If OSU somehow makes the playoffs they should decline the offer and volunteer for perhaps the Alamo Bowl'. After that performance there is no way in hell they deserve a bid to the playoffs. I'm afraid Ryan Day does not understand The Game.

Georgia didn't decline the invitation last year after getting thumped by Bama by 3 scores.

Georgia lost by 17 IN ALABAMA.

They Thumped everyone else last year by big scores.

OSU got their butts kicked at home.
After getting out gained by 1-8 Northwestern.

Brick knows what he’s talking about.

    I hope he’s wrong.

I hope OSU gets the 4 seed and travels to Atlanta, just like you do.

    😂😂😂

    PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Get either of these two to Atlanta

  • MaywoodMaywood Posts: 2,070 ✭✭✭✭✭

@Brick and @coolstanley, Ohio State shouldn't have to decline and Georgia shouldn't have accepted because it shouldn't be offered to a non-conference champion.

    Breaking news from Columbus Ohio.
OSU has hired a construction crew to enlarge the exits at the Shoe so fans can get out faster. Construction is expected to be completed by Michigan's next visit.

The flag hoisting at mid field of the home team by the visitors is simply a real bad look. Sportsmanship has a place and what I see in the image is not it.

As for some of the other comments... be careful what you ask for as you might not get just USC, but the ghosts of Howard Jones and John McKay.

very curious to see where Neon Deion winds up. never in my wildest dreams did i think he'd be this successful at the college ranks, but apparently he can recruit and coach like a mother. he has completely turned Jackson St around to the tune of 26-5 the past three seasons.

Colorado has already offered him the keys, and he has publicly stated that there are others (but didn't reveal them)

You’re right. Bama was the home team. Each team had equal tickets at Mercedes-Benz arena. Hardly a home game for Georgia. Wasn’t in Bama though.

Michigan has a two game winning streak in "the game" but I'm not worried. They are, after all, coached by a Harbaugh and he'll figure out how to screw it up. I think it's funny how some people like to point to the fact that Jim has brother John in the pro ranks to help him out. The way John Harbaugh runs the Ravens is hardly encouraging, he wouldn't be my first choice for game-day advisor.

My buddy actually mentioned that and I couldn't have disagreed more, Jim has more than enough coaching experience to handle his team by himself

There will be a mandated upset so to$U can get in

    12 team playoff approved for 2024.... :)

Now teams #13 and #14 will whine.

    .
If we played 12 this year.......

  • coolstanleycoolstanley Posts: 2,713 ✭✭✭✭✭

So teams would have to win 4 playoff games to win a title? Seems a bit too much for these college players imo.

Teams 1-4 have to win 3 games.
Teams 5-12 have to win 4 games.

I was hoping it would be either 6 or 8 getting in. I was actually surprised they agreed to 12.

I wouldn’t be surprised if k-state knocks off tcu. K-states offense is clicking better with Howard at qb and with deuce at RB it’s a good combo

I actually have always liked Michigan, but I'm not a one team college guy.

I like Notre Dame, Michigan, Florida State mostly

I am tired of Alabama, Ohio State, Clemson and Georgia above all

TCU-K State could be the best game and a K State win would not be a surprise.

He is a FOX announcer, so it would have to be a FOX game. So either the Pac 10 for Big 10.

in the 2nd quarter USC was up 17-3 and had just recovered a fumble at the Utah 39

now it's the 3rd quarter and USC is dead in the water

    What I think:
--- The expanded 12 team playoff is outstanding.
--- Choosing those 12 teams with an arbitrary method such as the current ranking method is absurd.
--- Ohio State should not be in the playoffs this season but neither should a host of other teams.

    I do.
    It will expose weak schedules.

Last night, #11 Utah (9-3) beat #4 USC (11-1).......and the Florida Gators (6-6) beat Utah.

I heard that it would be:
    6 - Conference Champions
6 - random teams with very good records

That would make sense but it still allows for too much bias and the almost certainty that the pairings will be rigged.

    Many here already know.

Grew up in the 70s loving the wishbone/option offense.

Enjoyed OU/NU and Bama for that reason and then grew to love the passion of the SEC, especially the worlds biggest cocktail party.

No one but Air Force runs the bone/option anymore, so I’m simply a college football fan now.

After that piss poor performance OSU does not deserve to be in. After that piss poor performance USC does not deserve to be in. I say give Georgia a bye in the first round.
