    njmh,

Those are the '64T Giants, right?! Man, I've enjoyed those from afar since they were issued. I've bid on some choice raw ones a couple times but always got outbid. I'm going to have score some of those soon just to see them up-close and in person! The Killebrew and Oliva are two of my favorites.

    Nice cards!!

Bought this a few years back. I think I paid $200 or something like that. This is one of my favorite pieces.

Yes, I do own some other memorabilia and cards beside my Yankee Master Collections, 1970 Topps Baseball set, and my Spam Itinerary. LOL

Thanks, Hoof. Yes, 1964 Topps Giants. The Killebrew and Oliva are VERY sharp! Great photography in this set.

Man, waiting for an invoice of about 35 cards is just killing me. They've been at PSA just over a month. In the interim, this is all the USPS brought me this week:

Nothing too exciting, but I like the color and image quality.

Nice cards, guys. I haven't had much time this week to browse, but I love looking on this thread to see what gets posted. Mike, that was from the 31 Churchmen set. I like the artwork on the cards. This is from the same year.

Speaking of which, the art on those T-3s is the best in hobby, IMO. It's fun looking at them!

Here is a purchase yesterday from the Ft. Washington show. Purchased 4 graded '55 Red Mans towards my set from 707 Sportscards. Submitted 3 more to PSA for grading. I think this card looks great for a PSA 6

    image

Also purchased these two Mutoscope cards as well. They were the equivalent of Exhibit cards. They were sold from vending machines in the 40's. Hey, there is more to life than baseball

Mutoscope cards were produced in the '40s and dispensed by vending machines for around two cents a pop. They have a distinctive size of 5.25" x 3.25". All Mutoscope cards carry the inscription 'A Mutoscope Card' on them somewhere. The format was used for other subjects such as cheesecake photos, cars, sports and movie stars. You know, guy stuff. The pinup series can be broken down by the six series produced by Brown & Bigelow and Louis F. Dow, both major players in the calendar art business.

The Mutoscope sets range in value from the Glamour Girls and Artist Pinups, which are most common, to the Yankee Doodle Girls and Follies, which are quite rare.

The above was taken from the www.mutoworld.com website.

These are from the Artist pinup girls series.

Never knew anything about these before yesterday.

    Tom,

The green has a tiny pen mark in the # 6 on the back. That is the mk. The red i thought could be a 5 on another day,but what can you do. By the way it is a sovereign back as well.

    Hi Guys

Nice cards! Nice Cobbs but tkd - nice...'I've taken a turn for the nurse!'

That's disgustingly sexest in this 21st century society! I like that!!!! image

I was just watching 2 1/2 Men and the boy..."Jake"...got suspended for 1 week for drawing a girl with very, very large tits - her name was Barbara and Jake referred to her as "Boobra!" Now that's funny!

What the hell has happened to this country? I think a minority of tight asses want to take all the fun out of
a burgeoning prepubescent adolescent and his preoccupation with girls chests! What's wrong with that?
There's a thin line between sexism and "deballing" every male in favor of a feminazi society!

Phew....glad I got that off her chest!

And if anyone says I'm preoccupied or fixated? Bullshit!

    Stingray,

    Nice card.

75's always bring me back. That is the first set I really collected. I was 9 years old and put together a raw set. I still have it. It is well worn and well loved. I remember checking all the rack packs at a local toy star for stars on top. I guess once a collector, always a collector. I dropped out for a while, but ebay brought me back. I've assembled a great collection of stadium postcards and now am working on a few projects. Anyway, I digress, but I remember that Bill Sidakis card from my youth, although I have no idea who he is.

    yawie,

What is the grade on that? My guess is PSA 4, but maybe a 5?

I turned in 7 T206s for grading this week, so we'll see what comes back. One is an Old Mill that will be a 2 or 1, but I don't have that back yet.

Any other vintage coming your way?

Good eyes, Tom. It's a 4, though I think it could've maybe been a 5 were it not for a small vertical wrinkle just after "Schaefer."

I sent in just one card the other day, a '23-24 Howie Morenz rookie card, for which the grading fee alone was $25, and might get another small T and E card invoice together within the next couple of weeks. Hopefully you get your 7 cards back more quickly than it's taking my bulk common invoice. It was nice to submit enough stuff to drop the fee down to $8/card, but the turnaround time is killing me. Still, I guess 6 weeks is nothing compared to what it was like when I was first submitting back in '99.

I was able to submit direct to PSA at the Ft. Washington show, so I wasn't paying postage to ship, which makes the higher fees tolerable.

Good luck with the grades. I should have my T206s, a couple of T202s (although 1 may not grade for a miscut) along with some modern stuff (I've got my fingers crossed on the 52 Berra, 53 Berra Bauer and Mantle, 57 Yankees Power Hitters, and 67 Seaver) being graded this week.

    Very nice card Yawie

You've been displaying an impressive array of vintage over the months! Hope this doesn't scare away the modern collectors!

The nice thing about the T206s - there's plenty to go around in a super collectible grade - not so for the T3s!!! image

    Thanx for sharing

Thanks, Stone! You're totally right about the T3's. I'd really like to add a couple to my collection and even threw down a bid or two during that T3 orgy on eBay the other night, but to no avail. A couple of the 1's and 2's went for what seemed like reasonable prices - at least relative to that set - but I guess it's just as well that I didn't win any. I'm sure once I get one, I'll be dragging myself through the cardboard streets at dawn looking for an angry Turkey Red fix.

Another nice Germany Schaefer card! I'm finally getting around to reading "The Glory of Their Times" and feeling a real need to own more of the turn-of-the-century "ephemera". Like a lot of the former players interviewed said, there were some real characters back in the day. I loved the story of Germany stealing second in a half-successful double steal and then stealing first so they could try again. Hilarious and nostalgic stuff! You can see why some of the rules of the game had to be created to keep up with the more "creative" players...
