I have not paid so much attention to these coins, but appreciate the excitement surrounding them. I do like the idea of a 100th anniversary coin for both the Morgan and Peace dollars. I ordered the Philadelphia version.
As the title suggests, are these coins really going for above their nominal purchase price? I purchased them from the first day of availability and it was not hard to do. No website crashed and there was no sellout in the first few minutes. It was easy to order. A friend of mine passed on them because the ordering process was so easy, he felt these coins are not going anywhere and could buy them cheaper later. Perhaps he might be right, much later. I just wanted to get mine fresh from the mint.

if you don't know what a CC O D S P refer to in a Morgan thread, then you must be solely a flipper.
How DARE you call me a Flipper! Oh Yeah, I am!
Yes, I'll admit...I started here as a Flipper but ya know what - I've actually started collecting coins as well!
I've picked up a few coins over that past few months at some local estate auctions.
Heck, I even almost went to the Richmond show, as I was down in that area at the time!
As to your comment about not knowing.
My comment about the different Morgan's, with their respective privy marks, was more geared to the fact that other Morgan's (with the Privy marks) have their own threads. ...yet this thread seems geared toward the Peace and Morgan (without the privy mark) coins.
Then again, looking at how some see this thread, I can now see that this is also the "catch-all be-all Morgan thread".
On last comment about flipping...Ain't everyone here a flipper at some point?
Is there that many here who've never sold a coin - they've only been buyers?
Buying a coin and selling it 25 years later is not flipping. Buying a coin for the sole purpose of selling it is flipping.
I'd also suggest that flipping an occasional coin while collecting isn't the same as predominantly flipping.
I'd also suggest that flipping an occasional coin while collecting isn't the same as predominantly flipping.
I flip to lower the cost of what I keep.
A lot of people do, including myself. I have no trouble with flipping. I just don't think you would consider yourself a "flipper" rather than a "collector", would you?
I got shut out of the Peace release if any forum member has an extra they could part with I would be grateful.
I'm going to have six, but I missed out on the CC and O. I'd be up for a bit of horse-trading.
I intended to overnight them all to our host. Do you want them raw or graded?
Unfortunately I only have one of each of the O and CC. Raw is perfect.

These last purchases I was hoping to make a few bucks on the reverse proof sets to lower the cost of the 3 Peace Dollars I plan to keep. Didn't work out that way, so I'll keep both and maybe sell the proofs later.

For the unknowing (I.e. people like Me! ), and reading the above statement from djm...it appears that he (or she - don't know - don't want to offend) has some sort of insider knowledge/info as you eluded to.
Is that insider info from some contractor who works in Memphis, a Bulk Dealer friend, a Mint Employee friend, an actual Mint employee, etc??? Actually, I don't really want to know - especially if djm is the provider of reliable info based upon past results.
If the consensus of those around these parts is that what djm writes is very reliable info...that's good to know!

Anyway, I have a payment-method-blank Morgan O order, probably have to call them.
Good Luck in speaking with the Mint about missing payment information on a backordered item.
I did online chat with them and they told me that they don't know why my payment info is missing from one of my orders but is showing in all of my other pending/backordered items.
I asked if I could re-add it and they told me no.
I asked what would happen when it comes time to process/ship and I was told that they would reach out to me for payment info at that time.
Somehow I just don't believe them as they had no clue as to why the payment info was missing nor did they say they had ever seen that before...but yet they seemed sure that someone would call me (when at times it takes hours for someone to reach a Mint CSR).
The word is that they will email you if there’s a question. When I spent the afternoon (just kidding) on the phone with the mint, they pulled my orders up and told me that my info was showing on their side. I too, have no payment info on my order page ,for the CC Morgan’s. We’ll get through this 👍🏼
He mentioned next week but I’m prepared for Monday on.
Maybe a dumb question but is there really any difference between flippers and coin dealers besides the fact that dealers do it for a living and it’s just side income for flippers? Hope that everyone gets their coins soon. It feels like a lifetime since the first order in May.

It is clear whoever at the mint thought up this presale idea did not think it all the way through. No consideration was given to the credit card issues that would arise and no plan was in place to handle them.
Conspiracy theory alert !!
Did Ryder quit because he saw this coming or was he fired because he allowed it to happen ??
Calm down they are doing it this way so they don't get their butt kicked.
Keep your credit cards clean and sorted and there won't be a problem.
Presale will keep the production down and keep perceived value.
High demand items in other markets are sold this way all the time. If you don't like it this way you can cancel your orders and we can have a shot at 'em.
The Ryder thing is a joke as most here for many years know I do on a regular basis. As far as comments about the planning for the credit cards the backup is direct conversations with mint officials and many dozens of postings by forum members of their experiences with mint customer reps. My 22 coins were sold to another forum member weeks ago.
Inquiring minds want to know what is the basis of your trolling comments?

I have no idea. I am just beginning to explore enrollment. Did the ase S and that was easy. My order shows no payment info on 2 enrollments I just set up.
I mentioned this because Mike might be one of the advance release guys or know someone. Advance release comes like 5 days early or so. It got me thinking Tuesday or Wednesday. We’ll see.

This is from his eBay site. Always lower than his info ‘mercal. Well mostly. I have got some very good deals. It seems an indicator of movement as it’s showing the packaging and inhand as well. Anyway hope this is what I’ve been waiting for 😉

I'm getting ready for the shipping circus.

It's now October 15th, isn't it about time the Mint starts shipping these coins?
And I quote, Product shipments will begin in October
Does that mean the week of the 18th or does it mean the week of the 25th?
Or..........................does it mean, they will 'hopefully' ship in October.
Anyone receive theirs or been notified of shipping?
Mine still say backorder.
