That is one Nice thing with the spot price so high you can off a few of the bad sets for alittle money with no bad feedback. Quick and easy, my local coin shop told me if I get anymore to drop them off. I Hit 8 out of 9 opted out of dillion gage did anyone get 9 for 9? .314 sets left on Ampex...........

Are you going to get one that's already been graded? Or are you planning to purchase a number from, say Fidelitrade, who has said they will be selling, and pick the best one and sell the rest?

I'd like to get them at the bottom level price---raw. Like with the US Mint, I plan on ordering as soon as possible. These will be more actively traded back and forth, so there won't be the likelihood of getting a "return" if you order them ASAP. Plus, getting them at the earliest possible means less chance for cherrypicking. Maybe my logic makes sense. We will see what happens.

I think the bullion will win in the looks department and be cheaper to collect, but the uncirculateds will be in much higher demand.

Agreed on both accounts. I cannot afford to collect both sets either. I'm leaning toward the bullion issues right now because it means getting coins close to spot and the mintage difference between the 2010s and onward might be more pronounced. But this is without seeing the vapor blast coins and if they look awesome and become the coins "in demand" I might have to change my opinion. What I'm thinking is collecting both sets for the first few years and make my descision later, like what you're saying, coasterfan.

You probably knew that APMEX was selling although you had one of the first sets and it does not matter to you. I think that someone received their Jack Hunt order and had three NGC graded coins and two raw coins. Conspiracy theories abound.

FYI, I ordered an APMEX the first day they went back on sale last week, along with a few additional silver rounds. They said it would ship immediately, but they were only referring to the additional rounds which arrived Saturday. The ATB's have not shipped yet, and will probably arrive in May as they said.
Although for the life of me, I can't imagine why APMEX will take so long to ship them, unless they are just now getting around to submitting them to PCGS. Why they sat on them I have no idea, but it seems with the quantities sold by APMEX that no cherry-picking has ocurred as I believe we can account for the entire allocation around 3600-3700 sets.
Should break the Apmex 200 countdown this evening...looks like I will be the winner...I would like my pennies in airtight holders then placed in individual bubble envelopes and sent out with adult signature required and no possibility of having them left for pick up at the local FedEx.

For certain shipments so designated as some type of secure shipments they take extra precautions. I'm guessing it is an additional security service level they offer.

I ordered my APMEX set on the 15th, got the letter saying I could order on the 16th (yesterday). I got an email today saying to expect shipping on the 20th. They are moving pretty fast if you ask me.

Here are my PCGS grades, I sent in all 15, didn't cherry pick: 3-69's, 9-68's, 2-67's, and one 64. I wish they could have been a little better: Is there any truth to the PCGS Price GuideSM Value or is it to early to tell?
