As long as the Mets don't have a good laugh at the Phils' expense in this last series before the All-Star break.

If we can't beat the Mets again at this point, then perhaps the Phillies should look to schedule some games with the local assisted living, little old ladies baseball team. :p

My Mother will be 95 in November and could probably pitch a perfect game against the Phillies. :)B)>:)

A warm and friendly thank you to the New York Mets. Always there to lend a helping hand when the Phillies need a win for a confidence builder.

Thanks again Mets - We appreciate your most kind and thoughtful assistance.

Been meaning to ask you Philly guys...I read not too long ago that Kapler may be on the chopping block. Any truth to that?

Just read about Herrera putting the big beat down on his lady at the Golden Nugget in AC. Now a huge suspension, which will cost him well over $2m. May he never play MLB baseball again. Domestic violence issue, just like Stephen Wright of the Red Sox...he got reinstated, but in my book, it's one and done. Now come the mea culpas, which ring hollow.

I live in Atlanta, but not a Braves fan...looks like the Phillies have some work to do.

With the Dodgers coming to Fenway soon, I suspect that series will be the final nail in the coffin this year my Red Sox team. Hapless, under performing, and unable to get key hits, with pitching on par with Single A ball.

It has been an interesting ride this season! It nearly mimics my life, some wins and lots of losses, lol.

The Phillies are still solidly in the playoff hunt. It's always fun to get there, even though we know it's going to be a long shot to get into the World Series this season.

Frankly, right now the Dodgers just look too good for any other team to beat them for the NL pennant.

But maybe the Phillies get hot in the playoffs and windup meeting the Yankees again in the WS. Realizing it's a very big "maybe." :|

    I agree with ya!

I don't know the full situation with his contract, etc. But the Phillies have worked hard to try to put together not only a winning team, but a team of good character. I would be most surprised if Herrera is back next season with the Phillies.

As for Kapler, if the Phillies make the playoffs, then he'll be back. If the Phillies nosedive, then Kapler's return would be very precarious.

Well at the All-Star break, I think perhaps the best that can be said is we're still in the playoff hunt. :|

Nola pitched OK today, there's hope that at least one starter will be consistent down the stretch.

What about that A-Hole that was throwing at the Mets the other day? ;)

Hey Stevek...thought I'd salvage your thread before it falls off the page.

Whazzup with your Phillies? You must be having nightmares and on some serious meds. B)

I thought that I made it quite clear what my views were about the Phillies current situation in my last few posts.

We shall see what happens in the second half.

I don't follow your thread, only the overall MLB standings. If I followed your thread I'd have to bring a sandwhich to keep track of all your stuff. I take it you are less than thrilled with the current performance of your team. B)

Tis only beisbol, nor more, no less. In the scheme of life it means absolutely NADA!!

According to the Philadelphia Inquirer's click data, their article about Doug Peterson's round of golf in Lake Tahoe got more clicks than last night's Phillies box score. The Inquirer also claimed that the Kardashian articles are getting 10x as many clicks as the Phillies. Most Phillies fans are down the shore for the summer, and find it more exciting to scrape sand out of their bottoms than turning on the fightin's.

    Today's game attendance:

    43,075

I take it by today's lack of bragging that the Philly's lost another one! ;)

No, they won. But losing 2 outta 3 is what makes us quiet. :-)

43,000 of those were freebies given by stevek to stevek's gambling buddies.

Nope, just the greatest sports fans in the world out to enjoy a good ballgame. Hoping the Phillies can make the playoffs and then perhaps do something from there. While eagerly waiting for the NFL to begin because we all know that the Eagles are sitting on a monster season.

Now you get to play the Dodgers! Have fun with that. B)

I think that i may understand a tiny bit now about how General Custer felt at the Little Bighorn as far as getting slaughtered. :/

    That was brutal
    Phillies 2
    Dodgers 16
I hope the 2 losses followed by a win thing does not continue.

In this case, it can't, because it's a 4-game series.

Phillies had a 6-1 lead in tonight's game, now down to 6-5 going into the top of the eighth.

We really need to hold on and win this game for a confidence builder. :|

  • stevekstevek Posts: 29,039 ✭✭✭✭✭

Nice 1-2-3 inning. That's the way to do it!

Now how about some insurance runs in the bottom of the eighth.

  • stevekstevek Posts: 29,039 ✭✭✭✭✭

Come on Phillies...just one home run for the inning.

Is that too much to ask?

  • stevekstevek Posts: 29,039 ✭✭✭✭✭

    Top of the ninth.

    Pitching must step it up.

  • stevekstevek Posts: 29,039 ✭✭✭✭✭

Come on Morgan...get mad out there!

Sorry...I see the Phillies scored 3 in the bottom of 9th. That thing I was watching online was slow and wrong.

Yes, that online site based in Tasmania, is often slow and wrong for some reason. It might be that they get the game of cricket mixed up with baseball.

Looks like they both got back on track last night! B) I'm thinking a 3 to 1 series for the Dodgers. :)
