Mike Hayes, one of the founding fathers of the sub group of Barber collectors on the forum, RIP. They host a long running thread, renamed in his honor. Great guy that I corresponded with frequently and met up with at several FUN shows.
My former 09O quarter. Yep it’s got issues but it was graded as a VG and priced below greysheet. I didn’t even request a “best price” when that turned up at a small show.

Yes, this. Mike was a great guy and one of my best forum buddies from about 2009 until I left for a long while in 2013. He was selling some of his seconds, and although I was a quarter guy, I bought three of his Halves to "tuck away". Here's another from those 3, and another coin I really like
“We are only their care-takers,” he posed, “if we take good care of them, then centuries from now they may still be here … ”
Here’s one from the 7070 album I really like. It was also my very first BST transaction back in 2007, from Barber dealer pony express/ Glenn H. Imagine is not juiced, and years spent in the Dansco have only enhanced the toning.
I like this coin, which was sitting in a Library of Coins album for ages. PCGS didn't like it and questioned the color, but NGC liked it in an MS62 holder. I think CAC might like it if I send it in.
@Walkerguy21D ... thanks for the kind words on the '19-D SLQ. I got lucky, yes, and it exudes lustre (the main reason for acquisition)...
I noticed the '22 Lincoln no D Strong Reverse Die 2 went up in guide price here very recently on CoinFacts. Makes me wonder if you guys think I should try to cross this into a PCGS holder. The depression line on Lincoln's head makes me hesitant. Think it will straight cross? (was $750, now $950. for VF20).

Well deserved…. My favorite date in the series, and a treat to see one in that beautiful state of preservation. And amazing a coin of that caliber was raw!
Tim- Great job on the 19-D quarter! As for crossing the Lincoln, I’d say it can be an expensive and frustrating process. My strategy is to wait til I have enough decent coins to send so I can cost average the rejects. Usually minimum 8 works for me.
Z - love the exonumia! Keep it coming! I’m gonna post one tomorrow night.

I like zooming in on the ceilings and at the far end of the corridor to appreciate the microscopic details in the dies. The sheen that you see in the windows is actually proof like surfaces polished into the die. The fields in that area are that mirror like.
I love it every time you bring out that '03-S to light! Best mid-grade 1903-S Barber Quarter I am aware of. Great coin for a VF35! Here is my VF35 PCGS:

Here's a new one I like,
For today, a near perfect 1806 quarter, PCGS XF-45 CAC. Looking for a matching 1807!

Here is a recent newp. CoinFacts says it is the second rarest of the New Orleans gold dollars.

Me too. 1919-D. Seller thought MS64 raw. I had it come back as PCGS MS63FH.

I bought this ~15 years ago off the BST and I love it. Unfortunately I don’t remember who the seller was. It now has a green sticker.

To give some perspective on the size of that medal.
It is not a behemoth, just slightly larger than a silver dollar.

So many nice coins! Again, too many to comment on them all, but I love the 1839-O half as a date in general. Not a bad coin to own!
