I guess they'll be having a big pool party down there in Tampa this summer. Time to break out the Kim Kardashian pool floats.

So does Brady now go into the Hall of Fame as a Patriot or a Buccaneer?

Like you, like me, Tom Brady has his own life and makes his own decisions. That we, individually, or collectively disagree with his decisions is immaterial. As a Pats fan, we should all be thankful he was our quarterback for 20 years and 6 SB wins.
I wish him nothing but the best. My prediction that he'd sign with TB was a lucky guess.

The funny/Scary thing is that there is a real possibility that the NFL training camp will be disrupted and canceled and Brady will never even throw a pass for the Bucs. His legacy gets tainted for nothing

NFL contracts for the most part, are predicated on what a player can do in the upcoming season or beyond.

Tom Brady is not worth 30 million dollars per season at this point in his career, and it's not even close. It's possible he may not even be worth 5 or 10, but we shall see.

The Patriots made the smart business decision in not meeting Brady's contract demands. There's no room for sentiment in a brutal game such as football.

I don't blame the Patriots at all. If there is any blame in this, sorry to say it falls on the back of Tom Brady who should have simply retired.

Bad move as well by the Bucs. Yes, they of course will sell more season tickets, but we'll see what their record winds up being in the 2020 season, and whether or not Tom Brady winds up getting booed by the Tampa Bay fans.

Brady of course used to be, not any more.

But i guess you and the Bucs front office think otherwise.

We shall see who is correct at the end of the season.

I think that Brady should get off to a decent start because he will be fresh and rested from the off season. But then barring injury, sometime during the season his age catches up to him and his stats will precipitously fall off...and then let the boos begin.

Sadly, it's an easy call because i hate to see Tom Brady end his career in this manner. But it was his choice.

Foles is coming off a dismal season with the Jaguars. The fact that the Jaguars are getting rid of him shows how much the Jaguars think of him moving forward.

I don't think Foles play in just four games had anything to do with his getting traded. That team went from back to back division titles heading into last offseason where they were thinking they were just a QB away, now a year later they're no longer considered a contender by anybody and have no need of a QB making 20+M a season. That pretty much sums up that situation.

those predicting Brady's demise with TB obviously aren't familiar with who he is now going to be playing pitch-n-catch with. by ditching NE and signing with Tampa, he essentially went from eating off the dollar menu at McDonald's to dipping his fingers in caviar. Evans & Godwin are a LEGIT tandem, and he could do much worse than Howard & Brate at the TE position. last year he went for 4k and a 3:1 ratio with an embarrassing array of "talent" surrounding him, so expect even better numbers this year.........barring injury, of course.

also take into consideration Tampa's D -- not one of the league's best. also take into consideration Tampa's running game -- one of the least effective last year. opportunities for him to chuck the pigskin will be numerous.

in terms of stats, he could easily have a monster season

you'll never be able to outrun a bad diet

TOTALLY AGREE! Brady is and always will be way better than Wentz. Heck Romo is still probably better than Wentz...…..

and you know what I think of Romo!

I guess some are forgetting that the Patriots last season started off 8-0 and some out there were thinking they could go undefeated. Well their final eight games they finished 4-4 including a first round wild card loss.

Was the Patriots "collapse" all Tom Brady's fault? Of course not. But was some of it his fault? Of course it was. I didn't see the usual pin-point accuracy in his throws in a number of those games in the second half of the season.

Without question he ran out of gas in the second half due to the aging process. It's not even debatable, and now he's a year older.

I expect a similar progression this season because of his age, and if he gets nicked up, it could be a lot worse. I'm not predicting a flop, but the possibility is there.

Again, Brady should have retired. Unfortunately it seems they're probably going to carry him off on a stretcher into retirement, rather than him walking away.

Brady's heart is what helped make him great. However it's also what may wind up causing him a lot of pain and suffering in the future from injuries, CTE, etc.

Oh please, if Foles would have showed the Jaguars anything relating to being a quality #1 QB, they would have kept him. What you stated wouldn't have mattered at all.

