Re: Are all evenly-colored early coppers most likely recolored?
The grading services body bag nice looking early copper like crazy. If they were as tough on early silver, very little of it would make into slabs. You can really alter the surfaces of an early silver and now early gold coin by stripping it, and it will still grade. A lot of early copper that has had little or nothing done… -

Re: Do you any of you think that any of this late 80's early 90's unopened crap that I bought will be w
There are only a handful of late 80s-early 90s boxes that have held their value over the years since the release year- 93 and 94 SP baseball, 92 Stadium Club Hi# FB, 92 Fleer BK rack (CardKid-nice box by the way) are the only ones I can name off-hand. Even stuff that seems like it's gone up in value like 93 Finest, 95… -

Re: Proof trade dollars with chopmarks?
The thread "Do you have any circulated proofs in your collection?" shows proof from one year that were put into circulation. I'll look at my other files and see if I can give you more dates. Looks like 1875 max of 68; 1876 max of 65; 1877 max of 31; 1878 94; 1879 max of 53. I do not have data for proof Trade dollars… -
Re: What's the most valuable card you pulled from a pack?
Value at time of the pull: 1986 Donruss Jose Canseco in the summer of 86 or Frank Thomas 1996 Leaf Lmtd Lumberjacks Black Border. Canseco's were white hot that summer, but it seems like the Thomas was $$$$ as well, maybe even more than Jose. Cards that later became high value: 1980 Topps Rickey from a KMart rack pack in… -
Re: Prices realized not working- please comment so pcgs fixes this.
Is there a way to change the default settings? I don't want to download all auction results all the way back to 1900,,,,, It slows my download and lots of times it freezes and won't download at all for me. The last 2 to 5 years are all I really care about. Only (1) 1938-D Buffalo Nickel has sold at auction since 1900.… -
Re: Can anyone get a message to Jim Leyland?
<< <i>Do you watch the Tigers?? You can look at overall numbers all you want and they only show what happens over a full season...they don't show the consistency. When the weather is warm, the Tigers 'swing for the fences' approach works great and the offense lights up the scoreboard. When it is cold, those same swings… -
Re: I'm in love with Jordan inserts...
MJ inserts are a hot market but there are some slept on gems that are still affordable. I absolutely love that Team Leader along with the Total D and All Star inserts from 92-93 Fleer. The 93-94 Scoring Kings is another stunning insert. So much of the heat has fallen on the Precious Metal Gems and other serial numbered… -
Re: Quite the numismatic accomplishment
<< <i>You denigrated yourself just by posting back. Please don't dignify my remarks with a response The coins are superb, I'm sure. Many of the hoi polloi (those of us with a net worth under $10M) could not hope to emulate or approach your expertise. That the owner of these put together this set is applaudable and surely a…
