Thank you. I actually don't even know about the other versions. I think these Ogden's cards are really cool, but I do not actively collect them. I have two of the three lacrosse-related cards and this Twain. I would randomly search eBay for a Twain card and this one popped up recently on an open auction. I ended up getting it for about $25. I'm not really sure if that is a good price for the card or not in terms of hobby value, but it boiled down to me thinking I could get at least $25 worth of enjoyment out of the purchase.
Do you collect them? I'd love to see a thread with your stuff and a brain dump of sorts. This set really is fascinating, with a ton of interesting cards.

I hadn’t contributed a hockey card to this thread yet, since I barely own any. However this is a personal favorite. I had mentioned to @MrHockey years ago that Clarke was one of my favorite vintage hockey players and he picked me up this raw auto while he was at the Expo in Toronto. Love that it’s a 70s OPC card to boot!
Wise is the only pitcher in Major League history to hit two home runs while throwing a no-hitter. He was also the winning pitcher for the Boston Red Sox in Game 6 of the 1975 World Series, considered by some to be the greatest Series game ever played.

I'll start by re-posting the image guide that shows you how to tell the difference between the different Base versions of all the 1901 Ogden's cards. F Base is super easy to distinguish because it is the only one with cursive 's' at the end of the word on front. There are some subtleties to study in order to correctly identify which version you have on these items. Please note, there are a significant volume of 1901 Ogden's cards that have been mislabled by PSA on the grading label and pop report, relative to correct 'Base', so look at the card and do not trust the accuracy of the label until proven.
I believe that Twain you have came from Martin in Thailand? Check the corners when viewing the thin edge from the side to look for recoloring just in case. Most of his items are ok but I've found recoloring on several black border items from him in the past. I don't think he recolors them but I do think he does not pay attention to whether or not they've been recolored when he acquires them.
Here's one of my favorite Nolan Ryan cards. Purchased the 1989 Topps Traded set and I liked the centering and corners on this one and so I sent it out to his foundation along with his current donation price (see website for current prices) and it came back about 3 weeks later. Then got it into a PSA holder. My first Noaln auto.
I have always been a fan of the Yankees and as such have collected as much of their stuff as I can. Cards, photos, bats, balls - you name it. I let my eyes lead the way as I sift through the cards of the era searching not just for book value but more for beauty. And one of the best parts about these (they fall predominantly from 1935-1941) is that they were some of the best looking items produced during the era. They were full of color, imagery was photo quality, they had the top stars and it is still an all American brand. After all, if you played sports growing up and came up short, you almost were certainly asked at one point in your career if you had eaten them for breakfast, with the implication being that if you had, you’d almost certainly would have done better. How’s that for good branding?

This card is the intersection of a few collecting loves. Providence College basketball greats. TTM returns. Early 90s Skybox basketball. Doesn’t hurt that the card’s a 10.
I sent these to his foundation about a year ago when he was signing for $25 in the mail (which was an absolute steal). Then earlier this year, he bumped his prices for cards up to $100. No thanks. Good thing I sent two of his 1985 Topps Rookie.

Thanks Wheaties! Nice Dickey! Bill looks like he is pitching with a finger missing!
Very nice. I am just curious as a collector. Where is the mark?

Because 1998 Pinnacle Certified was never officially released, each player in the Epix set had a missing version that was supposed to be inserted in Pinnacle Certfied packs. However, the PBF introduced these missing Epix Moment, Season, Play, or Game versions that people believed to have never been produced, printed, or distributed. Please see our separate article on 1998 Pinnacle Epix for a checklist of these cards.
I had a few of these cards made after Johnny's induction. For those that don't know about it,. the Rookies app is a really great way to make custom cards.

I figure these two need to be posted together. Lamar and Norma Hunt, the First Couple of the American Football League.

Prehistoric time has always fascinated me.
Today's pick has another great image of MJ dunking on former Bulls teammate Orlando Woolridge.

Moves me back a dozen years and I'm not aware of any earlier issues.
Love it! I've got the lacrosse card from that set. It is also the oldest lacrosse card that I know of.

Cool custom card in 1962 Fleer design, which was actually Alworth's rookie season although his first card actually came along the following year.
Last National Leaguer to bat .400! He would be 121 years old today.

I'll go with MJ for today as well. I love this Czech Stadion Gold redemption Jordan card.
Great pick! My choices are pretty limited when it's basically what version of MJ will I post today? lol.
It could have been much worse, they could have thrown the MJ crying face on top of that Tiger fist-pump body and truly screwed with us.
