I've purchased some '72s from 707sportscards. Some prices were way outta whack in comparison with the current market, but others were right on the money. I picked those up that were on the money

The Ryan was actually a surprise pickup to me as well! I expected the reserve to be at $2K. So, I put in a modest $1752 bid and low and behold - the reserve was $1749!!!

And Jami - it will raise me .006 in GPA.

It has now officially a real booger to move up .01...

Saturday night is always a good night for deals on EBAY....I picked up a card I needed for my set #85 NL batting leaders for less then $7.50 and a PSA 9 upgrade for $9.99.........both from the same seller so i save on S/H......

....Ya gotta love it!!

Do we have a new player in the 72 set? I have noticed that Mickey's Sportscards has been buying ALOT of PSA 9s. Today he bought about 20 or more from 4SC on EBAY. I was able to snag one card from him which I needed for my set #395 Matty Alou.

I am on the west coast in Cape Coral/Ft Myers and luckily for me the storm went a little more south than originally predicted. Some trees knocked down and many lost power but not too much damage around Cape Coral. Thank goodness we are almsot done with this hurricane season.

Yes, I'm up and running once again. I saw your company's bidg. on T.V. where it showed that it was hit very hard by Wilma. My family and I are ok with very minor damage to the house and for all of you cards collectors all of my PSA 9's made it ok as well. Andy, Thanks for the kind words. I am glad to hear that you and your family are doing well. I am told that my home (and card collection) are ok. As you saw, my firm's offices were very hard hit. I have not been able to confirm, but from the picture it looks like my office was completely destroyed. Our assistants are instructed to remove all important items from the exterior offices in preparation for storms. I am hoping that my assistant followed the instructions. Otherwise, I will have lost sentimental photos and other possessions. In the end I am just happy that my friends and family are ok.

I understand that millions are still without power so I assume that is what happened to Arny.

My company sent 110 electrical workers from Louisiana to Florida to help with restoring the power. Those boys have been working everyday since Katrina.

I've lost power and phones for nearly a week now and that's not all. I've also lost portions of my wooden fences, tiles from the top of my home and trees down. Fortunately, everything that can be repaired though! My family and I are safe and sound.

I traveled to my parent's home to get online here and try and get online. But, I still don't have power and no estimated time other than the "should be soon" comment that I keep getting

I can't help but notice that the last week or so has shown alot of 72 cards on ebay......mostly thanks to 4SC....They seem to have an unending supply of recently graded cards.

My set will be approaching 96% when my recent wins arrive.

The supply of 9s lately has been unreal - when one dealer has 100 or more 9s at a time, it makes even a cheapskate like me look at buying some 9s.

4SC is stuck selling some stuff below the grading fees but items like this surely pay for a lot of mistake cards. As we know it's brutal trying to find that Schaal card centered.
I once stumbled on a card store in the sticks that had a monster box of 72' raw. At the time the only card I knew to be rare (always a high profile tough card) was the Schaal IA. I found 18-20 of them in the box all beautiful. Every one of them OC 80/20 or worse. All the same side short.
More nice one's have surfaced since, of course, but the hammer on this card is surely impressive!

Like you say........the Schaal IA card PSA 9 or better will probably ALWAYS be a low pop card.

I don't believe that he's stopped collecting the 72 set. Yes - he took it off the registry, but none of his PSA 10's ever hit eBay. I can tell you that for certain.

I put my mostly Raw Set up for sale again..............This time it sold in a little over 24 hours........ I guess I lowered the Buy It Now too much. (from $1500 to $1250)

The high bid I got last time was $850....................

....just happy to get it sold at a half-way decent price......

I finally cracked the top 5 with the cards I bought from DSL tonight. Down to about 20 cards for the set. This has been a fun ride. I have tons of graded 72s to trade if anyone has cards that I need. I am looking for PSA 8s or 9s to finish my set. If I have an 8 and you have a 9 I'd be interested in the upgrade.
