Well the Grinch stole my Pats Xmas loss. 😔
Now NE is sitting in the 4th-5th range in the draft.

I haven't watched, been on the road driving home and I'm sort of drained after watching Cleveland and Miami win. It's looking like a few playoff spots will get settled after next weeks games.

It's hard not to like December football in the NFL.

Nice to see that chump Sean Payton blow it by using his timeouts on the pats final drive.
Belichick was content to go into overtime until Payton used timeouts and the pats made a big play.
I was sad when SD fired Staley but it’s great that Denver has an idiot coach.

Two Raiders touchdowns in seven seconds!

The KC fans have got to be beside themselves. It’s 17 to 7.

Stupid thought and way too early to think it.
    Kansas City loses
Miami loses to the ravens in Baltimore ( a real possibility)
Buffalo wins out, wins division and jumps KC to #2 seed.

This looks like the Super Bowl game where Tampa beat Kansas City. Mahomes was running for his life in that one too. He made some remarkable throws, but it’s hard to throw when he is on his back.

KC has lost the magic, struggling along like the rest of the NFL right now, a common symptom of how it's been for several of the presumed top teams. The changing of the guard?? Who knows, it's hard to tell and too early.

If I heard the announcers correctly at the end of the game:
--- Raiders didn't complete a pass after the 1st quarter.

    That goes along with:
--- Raiders didn't score a TD on offense.
--- Mahomes fumble for a scoop and score.
    --- Mahomes pick six.

    What a peculiar game.

Losing a game to a team whose QB had 58 total yards (62 passing , -4 rushing) being 9 for 21 is just funny.

caught bits and pieces of the KC-Vegas game and every time i did, Mahomes looked completely disoriented. i think we're witnessing what can happen to a great quarterback when he's stripped of surrounding talent. on many of the plays i saw he had a "no one is open, wtf do i do" look. his improvisational style over the years has been a key component to him becoming the best QB in the league. but now he simply looks like a desperate man out there.

@galaxy27, your assessment isn't what I saw and doesn't fit in with what the post-game commentary was about.

Those analyzing the game afterwards have/had a view we couldn't see on-screen and are probably better suited to know just what's going on. They spoke about Mahomes having open receivers that he either didn't see or chose not to target --- and a game flow on offense that seemed disconnected, not typical of how KC has played in past seasons/the Mahomes era.

They did agree that Mahomes looked out of sync and that's what I saw, also.

I think the best observation might be that we're witnessing the absence Eric Bienemy and the subtle things he brought to the table, a scheme and play calling that's missing. I'm not saying that's right/wrong, but it bears considering since the Chiefs are in the "death spiral" at exactly the wrong point in the season. One positive observation: the Chiefs defense played a pretty good game, they only allowed 48 passing yards and 205 total, with about 65 of those 205 coming on that last drive by the Raiders.

@Maywood admittedly i didn't see the entire game. but with all due respect, that sounds like a load of crap. i find it very hard to believe that Patrick Mahomes has forgotten how to hit an open receiver with alarming regularity. the difference now is that when he scrambles and ad libs to buy extra time, there's not a cheetah creating separation for him to drill in the chest. instead, he has guys like Toney, Valdez-Scantling, Watson and Moore -- guys who are still learning how to catch a football for crying out loud and frankly should be thanking their lucky stars they are on an NFL roster to begin with. it's a crap receiving corps, and has been all season. one of the worst in the NFL.

and Bienemy is such a stud OC that he has parlayed his KC success into engineering a Commanders offense that is ranked in the bottom third in points scored. it's all fun and games until you start coaching Sam Howell instead of Patrick Mahomes.

i'm not saying Mahomes in infallible throughout this dismal run; clearly he is having issues this season creating chicken salad out of chicken sh*t the way Brady expertly did throughout his career. but eotd a superstar's success is by and large a product of the quality of his teammates. and especially ones at skill positions if you're a quarterback. make no mistake, if Tyreek Hill was still wearing red the Chiefs wouldn't be experiencing the issues they currently are.

Chiefs lead the league in dropped passes. Rice has potential but its not a good WR core. QBs need weapons to be successful. 49ers probably score 50 points a game if Mahomes was there.

Mahomes and the entire offense just isn’t playing well enough to make it to the SB this year.
I miss showtime’s posts but I don’t agree with one thing he told me. He said after Mahomes won his 2nd Super Bowl that from now on it would be SB victory or bust for me as a fan every year. But I completely enjoy when the Chiefs win the AFC west! And they’re still in the driver’s seat to accomplish that goal. I grew up with Elway and the Broncos dominating KC and the old Raiders teams trying to cheap shot their way to victory. Geez I still remember when the Seattle Seahawks were in the AFC west and Jim Zorn zipping the ball all over the field. The Chargers were never much of a problem because well, they’re the Chargers.
So payback is a bitch for those other AFC west teams and I hope KC’s divisional dominance continues for a long time regardless of not making the Super Bowl.

    Monday morning over reaction.
I’m going to be the voice of reason
Any given Sunday for the Chiefs and 49ers
A 9-7 team beat a 16-0 in the Super Bowl

As long as you have Mahomes, Allen or any top tier QB you are never out of it.

How many times will the Ravens tip and intercept 4 passes or a Raiders team score 2 defensive touchdowns.

It’s the NFL and it’s hard to win.

That said maybe the competition in the NFC isn’t as tough as I thought because Baltimore exposed SF and hit them right in the mouth and they looked it.
Everyone has a plan until you get punched in the face.

That looked like a really high energy game, like the teams and the fans were all close to an overdose on adrenaline!! At first it seemed it would be a hometown cake-walk but the Ravens are pretty good and in a strange way, under everyone's radar. What it came down to today is who protected the ball.

Seems like the 49ers may not be the eventual SB champion they were being touted as.

I think the Ravens have crept up on pro football this season. They have not gotten a lot of press, and yet now they have the best record. They beat San Francisco on their home field, which is not a small accomplishment.

Fans who haven't paid attention have missed some good football from the Ravens. Lamar Jackson is everything he's hyped to be but fans dismiss him for their own reasons. He was criticized because he ran too much. He was criticized as weak for not playing at the end of the season when injured. He was criticized as stupid for not having an agent and letting his Mother help him in negotiations. Add whatever else you might think of, but you get the idea.

In the meantime he continues to play at a level above most other NFL QB's. My personal opinion is that Jackson and the Ravens have been hampered as much as anything else by his Head Coach. His play during his career has been pretty consistent and top tier, yet he is criticized.

I’m sure I’m wrong but it looks like Dallas and San Francisco are very good finesse teams but physical overmatched at times. Baltimore overwhelmed the offense line and made Purdy good look Purdy bad. Just my take

Nope. Baltimore with Lamar have always been a good regular season team.
It’s when the chips are down against quality playoff teams that Lamar had to prove himself. Anyone can win when your defense shuts down the opposition. It’s when the other team keeps scoring and you have to. He still has to prove himself then.

I have never been impressed with Lamar Jackson because of the injury thing. He's been down for the past two postseasons. The few times I have seen him, he's made some bad judgements on passes, and yea, quarterbacks who run too much are asking for trouble. There is a reason why running backs have the shortest careers in pro football. They get beat up game after game.

I sorta follow Baltimore because they were almost as close to where I grew up as Philadelphia, and I have gone to many Baltimore coin shows. I followed the team in the days of Johnnie Unitus, Raymond Berry, lineman, Jim Parker. and announcer Chuck Thomson. The trouble is the Colts "carpetbagged it out town, as the late Howard Cosell used to say. I never warmed up the Ravens as much.
