8irvin8 has some really nice J.R. cards. I think he and I are the only people collecting Richard. I can't wait for the set to hit the registry. (so I can be a distant second)

Bingo, 1951 Topps Magic Vic Janowicz is the last card I need from his playing days. There's a PSA 6 up on ebay right now that I may take a run at. I think it's known as the toughest card from that set. He's also pictured on and error card from 1973. I think it's the 1973 Topps 53 Reprints card of Clyde McCullough (Picture is Janowicz) Some of those cards are not easy. The 53 baseball is an SP, and the 1956 topps Football is a SP.

So for poops and grins, I decided to send out a couple 'Stros TMM requests via Spring Training.
Wrote a personal note, asked if they wouldn't mind signing the enclosed index card, and return in the prepaid SASE.
After a couple of weeks, I lost hope and figured it was a couple of bucks down the drain. No biggie...
That is until today.
Brad was kind enough to sign this random UD card and even included the index card, which remained blank.
So basically my kid won't be able to go to college, but at least I'll have a set where the three most expensive cards are of a player I despise ~ CDsNuts
<< <i>Raw stuff in today: Wilson Franks Jablonski and Vintage picture of Kid Elberfeld - look familiar?
>>
Wow, I LOVE the Elberfeld picture! I'd never seen that before! You can just picture the artist working with this pic and brushing on the Washington uni right over it - awesome!
Another nice addition to my MVP rookie set... Ken Boyer - 1964 NL MVP The centering is the only thing keeping this away from being an 8. Rich color, sharp corners, and a sweet rought cut. The t/b centering doesn't impact eye-appeal for me.
Thanks for the kind words Mike and Snorto. I've been out of cards for a couple of years, and was losing my passion until I saw that Mantle last week on eBay and had to have it
Been spending too much money lately.....here are some of today's highlights (meaning the cards I have taken the time to scan right now)....
Clear Skies, Mark
Collecting PSA graded Steve Young, Marcus Allen, Bret Saberhagen and 1980s Topps Cards. Raw: Tony Gonzalez (low #'d cards, and especially 1/1's) and Steve Young.
As I mentioned earlier, I sent a bunch of TTM requests to the 'Stros spring training and had practically given up.
I've got a new project brewing up and hopefully (or is that regrettably?) will start a thread about it in the coming weeks.

Here are 6 of the 7 cards that were made of former Heisman Trophy winner Vic Janowicz. I'm only missing 1 card. Anyone know which one??

That Mantle is awesome even to a diehard football collector such as myself. Great pickup!
Snorto~
Very nice Mantle auto!!! I would like that one and the T3 style PS auto card.
Barry - it sounds like you just put an index card in there and instead he supplied the card? That was really cool - if so.
Thanx for sharing
