Outscored by the Dodgers 37-20. I don't know who should feel more frustrated by this - Phillies pitchers, or the Dodgers, for only splitting the series.

The Dodgers probably feel silly for not sweeping the inferior club from the East. I know I would if I was them!

I'm not so sure that a series split at home should ever be considered a success. But in this case considering the circumstances, i'll take it.

At least they didn't lose much ground to the Braves / Nats.

I like the way this team reacted to Harper's walk off double the other night. You can't fake that kind of enthusiasm.
That tells me this team isn't going to quit. But we shall see. Kaplar's job may depend on it.
Phillies coming off a day of rest, back home, playing well, and I think very motivated to get this series against the first place Braves off to a good start.

I'm picking the Phils to win this game tonight.
Steve, don't you always pick them to win.
Only when they are playing.
That means you are correct about half the time.
Tonight's game will be the good one of those halves. 👍

That's a mirage.
Which often happens with Mets fans who are so thirsty for a winning team, they start hallucinating and see things such as Ed Kranepool in the Hall of Fame.

Kicking around the Phillies is like abusing a disabled person. Given their history of finishing in last place, more than any other team in professional baseball, it’s downright cruel to make fun of their failures.
The Phillies still hold the record for the most consecutive losses, 23. I believe that it was in July of 1961. That was a "fun" month. I was a young fan at that time. The only big thrill in those days was when Tony Curry was had the 5th highest batting average in the league … in May. After that he drifted out of the majors with a lifetime stat of something like .235.
The Phillies used to play in a rundown ballpark called the Baker Bowl. Calling it "a dump" was compliment. In the early 1900s part of the grandstand collapsed when a bunch of fans rushed to one corner to check out a nearby fire. Apparently that was more interesting than what was happening on the field.
One year, the ownership renovated the clubhouse. They drove new nails in the wall where the players could hang up their clothes. Obviously it was an improvement over the old ones which were probably rusty.

I blame the rain delay for that Phillies loss.
Although it could have been the position of the moon with the gravitational pull, affecting the Phillies ability to properly swing their bats.
Which can be predicted with 100% accuracy.....
.....after the game is over. LOL
I hope rain delays aren't a normal reason for a philly loss. The Phils / LA game starts at 12:35 and thunderstorms predicted for this afternoon.
An ugly series for the Phils, but to come away with a 2-2 split is about the best they could hope for against the Dodgers.
Wooooooooooooooo another win!
Phillies 7
Dodgers 6
Go Phillies!!!

I see the Philly's have a 1 run lead on the hapless cross state rivals.
Well, we're hanging in there.
If you call loosing to the Pirates..."hanging in there".
Rhys goes south for his 21st HR to win it for the Phils, 2-1.
It is nice to see yet another win!

Lately the Phillies seem to be winning a good number of these close games.
That's a good sign. 👍
Won again, 4-0 over Detroit.
Starting to play a bit like a team with championship potential. 🤞
We shall see.
Maybe. After all, it was the Detroit Tigers. next up : ATLANTA.

Phillies won't need any luck to win tonight.
Outhitting the Braves so far, but down by 5 runs. 😕
Alright bases loaded. Come on now!
One time for stevek. Please!
One little easy home run ties it up.
Can't get a friggin' clutch hit. 😒
Outhitting the stinkin' Braves by 8 to 5, but losing by 4 runs.
Only the Phillies. 😒
Do they sell liquor by the gallon at the store?
I may need to make an order.
I'm gonna sit outside and watch the night sky for meteorites.
More exciting than watching the Phillies lose. 😒
9-2 Final Braves! Great game.
Go Brave's...….let's get the broom out.
This game is beyond ugly.
Go Eagles!!!!!
Has a MLB team ever scored 100 runs in a game?
Braves might do that tonight.
Final score prediction:
Braves 102
Phillies 1
No, this is NOT a cheat post thread yet so please stop asking okay?
Maybe later.
I just texted Gabe Kapler.
Told him to tell the Phillies pitchers to throw underhand. I figured it might help.
Maybe you could get that outfielder from Baltimore that got a save the other day throwing 56MPH lobs in there!
I just love it when a plan comes together.
Are the Braves up 3 TD's yet?!
We can see them Phillies in the distance!
