Found heritage at Walmart today 1 partial retail box. I asked if they had any in back, the answer was that a vendor stocks that particular shelf once a week so that's it for now. I did of course buy the partial, hopefully a pack feeler didn't get his hands on it first.

Paladin, #ed to 557 are refractors, check them out when you turn them from side to side in your hand, those #ed to 1957 are chromes. It doesn't look like a bad case to me at all. I have 4 more boxes coming so more trade material when I get those.

Just opened two of my four boxes and didn't get much. A few SPs, Mantle/Giambi, 6 chromes, 1 refractor, Soriano bat, Mantle/Banks/Berra/Musial flashbacks, Pedro/Sheff/C.Lee performers and no autos.

I'm wondering if I should even open my two others boxes or just sell them off and buy a full set off of eBay.

Well, cards 1-300 are in my binder now including the Sp's I have. Tomorrow, softparade is going on a major retail hunt.

I decided to go try to find some retail and found one of the 8 pack retail boxes at Walmart. They had some loose packs as well but I decided to just pick up the box for now. I haven't looked through the cards yet for the SP's, but I got the following inserts:

    FB - Ernie Banks
    NAP - Manny Ramirez

    And.....

Real One Autograph - Jack Dittmer

I'm going to have to keep a watch on the local Walmarts/Targets now!

While putting my base set into my binder I was a bit dismayed to be missing #255 until I realized it was Alex Gordon image

Also, the one thing I am VERY happy about my case is that the centering of ALL the cards through out the case has been PERFECT !!!!! I am now done with cards 1-360 with Sp's in the binder and have just 2 cards that I would want to upgrade the centering. My favorite cards are the ones with real deep dark greens and blues. Very sharp !!!

I found the centering to be great too, many of the cards really standout......some of my favorites are where you have a red pinstripe (Phillies, say) kneeling with the background all rich green grass. Very nice set and faithful to the original.

Congrats on the Dittmar auto .

That Soriano bat card isn't bad Arny, you wouldn't get anything like that buying a set off ebay.

Actually Mage those pulls were on a 4 box break, couldn't quite afford the case at the time.
Has anyone tried the rack cases yet?

Hey guys. I only bought one box of Heritage - real short on $ but I had to see what they looked like. image What I really need though is a Robinson Cano. I have a friend from work who is taking her 8 year-old to Florida to visit the spring training camps and get some autos. Since I've given her quite a few cards for her son, she asked if I would like to have them get an auto for me. She said she is visiting the Red Sox, Orioles and Yankees. So I decided to try for a Robinson Cano auto and I think it would look great on a Topps Heritage.

Anyone have one they'd like to trade? What would you want in return? PM me if interested. Thanks!

Okay, this is not important, but what are you binder guys doing when you get to #255??

Any of you pull it? You plan on getting the Gordon card and leave space for it? Am I going to be needing
this card to have a set??

Just curious, I'm at #250 in my binder and need the majority opinion.

Edited to say: I can't believe there is no griffey jr in this set, but there is a sammy sosa.

I think the price for a die cut Gordon RC is pretty good right now especially, if Topps added a bunch to the early cases to create a buzz.

Nothing spectacular in my 7 blaster boxes. A handful of SP's I needed, Robinson Cano bat card (nice), Al Kaline seat card, 4 refractors, 4 chromes and thats about it. No autos this year for me thus far. I don't think I will be buying much more as my master set is nearing completion. I am working on the chromes too but I won't be buying retail for them.

In one of the earlier checklists, Jason Bay #76 had a regular production and a short print listed. There really isn't a regular #76 is there? I don't want to have to move 400 cards one place to the right.

Also, no blaster boxes in the greater Pittsburgh North Hills today. I'll check a bout half a dozen stores on Monday.

If I'm not mistaken, the retail pack "openings" posted on this thread involve the "2 rows of 12 packs" boxes.

Has anyone opened / seen any of the "3 rows of 8 packs" boxes, and if so, how did it go?

So far, every Target in my area has the picked over retail packs, but the blaster boxes have either been sold or did not arrive yet.

A new Target just opened in my area, and we received a $5 off any $25 purchase. I bought 9 packs from an obviously searched box. I haven't even checked for SPs yet, but in the 9 packs I received 2 chromes numbered to 1957 and one of the chromes numbered to 557. I also received on card that was in PSA 1 condition (heavily creased), and interestingly, it was the 2nd card in the pack.

Well, toured two Targets and two Wal Marts in the local area. No blasters. One Target and Wal Mart (same town just north of me) had heavily searched 2X12s. Target and Wal Mart in my town had zippola - no Heritage of any kind.

I was out running some errands and hit the local SHOPKO. Bought 3 blaster boxes and 2 packs (the infamous pack #14 ) from two seperate retail boxes. Hit Sp Soriano and SP Sheets in the two retail packs. Will add the results of blaster boxes soon.

OK, I found a bunch of blaster boxes at Target but somehow it just didn't seem like the right day for it. Plus, I had to go buy a weed wacker and saw and various other implements of yard destruction. I may just go the complete-set route this year, fun as that is. But I'll be ready to go with the '58s.

Anyway, I never did complete the 2001 Heritage set, so that's my goal for right now. If you've got some of the last dozen I need (I do need about half the blackbacks but they're among my lowest priorities) I've got some stuff you might need.

    I need:

    357 R. Martinez
    358 Alfonzo
    374 Nixon
    385 Helling
    388 Sprague
    393 Clayton

    2001 Topps Heritage Chrome

Awhile back, there were rumblings that there might exist something similar to last year's 'white back' subset. Over the wkd., I was sorting three blaster boxes, and there were a small number of cards whose backs were much darker and more vivid than the rest. Seven cards in all (142, 170, 204, 234, 256, 428, 443). Don't know if this is just standard printing variation or a Topps variation. Anyone else encounter these?

If someone can tell me how to imbed a jpg, I can show an example.

  • Options
Someone mentioned that and i have noticed it too, i'm wondering if the "variation" is significant enough to be recognized.
Whoever said we wash away with the rain ?
