The quote of the year. This is ALL my kids will listen to. There's something irresistible about hearing a two year old girl scream for 'Johnny Come Lately' and 'Devil's Right Hand' from the backseat of a 2002 Rendezvous.
I've got about 10 from my 83 OPC that I'm considering. They are from boxes that I busted and I subbed the best two from that rip in the first group sub. They both came back 10s.
Now where I pulled a homer was that I forgot all about my 83 OPC in the latest sub and wound up subbing commons from 92 Topps.
However, those 92 Topps commons are blazing sharp!!!!!!
Freshman year in college, spring break at Panama City, MTV live on the beach at LaVela's. My then girlfriend, who did not go with me and my friends. NEVER bring a girlfriend on spring break, I mean NEVER!!! Broke up with me as soon as I got back. It seems that I was not mindful of the TV cameras and accidently got on TV with another young lady. Just so happens that she was watching.

Actually Collect Non Sport, but am just so full of myself I post all over the place !!!!!!!
The first factory set I ripped was better than any rack packs that I ripped (and I ripped quite a few rack packs over the past few months!).
While the second factory set (I'm half way thru it!) is disappointing so far. From what I've heard from fellow Floridian, gator05, who ripped a bunch of sealed 1986 Topps factory sets last summer. Told me they (i.e., '86T BB factory sets) are "where its at!", as his rip, yielded some very nice high end cards!
I guess 1986 cards are inconsistent, no matter if they are wax, rack, cello, vending or factory sets.
I've ripped them all (but vending, and I heard '86T BB vending sucks! LOL!).
So one thing that we all can agree on is 1986 Topps baseball, had inconsistent print runs and inconsistent packaging!
Most 1986 Topps baseball cards are still relatively inexpensive in high grade. (Around $20 for a low pop PSA 10).
One can assume that some unopened cases (i.e., wax, cell, rack, factory, or maybe even vending, nah! not vending! LOL!) may yield a ton of great minty, high end cards, while other cases, only yield a few nice examples.
... Inconsistency is the name ...1896 Topps baseball is the game!

p.s. this post is just another "gumby group sub" bump!
I was given a factory set for my birthday in 85. It did not have a box with any print on it, just a plain box. I remember being upset because it was not in order.
Went through the earlier this year again. You could still see the cut pattern from the factory. I think all I did in 85 was to go through them just enough to find the D Murphy card and pulled it out and placed it into an album. When I went through it again, I placed them all into penny sleeves. Only 5 or 6 were NOT OC.

I know why Dale Murphy never slept, he has nine kids. That has to equal at least 12 years of sleeplessness.
Could you imagine having eight kids and a pregnant wife!
Wow he needs to be in the hall of fame!

Craig,
I'm half-way into the second of four 1986 Topps Factory Sets.
Not too good!
Just too much chipping on the black edges.
Besides, 80% of the cards are OC, as was this Gantner.
Molitor & Yount? (Stay tuned, as they have not been pulled yet!)
This '86 Gantner, as with many other commons within this series, is proving to be pretty tough, in high-end minty, gradeable condition!
But I'm "still a tryin' to find something for ya"!

Rack packs are the way to go for 86 minty cards.
Factory sets are probably the worst way to go.
