A few 71s for my collection...

This card brings me to a nice resting spot for the Gaylord Perry basic set. Now the only 7 in my Perry set is his rookie card, but that one tends to be kinda pricey. One of these days.

I usually don't like qualifiers, but I thought this card had great eye appeal. The color is great and the corners are sharp.
I screwed the link up, see below...thanks Jim!

    hofautos,

Great looking auto!!!!! Forget the card itself, its the auto that counts if you ask me, and that auto sure looks sweet! image

I wish I could find PSA 5 and so on, this way it would cost me much cheaper to buy them image I loke the auto on the card, not the card grade.

    Giovanni

Edited to add: If your doing the vintage thing than the grade counts, but not with certified autos IMO. By the way, with vintage cards, I like the in PSA 6's and under, I just love to see the history in the card, not a perfect card, or else I would buy a vinateg reprint card if I wanted mint, lol.

Not worth much but something you don't see every day image

This is a signed dinner menu from the union pacific train taking the east all stars to the 1938 shrine game in san francisco. Only one hall of famer signed it but it's signed by 3 future green bay packers draft picks including future star QB cecil isbell and 3 members of the "7 blocks of granite".

    Chris,
This card isnt even tough in a PSA 6,The reason I think it goes for above smr is because it has an 8 for
the registry weight(It's rare in grades 8 or above) The set registry bases a cards weight by how tough
a particular card is in a PSA 8.

Thanks Bob, I knew you could appreciate this card. image

Got this 63 Ed Mathews today. Card is a lot nicer looking than a 4 IMHO.

DR J, that is very nice for a 4. I love the 63's, they'll be cool for the Heritage in 4 years.

Thanks to board member Wondo, I knocked a few more 56's off my list. Down to needing only 13 more stars to complete the "graded" portion of the set. Also about 1/2 way finished with the raw commons. Not in hand yet, but I don't have a scanner so I'll steal Wondo's scansimage

A new one for my HOF collection. I chose this card for Sutter mostly due to the prominently featured facial hair.

    Nice card.

One question, though.. Are those sticker autos?

edited: Nevermind, I saw that they are stickers.

Still a cool card but could have been much cooler if they were on card autos.

So basically my kid won't be able to go to college, but at least I'll have a set where the three most expensive cards are of a player I despise ~ CDsNuts

Here's stuff over the past few days....

Blue border is numbered out of 500 and the black isn't numbered. Only paid $9 delivered for the both of them.

    Gotta love 90s inserts!!!!!
    image

The 08 Smoltz in the top right is a refractor. The rest are base chromes. I'm trying to do the team sets from each year.
    image

Smoltz/Chipper #'d out of 299, The Chipp in the top right is #'d out of 40 and beautiful. The blue ref. of CC is #'d out of 399 and the other is just a basic ref. of CC.

FINALLY picked one up. I've been out bid at the last second at least 5 times before this.

collecting RAW Topps baseball cards 1952 Highs to 1972. looking for collector grade (somewhere between psa 4-7 condition). let me know what you have, I'll take it, I want to finish sets, I must have something you can use for trade.

looking for Topps 71-72 hi's-62-53-54-55-59, I have these sets started

It would be nice if the Astros would retire his number. He is still in the top 5 for many team pitching records. He won almost 90 games in 4 1/2 years he could have been great if not for the stroke. I met him a few times and he seems like a real nice guy. I am still on my quest to get all his cards in PSA 10, I have 14 so far.

    Thanks
