Just wanted to hit 1000. Because of this my groceries should now be cheaper at Safeway.

If anyone has any 72 PSA 8's that they are looking to move send me a PM. I am looking for bulk lots of at least 50 cards.

    Arny,

I too agree that the Reed has a decent shot at an 8. Its well worth submitting during the Registry $5 Special.

As far as the S&H sidebar from a few days back - I have my slabbed card S&H set up for $1.75 for the 1st card and $.40 for each additional. So, 11 cards would work out to $5.75 and I'd probably be able to slap a Delivery Confirmation on at no charge if insurance wasn't selected and still make a few cents over the cost of postage and supplies.

The Pena has excpeptional centering for that card .

I'm finishing up an offline deal that should catapult my set to a whopping 30 % once I add all the cards I received this week ......

I am buying psa 8's and 9's, I would prefer to buy in large lots but will consider smaller deals.

    LSMick,

30% of the set? Not too shabby considerin' this set has nearly 800 cards!

Congrats on that deal. By the way, take a peek at my eBay store as I have a few 9s. I'll make you a good deal if you'd like. I've got a couple more to add soon.

    Thanks Arny.
I'm not so concerned with the random 9's at this point. My plan is to be aggressive for the tough 8's , nice stars and only select 9's. In all other regards I don't plan to stray from a VERY conservative bid pattern.

I have a large submission of 72's on tap but I may thin it out a little, especially all the borderline psa 8 quality cards. It may be more cost effective to wait and pick up already slabbed copies on the cheap rather than take a chance on getting a bunch of 7's.

I know what you mean LSMick. I've been very close to submitting many cards in the past, but shy away due to the fact that 7s or 8s of certain cards would not be cost effective.

Hello to everyone. After about a year long hiatus from collecting, I'm going to start over on this monster. I know it will be a long road but I'm not stopping this time until I'm done. I see many of you have made great progress in the past year. Congrats to all. I have about $200 in paypal to spend. The only three cards I have left from my first attempt are #90,317,and 516 so I'm basically starting from scratch. Anybody got a nice lot of 8's and/or 9's they'll send my way for $200? Thanks--Jason

I sent in these 3 last week plus a few low pop. 1970 and 1972 football cards:

    #322 - Jose Pena
    #385 - Mickey Stanley
    #443 - Ken Henderson

Will let ya know the results when they are posted. Stanley and Pena s/b sure 8's unless I missed something. The Henderson will be a nail biter.

Thanks to Dave for hooking me up with a nice 30 card lot. Now I need to get on the ball and get a submission out before the end of the month. I have about two dozen super sharp '72 that have been collecting dust for quite a while including a Foli IA, Drabowsky, Barton IA, Johnson IA, Bench IA, and Gardner that should all be surefire 8s. Maybe a 9 on the Gardner and Drabowsky. I'll let you guys know how I come out.

I put in a bid on this 1972 Nolan Ryan PSA 9.............................

Now I have received a second chance offer to buy it...............I am skeptical as I didn't even have the second highest bid.

Offer him 330.00, since that's what you probably should have it for. Once you get the card report him as a suspected shiller. This way everyone wins....... image

The high bidder has won quite a few items recently, including several from this seller. If he's not paying, why no negative feedback?

He won one from SpikeMax, who's on here a lot. I'd check with him.

Wow, that T.Harmon PSA 9 that Scott is selling is already above $100! Looks like Larry will end up with that one.

David's Norm Cash is sitting at almost $80 already and the Grote is at $60. Sheesh...no breaks for the little guys. image

Hopefully no one else needs that Stanley!

I was kind of hoping the Harmon would go under the radar. 100 bucks for that card in PSA 9 is probably still a bargain but more than I'm willing to pay at this point.

It certainly is good idea to nail down the tough ones when you can, especially with most everything else being relatively cheap.
What's interesting is that both the "combatants" already own one copy of the card (s).

I think Bill Novick wants to prove he can put together two sets before some us can put together one set................................but my question would be to him ...."but at what cost????"

Horton has also started and listed a second set.

That Singleton is much tougher than people realize. It folled me. It was one of the last cards I found for my set. The Virdon was super tough for me as well.

Hey, guys. I just made a boo-boo on my submission and was wondering if anyone could help me. The special was for 1964 to present. But as I tried to fill the 25 card minimum, I threw in four pre-64 cards on accident. A '58, a couple of 60s, and a 61. All commons. Has anyone ever done this before and if so what did you have to do to fix it? Thanks for the help.

Sorry Jason, can't help you with that one. Maybe someone else can later today.

As far as the '72s go....that Tim Foli IA PSA 8 is already sitting at $200!
I put in a bid of $100 and sat as the high bidder for a smidgen of a moment it seems. Geez, I spent less on my Aaron IA PSA 8.

The Foli IA surprised me too ! Seems like a Met collector is driving that one, along with a couple of others.

Even if I get shut out on the tough ones this week history would dictate that more will come . Especially, since the crazy prices would be an incentive for more submissions.

It appears that in addition to some guys building 2nd sets, one of them is playing the ol' keep away game.
