I have updated my trade page -- I have lots of 2006 Heritage to trade. Base, chrome, inserts, etc. I am looking for Topps commons from 1952-1969 in EX condition or better.

I apologize for the following message since this is probably not the place for it but you guys have been so helpful with trading that I thought you would be helpful in fixing my problem: IF ANYONE CAN HELP ME FIX MY PROFILE, I WOULD APPRECIATE IT!!!!!! The link for my email is messed up and every time I click on profile (next to the customize button above) I immediately get the following message:

Just opened my third blaster box and am about to give up on buying more.

Two packs had no inserts, and only three short prints, all of which I already have of course. How I can need 40 short prints and continually pull the same ones is beyond me. Of course, not a sight of a black refractor or any ink, but that goes along with my other two blaster boxes and four hobby boxes. Just not my year for any lucky pulls I guess.

Anyway, I've gotten tremendous help with some trades so far, and wanted to give it one more try before selling the few doubles I have on eBay.

    Here's what's available if you're willing to trade, I'm looking for SP's.

    SP's: 342, and 346.
    Chromes: 29, 41, 65, and 98.
    Refractors: 77, 90, 98, and 104.
Shin-Soo Choo Clubhouse Collection game used bat.

Anyone wanting to trade for short prints, even a card or two at a time, LMK soon.

    thanks guys, shawn.

edited to say: I've also got a few NAP's and T&N's if anyone needs them. I'm also missing 163 and 256 from the base set.

Just in case anyone is working on the black refractors, mine ends on ebay at about 11pm EST on Sunday. It is super cheap right now. If someone scores a good deal on it, I would prefer it be someone here.

Its funny, the regular topps black sell for crazy amounts, especially the Angles. If that was a topps card numbered to 57 you would
probably be able to get 150 for it. Crazy

When putting the 06 set together, are any of you concerned about the Gordon card, or just leave a blank "pocket" in the notebook. I personally have a hard time in justifying the price for the card. It will be interesting how Beckett handles this. By not having the card, does this make the set incomplete? Craig in Ohio

nova, I have been wondering about that too. I have not been able to justify the price either, thus, have not pulled the trigger. Also, the checklists have the Gordon listed under the chromes. No sightings of a cut out chrome Gordon though ...

I was a little upset last night when I went looking for the Gordon on Ebay. I usually look at the completed auctions to see if they've dropped any. I was extremely frustrated to see this Gordon cut-out
Especially, when I'm viewing that auction literally two minutes after somebody hit the buy it now.

I almost hit a BIN for 55 a few weeks ago. That was the higest to date, but I had a feeling that they would go higher. Heck I have spent
much more on dead end retail boxes. #255 will be an open spot for me. Im hoping to pull one, as I really think 100+ is too much.

Well I'm done buying boxes and for the most part I was very pleased with my busts: 3 hobby boxes, 1 retail 12x2 box and 6 blaster boxes. In the three hobby boxes I pulled 2 Team Topps autos (Piersall and Leyritz), a CC bat card of Derrek Lee and a CC jersey card of Eric Gagne. But the first blaster box (bought at Target) was the best. In the first pack this was waiting:

    image

But the big thrill was lurking three packs later:

    image

The first red auto I've pulled.

The only bummer I've experienced in opening the packs was a disconcerting tendency of some boxes to have the same run of SPs: for example of the 76 short-prints I pulled, I got 4 Mark Grudzielaneks (#314), 4 Nelson Cruz (#301), 3 Garett Atkins (#277), 3 Felix Hernandez (#285), 3 Jimmy Rollins (#326) and 3 Blue Letter Derek Jeters (#23). I don't mind a double in the SPs because they're excellent trade-bait for cards I need, but I think it may be tough to move quads and triples! If anyone needs one of these SPs, just email me at akramer@utk.edu -- I still need more than half the SPs and 85% of the chromes. I'll be posting a more formal "want list" and "for trade list" later.

Ryan and I have talked abuot this before. There are DP's in the short print list. Gruz...is one of them. It also appears that ceftain
cards are really short printed like the two multi player cards. I have pulled 8 David Ortiz's and only one Astros card. The Bonds
and Pujols are hard pulls too

Kevin - not sure how much stock I put in the DP argument. I've pulled at least 7 or 8 of the Astros card, but only 2 of the Ortiz. I will agree on the Bonds and Pujols - think I've pulled 3 of each of those. Grudzafdajiaietu I think I've only pulled two or three of. Regionally seeded maybe?

