from top of the org all the way down to the play on the field, my team is in a complete state of dysfunction. we haven't won a game in over 2 months. if you can't handle us at home, it's going to raise questions.
After today we can finally put to bed that Russell Wilson and the Steelers are elite and the talking heads saying no one wants to face them in the playoffs.
Tomlin is the master of squeezing the max out of his teams, but this is about as good as it gets for the Steelers. they aren't formidable enough to run with the big dogs come playoffs time.
their D couldn't make a play to save their lives today. Philly had a 2:1 time of possession advantage and punted once the entire game.
the Eagles had the ball at their own 3 with 10:29 left in the 4th. Pittsburgh never touched the ball again. 21 plays later, the game was over. if the clock hadn't run out that would be a 381-play drive right now and they'd be somewhere in New Jersey
Just an aside. Sean Payton is no idiot. He knew Wilson wasn’t going to carry a team anywhere including a SB. He couldn’t get the playbook. I wonder if Tomlin has simplified the offense and hoped his defense would carry them? Just asking
W.C.Fields "I spent 50% of my money on alcohol, women, and gambling. The other half I wasted.

whenever i post on here i put my fandom aside and put on an objective hat. the Bears are in total disarray. from top to bottom, it's a losing culture right now. there are grumblings with the pres, the GM, and we have an interim HC who showed last week that he's in over his head. we've pissed away more games in the past two months than i care to count. with that said, it is a heated divisional game and you know how those go. but right now those players don't have the proper backing that they deserve to max out their potential, and it shows on the field. a lack of execution as the worst possible times.
only way Minny loses this game is if they aren't ready to play and think that they will win simply by showing up because they're facing a sad sack opponent. if that is the mindset and it leads to killer penalties, turnovers and a surprising lack of execution, then the Bears have a chance. but if a tie for 1st and the impending playoffs motivate them to lay waste to an inferior opponent, you shouldn't have any problems.
basically the Vikings determine whether or not the Bears have an opportunity to win this game tonight, imo, because i don't expect us to all of a sudden show up and show out..........i've been waiting for that all season and it has yet to happen

I completely agree with everything you said, but I've seen it many times, a team thinks a game is "loserproof" and let's down just a bit, and BOOM, their opponent takes advantage and upsets the favored team.
Chicago is NOT a bad team. Their QB makes me nervous with his running ability, if he gets confidence with his passing (from what I have seen he can be erratic) it could spell doom for the Purple Gang.
The Vikings should be totally prepared and focused on this game or they will lose!

The Lions, who were already missing basically their entire 1st and 2nd string defenses going into the Buffalo game, lost FOUR more players for the season during the game. Three on defense and stud running back David Montgomery on offense.
The Lions have had an incredible season, and can still score a billion points, but it's going to be tough to keep winning with a bunch of community college guys on defense.

Looks like the Lions might just be too banged up to win it all. If their running game is gone, that could make them one dimensional on offense.

Pretty decent game. I did not like the decision of going for it on fourth down at the Chicago 23 instead of kicking the FG. I also don't mind the white out jerseys; I just really like & prefer the purple. Also would have been interesting with a purple horn

Seen through that lens I don't really think Bills fans should be too overjoyed by that win over the Lions. Buffalo is good and can score points, but their defense allowed 496 passing yards!!

This is the time of the NFL season where fans start to pay attention to one of two things, the Playoff Picture and the Draft Order. Being a Browns fan I looked at the latter this morning.
There are currently two teams with 2-12 records and four teams with 3-11 records. Cleveland has the "best" record among the 3-11 teams --- but --- has somehow managed to lose to both 2-12 teams!! Even when they lose they can't manage to do it right.

You think The Browns will look to replace Watson if they can draft a QB?
What's his cap hit, they owe him an obscene amount of money
@perkdog said: You think The Browns will look to replace Watson if they can draft a QB??
I tend to think that the best predictor of the future is the past. Along that line of thought, the Browns, probably better than any other current franchise in the NFL, have proven that they cannot evaluate QB talent and make a wise choice. At least during the past 25 years. And then when they did with Baker Mayfield an injury made them panic and they traded him.
This may sound crazy, but back around 2015 I advocated for the Browns to somehow sign Jay Cutler from the Bears. At the time he fit the bill as a "game manager" and would have allowed the Browns to stockpile Draft Picks and simultaneously build the team around him. That would allow them to wait for the best available QB, either through the Draft or a trade. Then along came Baker in 2018.
I think that sort of approach would work again. The team clearly can't afford a top QB because they saddled themselves with the Watson debt. I think the rebuild, a dirty word in the NFL, should already be in the works.

The Browns have had as much luck with QB's as the Pats have had at WR lucky for us Bob Kraft is too cheap to over pay for one
IMO:
Bills & Ravens are favorites to make SB in AFC.
Vikings & Eagles are favorites to make the SB in NFC.
Lions are too beat up and make too many bad "analytics-based" decisions on 4th down to trust them (along with all the injuries).
Chiefs just don't seem to have the firepower to win a high scoring game, especially with Mahomes injured. I think at least one of their games in the playoffs will require they score 28 or more points in order to win. I don't really think their offense is going to be able to do it. Best case scenario, they manage to get the bye in the first round and play the Steelers in their first playoff game. Definitely hope I am wrong about the Chiefs offense as I am a huge Mahomes fan.
