I don't know why you guys are all over that Chicago defender, he got to the play in plenty of time.

He ran over while Daniels was running around in the backfield under cover of his lineman either holding or blocking in the back

It's on the Special Teams coach for not ordering 3 of his guys to plant their flag and stay IN the end zone.

In high school, as backfield defenders, we were taught on all long pass plays, to focus strictly on knocking the ball to the ground. Don't try for the interception or anything else.

If that Chicago player would have been focused on the play as he should have been, rather than foolishly taunting fans or whatever the yell he was doing, there is no doubt that his path to follow the trajectory of the football would have been different.

Perhaps the play result would have been the same. But then again perhaps he would have been in a slightly better position on the filed to knock the ball down, rather than have the ball tipped?

That ball wasn't getting batted down from how I saw it, it was higher than the mess of the players jumping for it like it was a rebound.

They literally swatted it with the very tip of their fingers, hence why it didn't get knocked down

Also have to be careful not to get a pass interference call in that situation.

They were not calling anything, there was holding and blocks in the back at the line and in that pile of bodies a PI is impossible to call

Unless it was a 1 on 1 situation of course

Agreed about staying focused, no argument from me on that

I know it was tough on galaxy because the bears are his team but damn that was a beautiful Hail Mary! 🥳
I liked seeing the fans reactions right when they actually realized it worked.

I think you're right. I don't recall a penalty ever being called on a Hail Mary.

But in today's happy to throw a flag refs in the NFL, ya never know, ya still gotta be careful.

  • perkdogperkdog Posts: 30,848 ✭✭✭✭✭

Speaking of refs, I give the ref all the credit in the world that was right in front of the catch at the back of the end zone, he signaled TD in such an expressionless robotic fashion lol I probably would have been screaming if I was him lol

What doubled down on the excitement is the fact that Washington is playing some good football this season, and is in first place in the NFC East. This particular win could possibly at the end of the season mean Washington gets into the playoffs.

Also didn't hurt I'm sure that a good number of those cheering fans had some coin bet on Washington. 🤑

  • galaxy27galaxy27 Posts: 8,048 ✭✭✭✭✭

the guy dicking off with fans before the play and well after the ball had been snapped was bad enough, but this is why it's even worse:

    Noah Brown was his guy

when he finally turned around with Washington receivers already 20 yards down the field, he was out of position and he couldn't have cared less where Noah Brown was. he made a beeline to the football and was the actual player who tipped it first.......directly to the guy he was responsible for

it's fine and dandy that he showed responsibility and accountability afterward, but if i was the coach he'd he gone today

you'll never be able to outrun a bad diet

I’ll just add my 2 cents and move on. Some of these players didn’t graduate at the top of their class in college and you see it every game with some of the bone head plays that leave you shaking your head.
Derick Halls roughing the passer just wasn’t very bright and resulted in a Bills touchdown to end the half. Many more examples but damn.

Ok sports fans I have a real head scratcher for Thursday night. I know Collins and Diggs are a probable scratch but
    Jets -1 ??
I was sure the line would open around Texans -5.5

So to all the experts , explain please.

I don't think a lot of coaches graduated anywhere near the top of their class either

Why coaches leave points on the field over and over and over again by moronically going for it on 4th down astonishes me

If Buffalo wins Sunday (vs Miami) area printers will be printing home playoff tickets before Thanksgiving. Let that sink in.

As they should, it's Buffalos division to lose and I sincerely don't think they will

Vikings trade for left tackle Cam Robinson.

Nice to see them going out and getting a proven starter!

Anthony Richardson is horrible, worse than Bryce Young I'm thinking

Will Levis is in the conversation as well

  • galaxy27galaxy27 Posts: 8,048 ✭✭✭✭✭

did you guys see Anthony Richardson tap out for a play when Indy was driving for a score, then admit after the game that he was tired?

I had never seen that before. Wide receiver I get it, defensive lineman I get it, but a QB getting too tired and checking out at a critical stage of the game?

When i heard him talking about it i thought W -- and I can't stress this enough -- TF

Richardson had no business going 4th. That was the poster child of were taking a QB no matter what and using combine numbers to justify the pick. He wasnt good at FL

Only thing worse than his play is him quitting. Qbs cant tap out for being tired, they arent WRs or DBs.

The Detroit Lions had 9 yards passing in the first half against Tennessee.

    They led 35-14.

Their streak continued and they've now had more offensive TDs (24) than incompletions (18) over the last 5 games.

Over his last 5 games, Jared Goff has a 143 rating and 83% completion percentage, both NFL records for a 5-game stretch.

    9 yards? 35-14? That’s insane

every single Jets game is like the Yankees 5th inning

    Jets tied it

Thursday nights get weird and it's Halloween night.

I say the Jets pull it off

They finished the game with 61. Scored 52 points.

They started 5 drives inside the Tennessee 25, had a 90yd punt return TD, and a 70yd rushing TD. That's how you get 61 yards passing in a game where you killed the other team.

I imagine thousands of bettors got it crammed in their rear end over that game last night

Houston without their top 2 wide outs got exposed big time, they are in trouble

  • galaxy27galaxy27 Posts: 8,048 ✭✭✭✭✭

i sprinkled on the Jets but was too busy eating candy passing out candy to post it

it was an interesting line to begin with, and it never budged in Houston's favor

    so i tailed

strip a QB of his top two wideouts and all of a sudden he no longer looks like the same QB

you'll never be able to outrun a bad diet

“Definitely frustrated, to be honest,” Ulbrich said about his initial reaction. “And angry at the same time. But, what an amazing opportunity for this kid to grow and learn from. I promise you 10 years from now when he’s still playing in this league that will never happen again."

This Youtube video might be a bit clearer and easier to see, plus a number of comments about it. I had never heard of it either. Of course this was the early days of the AFL, so perhaps the media didn't care to report on it that much, if at all?

On Halloween night, I was giving just one piece of candy to each kid.

This one kid came to my stoop and was dressed as Dak Prescott. I said how cute, instead of one piece of candy he can pick six.

Second game in a row for Vikings to have hands to the QB face on a defensive score. But gee, at least for this one they threw a flag and then picked it up. I'm telling ya, I'm really sick and tired of this. Even the announcers can't believe it. And the defensive guy will probably get a fine this week for it but that doesn't do ZIP for us during the game.

one of these centuries the NFL will wise up and review a play like that, instead of gratuitously handing out touchdowns