I will say that when I busted my two cases, I pulled quints of seven different players (off the top of my head - Damon, Lieber, Stairs, Jack Wilson, Rodrigo Lopez, Conor Jackson - forget the other guy), and quads of many more. Was still about 20 cards short of a master set after two cases. Last year I bought a single case and was only 17 short after busting it. Needless to say, I was pretty upset about that. Called Topps - the rep there offered to do some switching out if I wanted to send them in, but I was able to use every one of them in trades. All in all, I think the most likely culprit is absolutely HORRIBLE collation on Topps' part.

I have the Gordon but am still deciding if I want to sell it or not. I am viewing this set the same way as the 2000 Ultra football set with the Arrington SP that was pulled but still was still on the market and selling in the hundreds.

Hey all. Just joined! Don't know why I didn't do this earlier. I like just reading all your posts. So are both CL variations required for a master set? What were the CL variations last year? I have read that there have been some but haven't noticed on the ones I have.

I finally cracked and bought some 2006 heritage. Went with the blaster boxes. Got 10 for $162 delivered. Pretty good deal I thought. Last year I waited and was able to buy loose packs at about $1.65 a pack. Going to be very patient again this year due to higher print run. Can't wait for my first taste of this year's.

All five checklists have variations. I wouldn't think that you would need all CL variations to call it a master set, but there are some here that are fanatical that way (myself included) that have to have them all. Here are the differences:

    Checklist 1:
Hobby: #78 Ryan Garko has RC designation
Retail: #78 Ryan Garko missing RC designation

    Checklist 2:
Hobby: #186 Bobby Crosby has a check box
Retail: #186 Bobby Crosby is missing the check box

    Checklist 3:
Hobby: #394 Rich Hill has RC designation
Retail: #394 Rich Hill missing RC designation

    Checklist 4:
Hobby: back lower left - Ron Negra
Retail: back lower left - Ron Negray

    Checklist 5:
Hobby: First column ends with Roberts, 2nd column ends with Cabrera, 4th column ends with Ford - column differences carry over to the back. Cut sigs & relics are present.
Retail: First column ends with Robinson, 2nd column ends with Ensberg, 4th column ends with Banks - column differences carry over to the back. Cut sigs & relics missing.

short prints, yet I still need 26 more to get a second set..this sucks! If anyone is interested in swaping, LMK

Do you think that Gordon will hold stable, come down, or go up? I think it will pry stay in the range it is at right now. I'm sure there are enough people that will want it for their master set that demand will keep the price up.

Any word on 2005 Heritage CL variations if any?

I bought 4 retail boxes at toys r us here..these boxes had a different feel and look to them..the wrapping was very lose and when you
opened the box at the bottom there was packing material, unlike the wal mart and target boxes. first pack I opened had a banks seat
card in it. Here are the totals for those scoring at home:

    16 sp's
4 chromes (one of them stamped on the back "refractor)
    Chavez Jersey
    Banks Seat
2 each NAP, Flash, and NT

    Thanks

Following Kevin's lead, I stopped at TRU. No dice. There was a Target on the way back to the office. I grabbed two blaster boxes. The first pack contained this.

    From two boxes I got
    9 SPs
    2 FBs
    2 Chromes
    1 NAP
    1 Black Refractor

Anyone pull the cut sigs yet? I have not seen anything, nor have I really been looking for it either.

I was wondering if the cut sigs were pulled yet either, no reason to buy hobby after that.

I guess the uncut Gordon Rc does not exist, I guess I'll have to wait until one comes out of the Topps Vault.
Whoever said we wash away with the rain ?

Has anyone seen hobby boxes under 80 bucks now? I wonder if ripping has slowed down some, as box prices are going
through the roof. Maybe people are going the retail route, cause you can't get screwed (by the seller).

Ive given up on the Gordon, unless I pull one. I might just take one of my 50 David Ortiz cards and cut it out, no one will know the diff.

There really is no reason to buy hobby other than the chance at one of only TWO cut signature cards. I can not imagine the price of hobby boxes going up any higher right now because a lot of dealers around here can't move them at $75-$80 since people can buy the same thing at Wal-Mart, Target, etc. for $72.

The only reason I have kept my Gordon cutout is because on the back of the card you can clearly see the #255 and it really doesn't look too bad in a notebook.
