a 7. The corners compare favorably with the Berra and Drysdale above. PM me if they will help your set.
DRS I cant help with any of the cards you need, but you sure have a nice set. I couldnt even imagine having that high grade of a set with only a few left to fill. I guess those left are fairly costly but not that hard to come by. Good luck Dave
I'm back in the game after taking a break. In the past week I picked up a nice Campanella and Roberts in PSA 7, as well as a number of PSA 7 and 8 commons. I have decided to stop buying PSA 6 and only buy 7 and 8. Not sure what to do about the 150 PSA 6 cards I already have.
I have my 61 All-Stars set up individually for auction right now on eBay and the proceeds from those sales will go a long ways towards completing the 1957 set (apart from the 1963 cards I committed to buy from Soren).
For what it's worth, starting next week I'll be in the market to buy a nicely centered PSA 7 Koufax, BRobinson and FRobinson. So if anyone reading has one for sale at a good price, please let me know.
Any interest in going in together on this lot???? I only need a few with two of the biggest(mantle and power hitters). I would be open to spliting the rest up and only taking one of the big boys. LMK

I would be interesting if he can provide a clear scan of each of the cards and not a bad camera shot.
Here are the cards I would buy 34, 36, 62 (Martin), 97 (Yanks), 108, 132, 164, 185, 240, 272, 286 (Richardson), 306, 312 (Kubek) and 398. I would pay $850 for this group, if the scans show good centering for the stars.
<< <i>That Roberts is dead-on centered...nice cards. >>
Thanks. I'm a sucker for centered cards, or at least reasonably centered (like the Campy). With my success in submitting 57s to PSA and getting expected or better grades, I wonder about cracking and re-submitting the nicely centered cards (like the Berra I showed way back in this thread, as well as the Roberts).
Steve That Roberts looks better than it did when it was listed. I am also finding myself staying clear of anything better than well centered copies of all the stars I am buying of late. I can live with a few o/c commons but the stars must be centered from here on out. I do have some wonderful o/c commons in 7 holders that look great while being held in person but scan something less.
Onto the lot of 57's
I emailed the seller and asked for a complete scaned look at the set and hope to foward that on to the interested ones. I also wanted to let you know that it will be bid on and not at the BIN price. The reserve was not reached at $2180 when last listed. If we could find an up front buyer for the Mantle I can eat the extra cards that the three of us dont need or want. I do need the mantle but from the hard to tell pic would choose the power hitters as my top card and leave the mantle for someone else.
My list as follows: I need 34,95,97,132,200,240,264,306,391,407
I would take 2,95,200,215,240,272,306,391,407
that leaves jojo short the 200 and steve short the 240,306 and me with 2,82,215 left over..
You know, I have seen a lot of eBay auctions on 57s where pauljas has bid. I then take a look at his auctions and wonder if anyone else is getting tired of reading how rare and ultra-tough his run-of-the-mill, marginal PSA 7s are?
Excellent post, Steve. Pauljas is so over the top it is ridiculous. He had one auction where he had a PSA 8 '57 that I needed, and started the auction at $49.99. I needed the card, so I put a watch on it, but before I could bit, the jerk went in and changed the listing to an entirely different card. His shipping costs are also ridiculous -$7.00.
I have outbid him on a couple of items and have taken great pleasure in it. He's an idiot as far as I'm concerned.

Not too bad tonight. I put in 28 snipes on what siriussports had up (they must be breaking up a set) and won 16 of them. I had wanted to win at least half and I did. I don't think, however, I would have been as successful if these had ended Sunday night instead.
softy, to answer your question here, last year many of the non-SP PSA7 commons would go for between $11-14. This year I am seeing that a little higher, generally between $13-16. SPs can be had for $18-25.
I somehow ended up with a PSA 7 and PSA 8 #69 Roy McMillan. I would trade either for an equal card(s) if anyone needs or wants this card. Last I checked the 8 goes for about $220-$245 and the 7 for $100-$120.
Darn, I really wanted this 57 FRobinson card but my 290 snipe was too low. I think, however, that if I would've gone high, it would have been the case of two bidders going after a card for funny money.
If anyone has one that looks like this, please let me know and I'll buy it. I'm also looking a Brook Robinson in PSA 7 with good centering. Thanks.
I collect Topps HOFers from 1955-1975. Here are a couple of '57s I picked up raw from my favorite shop, very pleased with their grades. The Ford in 8 is way under-valued in SMR ($325, I've tracked three eBay auctions and none closed for less than $100 more than SMR; the average winning bid was $495.99!)
