Well, I'll go against the grain and say that I think Miami has a better than even chance to win and it won't surprise me if they do. If the Bills can't run the ball effectively they'll be in trouble.

The game, to me, hinges not on the players but the Head Coaches. A battle of "McD's" as McDaniel goes against McDermott.

At least the Bills will know what they have to do. All 3 games deciding playoff spots are Saturday or early Sunday. I know Lamar is sitting against Pittsburgh but last year week 18 Pittsburgh beat Baltimore to knock them out of the playoffs. I’m sure Baltimore hasn’t forgotten. Division rivals and this as an added incentive.
WKBW is reporting ticket sales for the Miami game are 52% Bills fans. It’ will be loud and Miami doesn’t do well on silent counts with all their motion.
Like I said all week, game of the year and would we have it any other way?

I believe if Buff wins they are in the 2nd playoff spot with a bye week. and they are hot, 4 wins in a row. and they blew the doors off Miami earlier in the season.

    Buff wins.

Buffalo will be in the AFC championship game

  • MaywoodMaywood Posts: 2,091 ✭✭✭✭✭

@perkdog, that's quite a prediction. What makes you think so??

  • 2dueces2dueces Posts: 6,440 ✭✭✭✭✭

If it all plays out Kansas City will come to Buffalo after 5 straight games in Kansas City.

I think the AFC field is wide open, Baltimore is the front runner ofcourse, I just think that Buffalo making it to the championship game would be so fitting for the NFL, they were counted out and blacklisted from being a contender ( myself included ) but they hung around and are now in a position to win the AFC East against the under manned Fins.

Taken with the comment about Buffalo being counted out I would consider that KC should get the same consideration. We all playoff football is a different animal and brings out something different in players and teams. Both Buffalo and Kansas City have been winning with defense in the second half of the season despite their reputations for offense. To that end, if it's really true that defense and a running game win championships I'd have to give the edge to the Chiefs. I see theire "D" as better and, absent Josh Allen, they also have the edge in running.

It presents an interesting game, but to be honest, I don't think it'll come to that.

And your correct about KC being counted out BUT the difference being is that Buffalo has remembered how to win over the last 5 weeks and KC has barely won a game.

I would never count KC out of anything. No matter how they look they still have Mahomes. If you notice in my post I didn’t say Buffalo beats KC, just they play in Buffalo.
@perkdog You of all people should remember the Patriots being bored in the regular season and being counted out. They just waited until it mattered and balled out in the playoffs. Never count out a team that has been there year after year

@2dueces said: Never count out a team that has been there year after year

Right now the only concern I have with KC is that their problems aren't physical, their problems are mental. They seem to have lost their confidence and composure in equal parts at exactly the wrong point in the season. I don't see that as a player problem, things like that start at the top and work down. Andy Reid seems like too good of a HC to let that stuff happen but it has happened, so I see the problem as being the coaching staff. At the same time Buffalo went through a transition and McDermott seems to have held the discipline of the team together better.

I think the Chiefs are the better all around team, better at all key positions that matter, but that never ensures anything because it isn't showing itself on the field.

the Dolphins are like the spray tan of the NFL............they look really, really good, then it wears off. i wouldn't trust their D as far as i could throw them, as that's before the injuries to Chubb and Howard.

that said, it would be so very Buffalo Bills-like for them to crap the bed tomorrow and miss out on a golden opportunity to be primed for the playoffs in the 2 spot.

no clue what's going to happen, therefore i'm not going to drop any 💰on this game. i just want to enjoy it and see what transpires

    What a great throw by Stroud - 1 possession, 1 pass, 1 TD - 7-3 Texans!

Interesting weekend NFL action, it seems every game ensures someone is in, out or still has a chance. Pittsburgh wins and still has a shot, the Texans lead and get in with a win.

  • Steven59Steven59 Posts: 8,649 ✭✭✭✭✭

Too bad for the Steelers TJ Watt - 3rd grade MCL sprain - usually takes 6 or more weeks to heal.

Looks like the Houston Texans are in and CJ Stroud refuses to play like a rookie. I'm a little bummed out that the Colts are done, how can you not like watching the way Jonathan Taylor runs, a good old-fashioned power running back in a halfback's body.

Well, many folks are not Colt fans that is why they don't like watching a Colt running scared.

Chapeau to the Tejanos! First year coach, first year qb, and the right qb. As I noted before, having the second pick, with Carolina picking the wrong qb ahead of the Tejanos, was fantastic. Turns out the the creep DW was a great long-term decision for the Tejanos too, got them a bunch of draft picks and put them in position to take Stroud, now they have the momentum going forward and an elite qb better than DW. HST, imagine how good Cleveland would be if they had made a better decision at qb, they are very good as is and might make the AFC championship.

4th and short when the playoffs not just the game are on the line and you throw rather than give it to Taylor?

They deserved to lose, had they won I would have had a shot at a $1700 payday but the NFL will break your heart every time

very interesting happenings at the end of the late afternoon games

Arizona lined up for a game-winning FG, but Prater missed it. had he made it, the Chargers would have leapfrogged the Cardinals into the #4 spot. could've been Herbert to Harrison for the next 15 years.

edit: and not only did Prater miss the game-winning FG, but he missed another one on the previous drive. Two missed FGs in the last 3 minutes of the game to potentially make Marvin the Martian a Cardinal next season

Chiefs 2nd string players beat the hapless Chargers. Except for Chris Jones playing long enough to get a sack and a 1.2 million bonus.

I guess I’ll pick the Dolphins tonight as the Bills have a tendency to fall flat in important games.

After Baltimore embarrassed them 56-19? Playoff teams don’t lose by 5 touchdowns when the #1 seed is on the line.
