Basebal21 it is all in good fun with CoolStanley. He can tell you when the 3rd string, walk-on long snapper is missing a bowl game for OSU and then use that as an excuse why they got destroyed...but if an SEC team has their star QB, WR, & DE skip a bowl game to get ready for the NFL draft, he will point to that SEC team losing a bowl game as a reason why the SEC is overrated.

It is honestly amazing to scroll through his posts over the years and see how he will say anything (even if it contradicts earlier posts that year or in previous years) to justify why OSU deserves to be permanently ranked #1 and the SEC sucks.

    Robb

Lol it is all good fun. Its fascinating to me the logic pretzels that get created. Iowa beating Kentucky in a bowl game matters when Kentucky was using an emergency QB, and had their star RB and tackle opt out, but Missouri beating OSU doesnt matter because a single star player opted out while Missouri was missing more than one star defensive players.

I get it to some extent. I have some friends that arent able to talk about their team objectively or know much about any other team , thats part of sports. Ive never seen it taken to a conference level though. My Ohio State friend was rooting for Bama and Washington so hard in the playoffs not wanting Michigan to get bragging rights.

Its one thing to root for another team late in the season like is Ole Miss needs Bama to lose to Auburn to get into the championship or something like that, other than that and especially once the playoffs and bowls start you dont want to see your conference winnings games other than your team.

Its going to be a very funny season with a center that struggles to snap out of shotgun and Will Howard at QB.

I didn't know Notre Dame and Miami are in the BIG TEN.

    What??

Coolstanley, you post every time an SEC team loses an out of conference game that a) the SEC team losing was a power and b) who beat them. When I did the same for the B10, your response was "All those scores are power 4 teams. Toledo is a MAC school. Apples and oranges.". Which I guess was a reference to your last SEC power team losing post (MIss St to Toledo).

So I quoted the rest of your SEC "powers" losing posts to show that my post was actually apples to apples based on your prior posts. I assume you are not this obtuse IRL but who knows.

    Robb

You have been bashing the BIG TEN for years. Before last year, you would always point out that the BIG TEN teams weren't worthy of making the playoffs because they always lose. Then, ever since Michigan won it all last year, you've been silent ever since. Until this week :D

Haven't really watched an Ohio State so far but I'll have to tune in and scope out the punter......
"Nick McLarty will be the starting punter for the Ohio State Buckeyes in 2024. McLarty is a 6'7", 255 lb player who went viral on social media for his punting skills, including a 90-yard punt. "

Funny how USC looks when the officals arent taking over the game for them. Pathetic to give up 21 on defense to a team not even trying to pass

Didnt see Navy beating Memphis, lots of pushups for the midshipmen with that score. That could potentially impact which G5 team makes the playoffs

At least we can stop pretending Northern Illinois should be ranked.

Was a close game on the road. Michigan State outgained BC 368-292. Missouri only beat BC by 6 points in Missouri.

Current polls lol. What a joke.

LSU ranked 2-3 spots ahead of USC. Kansas State snd TAMU ranked ahead of Indiana and Rutgers. Apparently losses and head-to-head don’t matter.

Indiana flat out destroys UCLA on the road. LSU struggles until the 4th quarter against UCLA. LSU has lost their only game against a ranked team and they moved up to 13th and Indiana is still not ranked despite being undefeated.

Yeah, there are no biases in voting :/

Last time I checked football games are 4 quarters. LSU easily won. USC lost to a team that attempted 12 passes for 32 yards and still gave up almost 30 points. Everyone in football knows Michigan cant pass and they still let them drive the field in no time to lose.

Missouri beat BC, Michigan State did not.

Indianas only win is UCLA, UCLA is 1-2 with their only win being against Hawaii

I guess now theres a Big 12 bias too since Kansas State is now being brought up

Youre right though there is a B!G bias in voting since LSU is 14 and USC is 13

Well, Michigan having 290 yds rushing might have something to do with it.
I watched the game. LSU did NOT win easily. Just more nonsense from you.
Of course you dont care Indiana isnt ranked. You're going to stick up for the sec teams every time.

LSU did win easily. A football game is 4 quarters not 3.

Michigan having almost 300 yards rushing without being able to pass at all is just a peak Lincoln Riley cant tackle defense. Everyone in football other than USC knew that Michigan was going to do nothing but run with Orji at QB

LSU out scored UCLA 17-0 in the second half for an easy win. You can try and spin it all you want like a full game doesnt need to be played. The fact is LSU won by 3 scores and pitched a second half shutout. Thats an easy win.

By your logic Ohio State must have struggled because they were tied with Marshall at the end of the first quarter. Not everyone schedules Akron, Western Michigan, and Marshall as their first three games

Comparing the 1st quarter to the 4th quarter. Hilarious. LSU played a lot better in the 2nd half. But they were struggling for 2 1/2 quarters against an offense that had not scored more than 16 points in either of its previous two games.

An easy win though he says lol.

Michigan had an easy non-conference schedule last year, and you know the rest of the story.

Im not comparing the first quarter to the 4th quarter. LSU dominated the 2nd half. LSU trailed one in the game and never again and it was the end of the 1st quarter.

Either OSUs first quarter against Marshall matters or LSUs first quarter doesnt. No matter how much you hate the SEC a 17-0 second half winning by three possessions is an easy win.

It may go through but theyre in a legal battle now with the Mountain West. The Mountain West teams have something like a 17 million buyout to leave but the PAC 2 agreed to a 10 million per team poaching fee when the MW agreed to schedule with them. The 10 mil goes up 1 mil for every additional team so the PAC 2 owes close to 60 million to the MW that they are refusing to pay and it all could fall apart.

Even if it goes through they still need 1 more team to be considered a conference before their grace period ends.

    Two interesting developments today.

The first is UNLV. They were in the mix to be the G5 playoff team and now their QB and one of their RBs are sitting out the rest of the season to take a redshirt year and transfer. The QB was not paid what was promised and youd think school would have learned their lesson after what FL did to Nico but apparently not.

The other is one of USCs best interior DL has seen enough and is planning to sit out the rest of the year. Made no sense he was only on the field for 1/3rd of the snaps against Michigan. Apparently the USC coaching staff is the only one that was worried about Michigan passing. Hes over it though and short of a boat load of money hes redshirting and hasnt shown up for practice

Crazy ending to the VT/Miami game. The announcers agreed the hail mary should've been a touchdown.

Virginia Tech got screwed. The announcers agreed. The ACC refs protecting their highest ranked team. Miami shouldn't be in top 10 after this.

He was successful in his one season at Tennessee. When he got to USC that was when they were under sanctions from the Carol years. Even missing the 30 scholarships he was still successful at USC. They fired him to quickly and then later held on to bad coaches for to long.

Hes recruiting way above the level he should be able to at Ole Miss. They got very lucky he didnt leave and take the Auburn job because his daughter goes to Ole Miss and told him not to and that she was sick of not having her father around because he was leaving for a different job again
