I cherrypicked this coin back in June and shared it here but didn't say anything about the coin. It is a little extra special now as it just went through attribution at PCGS. Several years back, when I was working on Mercury Dime Varieties previously, I cherrypicked 2 examples in MS67 and a MS66FB example and sold them. Those were pretty nice but I finally have the right example. This coin certainly qualifies as one of my favorites now. It was previously blessed by CAC and might revisit them one day. I know ownership adds a million points to the grade and all but I could see this coin with a + one day.
TOP POP 2/0 DDO FS-101.
Here's a close up of the date. There are actually 5 different DDOs known for the date so you have to know what you are looking for in order to cherrypick the right one. I'm surprised that this DDO made it into the Cherrypickers' Guide years ago since it is rather minor and requires good light and a 16x or 20x loupe to cherrypick it...or sometimes just the right True View.

Here's another one that just went through attribution at PCGS. 1940-S FS-501 RPM in PCGS MS67. I cherrypicked this last month and it makes me pretty happy since it is a point higher than what I used to own 6-7 years ago. I'll keep looking for better. Pop 7/1...should be Pop 7/2 by the end of the week though since I know of the new top pop being attributed which is a 68+. I knew about the 68+ but could not afford it...poor man problems! It would be nice to locate a 67FB or 67+FB at some point.

@robec Those are just beautiful! You and Ben have nothing but great examples! I hope you are only stopping for today maybe. You could easily post every Merc in your collection. Thanks for posting.

+1! But am I a snob if I say I only like them with full bands?
Trying to find a 1926 - S with full bands is hard!
Not really too hard, it just takes a little patience. If you want to find a Mint State FB 1926-S with a CAC sticker then you will have a challenge. There was a 63FB on GC last month but no CAC and based on the images I was not crazy about it. There was a higher grade FB example at HA recently too but here again, no CAC. In MS and MSFB, the 1926-S is the Key to the series...when excluding the 1945-P anyway.
I prefer FB as well but sometimes it can't always happen. The hunt is always fun.

A newly acquired gift from a friend. At least it isn't a cleaned coin like my trouble maker, 1920s! Lol. Nice gift, huh?

Nice! I think it is safe to say that is NOT a MS66 by today's standards.

The pictures really don't do it justice. To me, it's a solid 67+ at least.

Not considered to be an error but a variety. It's a strong RPM, very nice!
