Andres Galarraga: The Big Cat! Owner of the nicest smile in baseball. A cancer survivor too, which probably put more substance behind that smile. 2 time winner of TSN's Comeback Player of the Year award (93, 00).
John Franco: #4 on the all time Saves list with 424 (behind Hoffman, Lee, and Rivera). Also 2 time winner of the Rolaids Relief Pitcher of the Year Award (88, 90), and 3 time winner of TSN Reliever of the Year Award (88, 90, 94).
Ruben Sierra: when I was a kid, this was his key rookie. A great start as a power hitting base stealer, but that didn't quite last.
George Bell - 1987 AL MVP An upgrade to the PSA 9 Topps rookie I had of him. Since he won the MVP for a Canadian team, why not use the Canadian card?
Some more to add to the master set I'm working on. I will have 21 more in about a week. A seller listed a lot of cards that I needed that ended yesterday and today all #'d/200 which are hard to come by. 2000 Collectors Edge Supreme Shaun Alexander Hologold #'d/20
2000 Collectors Edge Supreme Pro Sig Authentics Darnell McDonald #'d/10. This is the only one I've ever seen.

Wow Randy - right around that time we were patrolling on these rather flimsy "whalers" - the "Mike" boats we had were much safer at 75' and metal to hide behind. Night time was especially spooky!
and the "mike" boat - LCM8:
Did ya ever get so much fire - ya weren't sure who was shooting at who?
Nothing like a trip down memory lane. Desert Storm was a walk in the park next to Nam! mike
The 48B set has some of the coolest shots - those helmets are priceless! Do you have a helmet from that era? I know guys who collect that old equipment.
A substantial purchase regarding the master set I'm working on. 21 cards bought from the same seller. They had up for auction 50 cards but I just couldn't afford all of them. 2000 Collectors Edge Supreme Hologold Parallels All #'d/200
Rolled back into town to find bubble mailers galore with the highlights being a couple additions to my decently centered 1955 TAA set, including one of the big names, and a Joe "The Jet" Perry HOFer RC for my 1950 Bowman set.
If nothing else, hopefully my post will fix this thread with a page turn...
i don't think anything beats good looking 55 all americans, what a great set

Mike, I have a full size replica leather helmet autographed by Sammy Baugh....but I would love an original. I have looked before, but the prices have scared me away.
Working on these raw sets: 54 & 55 Bowman 55, 56, 58, & 60 Topps. Have lots of cards, including some PSAs, 53-58 to trade. Also, have Football 55-57 to trade for BB cards.
oops..meant to add this one instead of the Cobb twice....

The Say Hey Kid puts me at 90% complete for this set. I will post a better picture than this ebay pic once it is in hand. Damn centering on these hi-numbers....I dont think I did too bad on this one. I almost pulled the trigger on a very OC one a couple of weeks ago. Glad I held out.
I have always really enjoyed oddball stuff and Sweetness is one of the players I collect, so I was incredibly stoked to receive this in the mail today!
A wide shot, with a standard sized card to show size:
A close up of the sig:
And the back of the mini-ball... clearly a promotional item and the first of these (even unsigned) that I have seen offered in years:
I will try to post more of today's loot this weekend. Have a great week everyone and keep the scans coming.
Collecting PSA graded Steve Young, Marcus Allen, Bret Saberhagen and 1980s Topps Cards. Raw: Tony Gonzalez (low #'d cards, and especially 1/1's) and Steve Young.
So basically my kid won't be able to go to college, but at least I'll have a set where the three most expensive cards are of a player I despise ~ CDsNuts
