We have lost a great member BEAR (Abe) RIP

Bear passed away Sunday surrounded by his family.
He was a wonderful person, with a great family.
I got to know he and his wife in the last year....very sad that this relationship ended way too early.
Thanks Laura for the info ...

I am at a loss for wordsimage

He was a great human being, kind, generous and always there for everyone!
He will be missed as I consider him like the loss of a family member.
We all knew this was coming as well as he did, but never ready for this moment.

He will be remembered for his vast knowledge of coin collecting
    Kindness to others
Humor in good and bad days
And just a stand up great man.

Bless you Abe, RIP the pain is overimage

    Stefanie

PS........Abe was so proud and had so much fun assembling his "Bears Legacy Collection"
He commented to me that when he is gone at least his collection will be around for people to see

Please take a look at his collection as it will be a permant thread on my website

A few last emails we had together, when I asked him how he was doing

    1) "Well, they are trying a new Chemo and the last medication available

for my condition. I have taken one dose and I hope that today is a harbinger

of long term remission. While I am under active medical treatment I am also

getting palliative home care. Each week a nurse comes by to check on me and

to insure that my pain is fully controlled, as well as all medications are re ordered

as the doctor seeks to keep me pain free. Today, a special Kaiser attendant came

to our apartment and gave me a 20 minute hot shower. It really felt great. My attitude

has improved and I have regained a sense of hope and well being."

    2) "I got the news today, all treatment has failed and I am going opn the hospice program. I guess

the only thing I leave behind of lasting value is your kind presentation of my Legacy Collection."

A true loss to this membership.

His username and avatar deserve official forum retirement.

Bear was one of the all-time greats. I was going to say all-time great collectors, but Bear was much more than that. A great voice of reason and logic on these Forums, a great numismatist, a great family man, a great poet laureate (who can forget the many stories of Coinalot?), and for those who knew him, certainly a great person.

My condolances to his family who he loved dearly.

Members of this Forum will miss him every day.

    Rest in peace, Abe.
