I would call to see if they are having issues with card.....
something like this happened when UHRs came. found out they were trying to charge the card I had on my account then the one I placed order with.

I think the card is ok. I ordered a 5 oz. Glacier National Park NP-7 yesterday morning, and it showed up this morning!

I think they use the BINGO method. Big ball with all the order numbers in it. Spin it, reach in and and say, "Process number 38XXXXXXX." Now, go to the Collectors Universe Massage Board and see what reaction we get!!! image

Someone posted in the order status thread that his order, timed stamped 6:47, has gone in process. That means the Mint has either cancelled a lot of orders or are not using first in/first out.

If the mint doesn't keep within the guidelines of -

    a. Satisfying all valid orders first that were submitted before the wait list was posted
    b. Deleting or removing all orders that violate their order policies, including no credit, multiple order, etc., etc., etc
    c. Fulfilling the wait list on a first come, first served basis

    then the SHTF IMHO.

Good to see that several "later" orders seem to have made it in under the wire. But I'm not seeing any evidence of the Mint playing favorites. Most likely they killed quite a number of duplicate, bad credit card, or over the HH limit orders and are now simply able to fill more orders placed later on Thursday.

Until I see an order placed on Friday getting filled while others placed Thursday are cancelled, I'm not seeing any evidence of foul play.

And PS...I'm also not seeing many individuals claiming to have been totally shut out on Thursday either.

I was at work during the sale and missed all of the fun. image

My girlfriend finally got thru online at about 4:30? and ordered 4 sets (38378XXX) on her debit card. She has had the daily max on her card raised for the amount, so that shouldn't be a problem.

Then ordered 1 set on my card (38384XXX). Both orders are being mailed to the same address.

    My order is "in process" hers is still "on hold" ! ? ! ? . . . I'm starting to get a little worried ! ! !

    1947-P & D; 1948-D; 1949-P & S; 1950-D & S; and 1952-S.
Any help locating any of these OBW rolls would be gratefully appreciated!

I suspect that the multiple orders are coming under very close scrutiny and getting rejected as much as possible. The Mint wants to get as many orders out to as many different of its regular users as possible. I suspect that they have a database that tracks customer loyalty. Those customers are getting the cancelled orders first.

For a government agency, that is bound by the FOIA, I sincerely doubt that they are doing "customer loyalty" instead of a FIFO on eligible sets. It would cause quite an uproar if they did.
If they were a private organization, such as APMEX, then I could see that happening, but not a governmental one.

No....the "scrutiny" doesn't matter. The part I am referencing, which would cause an issue, that should have been obvious since i referred directly to it, is the part I have bolded in your statement above....

But does In Process actually mean you have an accepted order and will get sets?

Who's familiar with these wait lists?

You just might be 'in process' because you were not cancelled, and you are 'ok' to get a set, IF there are any sets left when we get to your order.

I was late getting my order in, so I'm hoping for the best, but if I go in process, i'm just wondering if that means i'm in for sure.

In process just means your credit is fine. You are in line with everyone else to get your order according to the time your order was placed.

I had my order in the basket at something like 3:15 (4:15 Eastern), but the website was so slow that I walked away to do some work. When I came back 1 1/2 to 2 hours later, the order page was primed and ready, so I ordered and got a confirmation.

Since orders with lower confirmation numbers are "in process" and mine is not yet "in process", I just called the Mint to see where things stand. Here's what I can say:

    1) Your order number may not reflect your actual position in line to receive a set.

    2) The computer determines the order.

    3) A lower confirmation number may not be any assurance that you will have a higher order priority than someone with a higher confirmation number.

    4) "In process" refers more to credit card status than it refers to any shipping status.

    5) I think that I'm screwed on recieving my order.image

    Very interesting.

My father, whose ordered from The Mint before and knows the drill, is absolutely positive that his order for five sets was confirmed via the confirmation screen at 4:30 eastern. He did not get a confirmation email until 5:30. His order number is in line w/other 5:30 orders. I figured he just got hosed. Your post hives me hope. Very bizarre.

I'm suspecting that after the clean-up of duplicate orders is done, quite a few individual parties will end up with their sets, including orders placed later into the evening (as for early Friday orders, maybe not so much).

And so far, I'm not seeing anything unusal or unfair about the Mint's processing and handling procedures.

Hi boucharda! Well, only time will tell since I placed my order so late. I was not too concerned at first but as the day went on I became more determined. I finally got my order in around 6pm so while keeping my fingers crossed, I am not too optimistic. Unlike everyone here, I am not a coin collector. My father in law has recently given my 2 year old a large safety deposit box containing his old coin collection so I just wanted to be able to add something for my son. Just in case he grows up and decides to follow in his grandfathers foot steps. Worst case scenario for me is that since I have already mentally committed to picking a set up for my son, even if I don't get the mint order I will probably just go in Fleebay to pick one up for him. After all the fuss surrounding these, he might make a penny or two in 20 years LoL

    Thanks for the welcome!

Depends on whether your order number was assigned before or after the 2 hour walkaway would be my guess.

My orders are in process. I am guessing they will not start canceling orders or placing "no longer available" on your orders until all the credit cards have been charged. In process means nothing except your credit card has passed their criteria.

Actually, I suspect they're also sealing and addressing mailing labels...or will be shortly.

I would expect these to start shipping next week (regardless of what date their tracking system states).

Actually, they need to go to the "In Stock and Reserve" phase which I believe is the dump in a box, throw a little shipping paper inside, seal, apply address label and stack.

??? I'd have to have confirmation from someone with connection over someone posting comments to a story.

Perhaps the person wants more than 2 FS eligible coins..... or another label designation to make the set hotter.... and is just weaving tales to accomplish it.
