Without seeing the back, I can only presume the Griese got a PSA 7 because of the fisheyes on the dolphin. If that is the case, I can find piles of PSA 8 and 9 with that same issue. That is a brutal grade for such a sharp card. Should be a PSA 8 all day. Congrats on the beautiful checklist!

    8 all day long.

    It's a PSA 7 all day long. T/B centering is "7" centering.

Feel free to take all your negativity and move on. Your obviously not along for the pure fun of the rips so move along. You never have anything positive and you're stirring pots based on personal messages I have gotten. Please move along because I have a shit pile to rip. Thanks.

Hi- I am surprised at your reaction, not being negative at all. I believe this is the first time I ever commented on your thread. I just call it like I see it... some people don't like it....oh well. No harm done.

I see it's centered low, but on cards with an "undefined" border, PSA's all over the place.

I just think the overall appearance of the card warrants an 8, almost a 9.

Beautiful card, regardless of the number that gets assigned.

The centering (65/35) alone doesn't warrant a 7, but combined with the fish eyes I'd agree with the grade... I think I count 10 in the dolphin/helmet/sun rays of the logo and another 5 or 6 in his name. It is a shame some printer defects on an otherwise blazer of a card can bring the grade down so much. One of my favorite cards is the Bird/Magic RC and I've pulled about a dozen of them from packs. It's enough that now I don't care about centering on that card nearly as much as pulling one with no snow or black ink dots/lines on it.

Yo are you BLIND?! TB is around 55/45 EVEN within a PSA 10 standard...card is a 9+

Those 8s also have additional flaws, print defects and touched corners.

I re-joined the CC to make a big sub but can’t pull the trigger knowing I am going to get back cards 1-2 grades lower then if I submitted pre pandemic. Whats the point if the cards present better in a CS1 and would sell better raw? Not like they are fire and flood proof so the ‘protection’ angle is strange, I haven’t ruined a card that is in a cardsaver ever so I’m pretty confident they are good as is.

Fisheyes on the dolphin and on the Griese, but agreed it's still harsh.

Not arguing with you but if that's all it takes to go from a 10 to a 7 then grading is truly and completely screwed, and none of it is worth the plastic they put the cards into.

There should be several issues with a card for it to drop just 1 number much less 3. A 10 should be able to have issues and defects and still be a 10. Likewise all the way down the scale.

Is the expectation now that a 1 only has 10 things wrong with it? And they're all valued the same? That makes no sense to me, and why the past few years have been so frustrating to get grades.

There's ample comments about the cards he pulls. I don't see anything wrong with the last couple of comments I think we should let Uffdah decide what people can discuss since he started the thread.

This seems to be the case as a small group of folks feels compelled to analyze every card so they can rip PSA grading standards. The OP has provided a wonderful place to view or examine cards he's submitted, but the critiques are getting kind of old. Every one sounds the same, wah wah wah. Come on you guys, just enjoy looking and appreciating what's being shared. Thanks to the OP who has spent presumably thousands of dollars on his passion just for this purpose.

    Gobble.

Agree let Uffdah chime in on the comments. If they were my cards I would like seeing they people think my cards are nicer than the grade. We definitely do not want to derail his incredible thread.

The majority has spoken! There is a reason just about every thread since PSA changed their grading standards have had some degree of this going on.

^ Red is the color most prone to fading and on yours they are rich, deep and vibrant. Totally speculator! For future generations, keep it behind some UV glass :)

Amazing! I think for context, showing an aged card next to some of these pack fresh pulls would further explain just how extraordinary these cards are, and remind us of what they looked like 70 years ago as they were being pulled from fresh packs. Thanks for sharing!

Awesome card. What's the value for a card like this? I have no knowledge of these cards. Let's say you put this on EBAY what's your guess on the high bid?

You gotta love the narrative on the back of the cards. Settlers were sleeping peacefully and the Indians were the bad guys.....

This thread is about my personal journey to build a Hobby First Collection ripped from packs and vending that otherwise would likely not be opened. I don't mind a little discussion about grading but it doesn't need to dominate and I for sure don't want people getting on each other and creating hard feelings. I have more to open and intend to keep this thread going and want it to be as positive and fun as possible.

Don't forget to just enjoy the cards no matter what they grade :)

well said. i enjoy all of your cards no matter if they are graded or not. keep them going.

I know sports but most of the non sports, especially with the older ones, my knowledge is lacking. Why are they labeled as RE-ISSUE on the flips? When were they issued before, and what is the difference?

Every cello pack I get with an OC front card, the rest of them are OC. Looks like you did well with centering with this one. Good luck!
