Next up a 2008 Allen & Ginter box. I got this for $80 from my local card shop. A little pricey but I wanted something modern to open (bought at the same time as the 2008 Goudey box ripped earlier).

I plan to open the 2 remaining 1979 Topps Hockey packs this week. Not sure when I will do the 3 1986 Fleer basketball packs or Heritage run yet. I do have a GAI 9 1975 Topps mini pack on the way but there are several PSA 9 HOF RCs on ebay ending this week that I will be bidding on so any new unopened material probably won't be purchased until after the Super Bowl.

If you pull a Frank Thomas printing plate, you've got a buyer in me! It's a long shot, but I just want to throw some A&G mojo out there. Good luck.

Hey, I just ripped an A&G today too! Found mine for $69 at a local card show (Canton, Ohio). I just couldn't resist! Nothing spectacular. The highlights were: Dunn, Sexson, and Thome jerseys; Orlando Hudson Auto, and a Clay Buchholz Mini NNO. I hope you have better luck!

Nothing really of note. What are the short prints in A&G?

Thanks for the info on the SPs! Anyone interested in the full sized base commons? I have a couple boxes worth, from previous rips. First 4 people to PM me will be sent what I have.

Man, I remember going to Pacific Trading Cards here in the Seattle area and they had pallets of those returned 84 Topps Football. $5 a box! Think I bought a few. I also had 3 of those 87-88 Fleer Wax boxes. Sold one, traded one and ripped one. The one I ripped had 8 Jordans (counting stickers).

Snowed in so have been working from home today. Going to rip a 2005 Topps Heritage box. I bought the box on ebay for $109.95. Not the best deal ever but fair compared to what D&A was selling them for ($122). If I were more patient I probably could have gotten one for a little cheaper at auction. Not sure about the SPs in this set but hoping to pull an auto.

Sadly no auto. I pulled 4 chrome cards and a Don Larsen flashback authentic stadium seat. Of the chromes the Kerry Wood is 001/556, Butler is 1414/1956, Beckett is 0091/1956 and Jones is 0909/1956. No ideas on SPs.

non-heritage guys would look at that rip and wonder why we would pay 75 bucks a box, not to mention 109 (and 122 at D&A!). Thanks for the rip!

Grades popped for some of my recent rips. I will post here and then go and update the posts with the photos to add grades. I asked for no qualifiers for the grades.
I have another sub in under the January special, that includes the 71s, received 1/12 that has yet to pop. This is my 2nd sub to pop with Jan special and basically the more similar the cards in the sub the faster the turnaround time.

Grades were about what I expected for the most part. Thought the Olajuwon stickers were going to get 9s. I think the Worthy and Checklist were downgraded due to centering. Overall happy with the results, my last couple 86 Fleer basketball subs had no 10s so it is nice to see that change. Also no EOT which might be the first time in over 10 subs.

    Nice grades, Robb

GEM MINT 10 1986 FLEER 35 WORLD B. FREE ...is this card of him whem he was with the GS Warriors (or was that a few years earlier)?

He gave me a pair of his wristbands when he was a Warrior... I have no idea what happened to them.

World B Free is in a Cavs uniform.

Since the last pack of 86 Fleer basketball from BBCE was so well centered I will open another one as well as the two remaining 79 Topps Hockey. Hopefully I will get somthing worth sending into PSA on the last day of the January special. The 1986 Fleer basketball pack was $270 and the 1979 Topps hockey were $54 each.

The Ewing sticker and Pressey look good but the centering for this pack doesn't look as nice as the last one.

I will be sending the Ewing sticker, Pressey and Tisdale off to be graded. Unfortunately it doesn't look like I have enough cards to send one last January CC special sub out.
My girlfriend is out of town for the weekend so I will be ripping some of the other unopened boxes and packs prior to the super bowl.

For bigwilli I will now rip a 1975 Topps Mini pack graded GAI 9. Got the pack for $34.66 of ebay. I've bought some of the sellers 86 fleer packs and they have all been legit so that hopefully bodes well for this mini pack.

Well since it is basically February I ordered some new stuff. On the way from my friends at BBCE are a 2001 Topps Heritage box (this will be added to my unopened box collection), a 1962 Topps football wax pack graded PSA 7 (Mike Dikta and Fran Tarkenton rookie possibilities), two hobby boxes of 2005/06 Upper Deck hockey series two (Ovechkin rookie) and 3 packs of 1979 Topps hockey (I have a good feeling about these!).

I've bought some PSA 9 HOF RCs recently and have my eyes on a couple others so my unopened budget is not as robust in Feb as Jan. I am going to have to do a better job of spacing things out if I want to keep this thread alive.

I have some modern stuff I will rip this weekend including a 2007 Goudey box, 2007 Topps Football Co-Signors and 2007 Bowman Chrome.