Foles is a competent #2 backup and that's it. That is what isn't worth 20 million.

That entire situation is pretty easy to sum up if you're actually paying attention, steve. While Foles was on IR they got above average play from the backup rookie QB making under 500K and going into this season it made more sense to go with the guy making 500K over the guy making 15M. All that money saved can go towards filling the numerous other holes on their roster like the defense that went from top 3 to bottom third of the league.

Guy got hurt first quarter, week one then missed the following 8 weeks after surgery. Came back and had two decent games where his defense gave up a total of 75pts then had his only bad game in a Jags jersey with three turnovers. The guy literally played bad once. Case closed. B)

    Pride goeth before the fall...

I really never thought I’d see Tom Brady putting on another jersey.

    Why?

    What’s the point?

    To what end?

Spite is the answer; short and simple. I’m of a mind that even an MVP and a Super Bowl win wouldn’t undo this damage. He wasn’t forced out and didn’t retire then Unretire. He left a franchise that wins the division every year and is a SB contender annually. So the reason he left is to prove it’s all me and it’s always been all me. And at 42-43, that’s a bad time to pick to make your stand on that point.

Prediction: TB12 ends up flat on his face (or back) and the Pats win 10 or more games

I only want to see the schedule because I don't want to agree now only to find out that after a possible Covid-19 shortened offseason the Bucs get the Saints week one.
Alright let's do it,their first meeting. It's probably going to be a primetime game anyways. Cool?

edit: we won't know who will be the home team until the schedule comes out though.

    Bucs/NO might get me interested.

Let me see how the schedule looks like before taking this one. It should be out mid-april.

Deal, as soon as we determine avatars for the loser. Barry might get pissed off though if I happen to lose.

Here will be the losers avatar :D

We shall see who is correct at the end of the season.

I think that Brady should get off to a decent start because he will be fresh and rested from the off season. But then barring injury, sometime during the season his age catches up to him and his stats will precipitously fall off...and then let the boos begin.

Sadly, it's an easy call because i hate to see Tom Brady end his career in this manner. But it was his choice.

You still havent admitted the eagles should have kept Foles so I suppose I don't need to worry about admitting anything :D

Spin it any way ya want Eric, and that's fine, it's sports talk. However the bottom line is what i had emphatically stated even after Foles helped win the Super Bowl for the Eagles in an amazing string of performances, that he is best suited for a number of reasons, as a #2 QB, not a #1.

It was an easy call then, and it's even an easier call now.

You all like how this went from a Tom Brady thread to a Lebron James thread to Nick Foles/Carson Wentz thread, right?
Keep feeding those keets notifications. >:)

Well at least it hasn't gone Godwin's Law yet in mentioning Adolph Hitler.

Or did i just inadvertently do that? 😮

I'm offering up my avatar for two weeks to anyone that the Tampa Bay Bucs win more games than the Philadelphia Eagles once football resumes. Any takers?

Too soon for me. I mean it's not even MLB season yet. Bring it up it again with around a couple weeks to go before the regular NFL season.

But still i'm not sure if I wanna do a season long avatar bet. I sort of like them per game, so i can focus my joy or sorrow accordingly. 😉

Bucs WR Chris Godwin has a Law? He better invoke it before Tom Brady asks for his #12 jersey.

Ok,I'll mention again before the season starts and I was only looking for 2 weeks for the bet not all season.

I see some early avatar bet NFL action already.

The smack on here could get uglier than ever this coming NFL season.

    I like it. 😆

But i don't think Brady will ask him for it.

Recall that Brady was actually willing to give up his #12 jersey to someone who the Patriots signed or were going to sign.

So i don't think Brady will ask Godwin to do that, but who knows?

He'll probably end up with it eventually. Tampa Bay plays at NE in 2021 and that would seem like the perfect day for NE
    to retire #12.

Wrong! Speaking for myself and what I know of my fellow Pats fans, we are New England Patriots fans.
