15K Medals
Yes, I'm sort of surprised they are still available, too. I understand the privy becoming unavailable, but there are 5K less of the medals. Because the other coins in the series show players in action, I think they were looking for an older Jackie Robinson to honor him. I like the medal and ordered this set (as well as the privy dollar and proof half). I like these coins and the tribute to the Negro league.
The point of a program is the sell coins. That privy mark dollar sold really well. Twice what the unc law enforcement dollar did during its entire year,
That said, collector fatigue is real. I really hope this doesn’t lead to privy marked coins with every commem series.

The Only commemorative coin program recently to have Overall sales Worse than the Negro Leagues was the National Law Enforcement coins.
That’s a low bar to overcome.
Week#2 sales for the Negro Leagues coins are tracking Worse than week #2 for the National Law Enforcement coins.
The Mint has nothing on launch schedule for a solid month after the launch of the Negro Leagues coins so there is no Mint competition and yet sales are Overall Dismal…

Interesting that the 2- coin set is still available. HHL none, I don’t remember if it was 1 and then removed after 24 hours. These are really headed the way of last year’s Mayflower 2- coin 🤨 ( and I recall they did better).

The Negro Leagues three piece set intrigues me, but the price is almost $800. I spend that kind of money on some more interesting things. In addition, if the price of gold drops a great deal, the value of the set will go along with it.

Serious question. What is the allure of the privy mark in this case? It’s not like there are very few for the coin it most likely will be the highest mintage of any of the offerings. What am I missing here?

It’s pretty much in line with most Commemorative programs these days. They seem to get less and less popular, giving us mintages that are far lower than even the original classic commemorative programs. Only time will tell if these will be worth anything in the long run.

Why take so much time tracking sales of something so dismal.
If the Mint would actually have coins to ship when they sell them, the situation would be a lot different.
I will buy one of each of these including the expensive (per ounce) gold for my commemorative set eventually, but I decided not to order any from the Mint because a 3-month wait should not be encouraged as the appropriate way to sell things. That applies to almost everything.

The United States Mint is holding $1,375,000 (in FY2021) in surcharges for the National Law Enforcement and Christa McAuliffe coins.
The question is "Did the United States Mint sell enough coins in the last 3 months of CY2021 for one of the two coins to be profitable or will the United States Mint pocket the entire $1,375,000"?

The Negro Leagues three piece set intrigues me, but the price is almost $800. I spend that kind of money on some more interesting things. In addition, if the price of gold drops a great deal, the value of the set will go along with it.

The only way to make money flipping commems is to send bulk with min 70.
Ordering them from the mint to quickly resell online isn’t viable. The mintage limits and the upfront minted have been high enough to prevent that.
Serious question. What is the allure of the privy mark in this case? It’s not like there are very few for the coin it most likely will be the highest mintage of any of the offerings. What am I missing here?
