The 19 is an example but I have a problem with a bunch of examples.
I respect everyone’s choice of collecting “what you like “ but several others with way more knowledge are trying to teach me about that type of toning and I’m just not seeing it. Maybe some day 😉
My father, born in 1935, died a few weeks ago at the age of 86. He was a Marine in the Korean War. He put together several full books of Mercs from circulation, minus the 16-Ds and varieties...had all the others. He gave them to me when I was 8 and that is what got me started in coins long ago. I have been a fan of Mercury Dimes ever since. This week, we buried my dad.
This dime is not necessarily a favorite but it is very nice and I like it. I bought it for $60 at Summer FUN last year as a MS67 and then got it to upgrade to 67+ so that's not such a bad thing. The hunt for nice Mercury Dimes continues. Thanks, Dad.

Here is my favorite, just recently picked up this coin and I love it. Looks incredible in hand even better than the pictures. Pictures have a matte appearance, in hand there are really incredible mirrors on this coin.

I think that they are all pretty... many of the ones post in this topic have incredible toning, thanx for posting them! I haven't had much opportunity to see anything like them in hand, and not sure if they'd be in my budget if similar became available!
The pics I take are poor but here are my TrueViews
I remember making this mercury dime, you must have bought it off me, forgot I even sold it!
After what is some 50+ years of loving the Mercury dime I finally began a short set. Here's a few. By the way, some beautiful Mercury Dimes you guys have posted!
1945-S MS67+
1943-S MS67+

This one has the double stamped D, which gives the appearance of manipulation for those not familiar with the different verity of D mm for the 1916. It also has a nice die crack that runs below Liberty to the rim.
Here's a Frisco & Denver crusty duo from 1925, PCGS AU55 and AU50, respectively. Frisco was a cross-over from an NGC AU58. Minor lighting adjustments on these TVs (contrast/exposure/shadows).
MS63 recently crossed to PCGS. I prefer the TrueView over the PhotoVision. What do you think?
Greg, you may have already seen this one on my IG.
I do recall seeing that one. I would prefer the photo that shows how it looks in hand. The TrueView definitely looks warmer whereas the NGC photo looks like it could be a bit over exposed, not sure. Nice though.

Got this from a DLRC auction recently. This isn't my series, and I didn't need this for any of the sets I'm working on, but I've never seen one like it before and had to have it. PCGS MS66FB — Photo credit is DLRC; eventually I'll send to PCGS for a TrueView.
Interesting coin! DLRC has a system where they rank coins by Eye Appeal from 1 to 5 stars. How many stars did they give this one?
Not my photo, but it's my coin. A number of years ago there was a run of late date mercs posted on ebay with ending times that were right in the middle of a night course I was teaching. They had the look I love, so I left a number of bids on one of those proxy bidding sites and got 5 or 6. This is one of them. It's in an NGC 66 holder, and I had it CACed at a CoinFest show in CT.

Since I am not a big Mercury Dime collector, I'll post this.
If I have to pick one, I guess it would be this one. No, it does not have a cameo label.
Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

It was assigned 4 stars. Obviously, a completely subjective rating. Their “degree of toning” rating was a 3/10—I’d love to see what a 10 looks like on that scale. I did subsequently get the TrueView.
I certainly don't mind. Lol, I love that 18-S (the others too) and I seriously thought about buying that 35-D but I really did not like the price. I'm glad it ended up in a nice set.

I can't because its in @keyman64 collection. I don't recall the date/mm , but its toned icy blue and I think a recent purchase.

Thank you. It's in here. I bought it late last summer and crossed it at Winter FUN. I have some of these in for reconsideration so the TV for the 1936 isn't showing up for some reason. Anyway, the 42-S is not in for reconsideration.
