I just don't buy it. I don't buy what is being said about Tom Brady being washed up. They won two super bowls in the last three years and all of a sudden just because they have a 12-5 season he's a washed up has been? The New England Patriots have been the measuring stick of greatness for the last 20 years, and Tom Brady is the reason why. I just don't buy what is being said about Brady. They're trying to feed me a $hit sandwich for lunch, and I flat out refuse to eat it !!

given protection and receivers who can separate, Brady will be just fine. In addition, the running game was only viable the last month or so of the season. an effective play action will also open up receivers.

the running game was never viable . Sony was a wasted 1st round pick.

We used to draft great in the 1st round. About 5 years ago the guy in charge of good picks left and now I guess idiot Bill the GM is doing it , and its wretched

very true about Sony. it sickens me to think we could have had Chubb instead. that guy is a monster. Rex is a decent back, but if he has more than 10 touches a game he is out for a month. made of glass.

George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.

In all seriousness, I thought his name was influenced by the release of Sony's Play Station in 1994. Maybe I am misremembering?

Although his words did not specify where he would be returning to play, I assume it will be in NE. I'm ready for them to load up and go all in.

I’m already tired of all these little hidden clues that he is throwing out there, it’s classic Brady where he completely dodges the direct question and dances around it. I hope he stays but don’t want to listen to all this crap about clues that he throws out there to keep everyone guessing

I think it is a pretty sure bet he will be staying in NE. He still wants to play football and his owner is "hoping and praying" he returns. Kraft will pull rank and make it happen even if BB disagrees

Play Station was first introduced Christmas 94. I know I have seen it as Michel's nickname but I thought I had read somewhere that his family named him after it. I am probably wrong. :#

In Japan, yes. Doubtful that Sony's family was naming him based on a Japanese console. The Playstation was released in the US on 9/9/95.

Good point. I have seen him called "Play Station" in college as a nickname. And he was born in early 95. I must have read something and mangled the takeaways a bit.

    Tom Curran :D

I used to sit behind him in 8th grade science class and whack him over the head , he used to bring little stormtroopers and chewbaccas to school in his pocket , little Tommy wearing his Izod little alligator shirts :D

I don't remember him playing any sports in school but to be fair to tom , I don't remember much , I used to get baked before that class behind the gym B) he was a nerd but tried to pull off the preppie thing

I actually see his lab partner David once in a while , I have to do an oil pan gasket on an impala for him next week.

Come to think of it , my lab partner in that class is dead , he committed suicide by driving his car at high speed into a Stop and Shop building. Yikes what a mess , RIP Jim blake , poor kid his family was a mess

Seems as though , all said and done , Tommy might have made more of himself than the rest of us :D

He is still a patriots rumpswab though , team friendly Bill B whisperer type , mr insider , I'd like to see him actually challenge these fools on something in a press conference , instead of enabling them with the excuse making.

its all part of the negotiation process. why would they negotiate against themselves and divulge future wishes that could be used against them at the negotiating table?

Report: Tom Brady and family have moved to Connecticut, suite at Gillette Stadium cleaned out

Just a total guess but based on a number of logical reasons, i'd venture that the chances of Brady NOT being with the Patriots next season is well over 50%.

It would have been a bit of a shock to think like that early last season, when some out there were talking about an undefeated season for the Patriots.

He cleaned out everything at Gillett and bought a house in Conn and moved. Sounds pretty much like he's not coming back next year to me. They better get hot on a replacement I guess.

Having no skin in the game, but just being a football fan, and in my view every good football fan should be a fan of someone like Tom Brady...I hope you're right and he finishes his career with the Patriots.

That being said, the reasons are starting to accumulate as to why he may not be back.

    We shall see.

He should come to the Vikings and win the Super Bowl for us while beating the Patriots!

Probably won't happen next year but we could be looking for a good QB in 2021.

I can tell you this much, I’m already sick and tired of hearing about it on a daily basis in NE. He is going to drag it out and keep people guessing by dancing around the subject, as good as he was as a QB he is actually better at dancing around a direct question

I agree. so much of my local sports talk radio up here in maine is dominated by where Brady will end up. It does get tiring.

to be fair to the sports pundits , they don't really know anything or do anything.

They are all dead men walking as far as job prospects are concerned

anyone with the internet , twitter etc. can do without all of that.

I listen to sports talk for the lulz mostly. I mean the run up to the playoffs everything they said about the Pats was wrong, they all thought we would beat the titans , the titans couldn't beat the Ravens etc. It was like they were all tv weathermen as far as the success rate of the predictions

Brady is officially not under contract. It's possible that cleaning the suite was procedural. Or maybe Gisele just wanted it extra clean for the new season.

As for the house thing, I think it's a non-story.

Well, I can't wait until the news of where he is going is finally revealed. The suspense is driving me crazy. It's probably the biggest news story in sports as far as I'm concerned, and it's a mystery. My money is on him staying in New England.

It’s a huge story but I’m already sick of hearing about all the opinions of the best writers, it’s ridiculous some of the theory’s they are coming up with. My money is he stays IF they address the receiving corps, Greg Olson didn’t even get a look for much needed TE help so who knows if they will even try to get him some help offensively to lure him in. If they keep with what they got then I hope he tells them to screw. AJ Green is a name being mentioned here as well as Danny “Playoffs” Amendola..

There was a report last weekend saying that the Raiders are planning on offering him a 2yr/60M deal but I just don't see him wanting to go play for that team. At the very least,if those numbers are what he's expecting on the open market then I don't see how Kraft just doesn't pony up and pay Brady it.

The pats are terrible at managing players so rest assured they will screw this up. I am sick of hearing about how they probably wont pay Tom 30 million , rumor has it Bill will offer him 20!

Bill steaming turd of a GM bellichek only thinks he is worth 20 you know. Bill is the reason the team is short of money, he gave AB 10 million for 1 game , paid demarius whatsis 2 million then cut him before the season started , signed then cut bennet for no obvious reason , but signs people like slater to 5 million dollar deals to play on special teams :D

Didn't amendola walk over a 2 dollar an hour raise? I bet if we had danny we could have won just one more game last season and had a bye and home advantage instead of the chiefs . No instead , lets staff the entire offense with minimum wage people moonlighting from wendy's .

Bill is the smartest coach in the league and the dumbest GM somehow rolled into one.

Name the last good draft pick not named gronkowski the Pats made? Can't nobody think of a single answer to that :D

  • doubledragondoubledragon Posts: 23,269 ✭✭✭✭✭

Yeah, Greg Olsen is going to the Seahawks, so that's out the window. I think the Pats definately have to get him some receiving help, because it's very clear that he is pissed about it, and needs the help. I don't see him going to the Raiders and becoming the bride of Chucky.
