Looks like the Cleveland Browns have backed into the 2nd pick in the 2025 Draft along with firing OC Ken Dorsey and OL Coach Dickerson. That's called addition by subtraction, they are already better next season and this season ain't over yet.
Tampa Bays' McMillan scores TD and makes a "rifle" like gesture after TD. No index finger use as if firing the "rifle". 15 yard penalty. Time to get rid of the "shotgun" offensive play. And the "shotgun" word reference.

I would do the same but knowing the Kraft's they'll likely see this win as a reason to hold onto him. They're likely going to find one or more other scapegoats to fire like Alex van Pelt (OC) & Demarcus Covington (DC) both. They're also too cheap to replace two entire coaching staffs in back to back seasons especially after Belichick alone cost them about 20-25M..
Everyone knew going into this season that the team was going nowhere and was extremely lacking in talent but there wasn't a single aspect from Jerod Mayo's coaching results that gives Pats fans any hope for his future here. He could eventually become a really good head coach but hopefully its elsewhere.
Well, I just checked the NFL scores for today's games and see that Denver is leading KC 31-0 at the end of the third quarter. Unless the Chiefs decide to mount a furious comeback it appears that my favorite team will win today and secure the 37 spot in the AFC playoffs (likely playing Buffalo in Buffalo).

Sounds more like firing the workers instead of the management. You can't win without a QB! What offensive lineman is going to constantly protect a 250Million $ piece of crap? You eventually stop with the extra effort that winning provides and just do your job at the lowest level to keep getting your paycheck! Have you even seen any kind of team chemistry on offense when Watson was in there? Nothing! No smiles, no high fives, no Watson congrating his players on a good play? NOTHING, and then the Browns state he is STILL gonna be the QB next season? How depressing - That is management/owner problems to fix - but they don't

The only good thing about the Chiefs getting destroyed by Denver is knowing Mouthman* Chase has to be pissed at them. Surprised I haven’t heard about any comments from him yet about the Chiefs losing.

Most assuredly.

KC only second team this year to be shutout NO 31-0 loss to GB.
Denver TOP was 42 minutes to 18 for KC. Poor KC defense must of been gassed by end of 3rd quarter.

I always wondered when the announcers would say that - Now last time I checked - the Offense is out there the same time the Defense is. Why is the Defense worn out but not the Offense too? The Quarterback usually runs around more than the DB's.

Excuse me? My dad was killed by an imaginary rifle. I'm super offended! Consider this post flagged.
I'm sure Bengals fans will talk about the Chiefs "tanking" and how it was unfair and kept them out of the playoffs. They would do better to look in the mirror and try to figure why they played so bad early in the season. Every game counts, you can't start out 1-4 and blame somebody else.
I'm absolutely stunned at this performance from Detroit. Thoroughly outcoached Minnesota and just beat the snot out of Darnold. And Detroit struggled offensively - still scored 31.
As Mark Twain said, "The reports of my death are greatly exaggerated" and that might apply to the Detroit Lions. There was plenty to play for last night in the form of a first round bye and the Vikings came out flat, slid from possible 1-seed to a 5-seed. That sets up a possible re-match of these two teams in two weeks. Same thing in the AFC as we get to see the "rubber match" between the Steelers/Ravens, 3rd time to play each other in 8 weeks.
Terrible game last night. I did not like some of our offensive play calling; also did not like some of the non calls from the refs. Oh well, I think I heard at one time (perhaps on the boards here?) that in the NFL it is very difficult to beat a team 3 times in the same year. Not sure if there are stats to back that up?
Why does everyone support these teams who have had multiple chances at winning Super Bowls and have failed?? I would think that fans would be more supportive of the Lions with their rich, rich history and long championship drought. @stevek hit the nail squarely on the head, Detroit Lions fans have paid their dues waiting for a shot.

Well Detroit would have had a better chance if that Rah Rah guy Dan Campbell kicked FG:s when he was supposed to last year against SF
You have more empathy for Detroit than Buffalo?
I'd rather be a Detroit fan and not make the Super Bowl rather than lose 4 straight

Darnold looked too "pumped up" in his first big game, overthrowing everyone in the first half.
O'Connell was HORRIBLE, costing us 9 points trying to imitate Detroits coach.
Hat's off to the Lions defense! Absolutely did not expect them to play anywhere near that well. They covered the Vikings receivers extremely well and rushed Darnold ferociously.
Vikings now need to turn it around and go on the road and beat another team they lost to earlier this year.

I have not liked a lot of O'connell's decisions in the past and last night he was horrible.
Should have kicked 2 Field Goals and his Kicker was kicking the ball towards the sidelines, finally kicking one out of bounds resulting in a gift FG for the Lions right before halftime.
There were a couple of bad calls. It looked obvious that the end zone play should have been a safety.
Bottom line, Lions defense beat up on Vikings offense all night. Darnold played poorly, but the Vikings receivers were rarely open.

You're right. I just came to like last season the massive enthusiasm that Lions fans displayed for their team. Reminded me of Eagles fans. Plus the city of Detroit has had a long suffering history of decline with the auto industry, etc. A Super Bowl win would certainly pick up their spirits.
So I'd like to see Detroit win it some day. However if they meet the Eagles in the playoffs, I will root against them in that game like a plague. LOL

Nothing has changed, so not sure why anything would be over. Given the epidemic of gun fatalities in the US, the NFL isn't going to be changing any of their rules regarding those sort of gestures.
That said, it makes no sense that these players continue to make these sort of boneheaded plays after doing something spectacular. McMillan could have cost the Bucs a chance at the playoffs (he did make up for his mistake with that very nice toe-tap TD a few plays later). I never played in front of the sort of crowds these guys do, but my coaches always let us know what sort of celebrations would cause issues and stressed not to be selfish and cost the team. In the current NFL era, there are so many celebrations that are permitted it is crazy these guys can't do one that doesn't get a penalty.

We were a pretty legit rough group of guys so the danger level was quite low lol
Vikings laid another prime time egg last night - that's six losses in a row on the road in prime time.
Lions deserved to win.
The silver lining for the Vikings is Darnold's abhorent performance should squash any talk of him sticking around next year.
It was always a transition year for me and this will be McCarthy's team week #1 in 2025.
The Vikings desperately need to get stronger/bigger on the OL and DL - it's been like this for years on end. They have tons of cap space and only 3, possibly 4 picks in the 2025 NFL Draft. Go get some bigger interior OL and a stout DT to compete with the likes up front of Philly and Detroit.
I think it is the Eagles conference to win. AFC is a crap shoot - cheering for Bills.
Tyreek Hill said in a postgame interview that he wants out of Miami. Not sure if he was being serious or just venting some frustration on how their season went but it will be interesting to see how that plays out. He just signed a 3yr deal back in August and he's due to make 28M/51M over the next two seasons.

Just looked up his 2024 stats and what he's done since leaving KCC as I don't follow the Dolphins.
I can see why he's frustrated. However, what team is going to want to pick up a lot of that kind of money for someone that will turn 31 in less than 90 days?
FWIW, Tua completed a NFL leading 72.9% of his passes across the 11 starts he made in 2024 with 19 TDs to 7 INTs and his QB Rating was 101.4
I would think he's going to figure out how to stay in Miami...
